Damian is my favourite member of the Bat-Family, but Cassandra is second place and the best Batgirl. I don’t think one is better than the other, they are both the same idea just taken in different directions.

Birds of prey was a lame joke on its self alone. Cassandra Cain went from badass to an overweight Asian girl who wouldn’t shut up, and had zero purpose cinematically. Even the movie title ruined the movie, because Harley Quinn was not apart of the team, Barbara Gordon formed the team.

@Jake Robinson I personally like Cassandra better because I really like the dynamic of batman having to take in a daughter in Cassandra. Since he's raised all the boys and the girl batfam characters are usually more separated so it's not weird if they date the robins. Idk I just like the idea of him adding an adopted daughter to the family more than the idea of him adding a biological son. But Damian does have his moments and super sons was awesome so I guess it wasn't all bad

I didn't understand why they still chose to adapt her when nothing of her qualities in the movie is the same with her overall identity in comics, it's just the same name 😅 Like what the uploader said, they could've have just used another character that matches her personality or just make a new one for the movie instead of butchering her adaptation

I don’t necessarily think he’s a miscast but is just too old at this point for the role. Go back to the 90s or early 2000s and I could totally see him be a convincing Batman.

Iain Glen definitely think he can look the part of Bruce. That fits, but everything other than that, he sucks. From the writing to the acting. It's hilarious and the actor is boring in it. My favorite part is when he's looking for new robins and begs dick to be robin again and when he does the adam west dance. And when he said "don't swear" to babs and dick but other than that, atrocious.

@@virgogaming6488 Yes but by that logic a large number of characters could be changed drastically, before the MCU the only superheroes that were well known to average consumers would be Batman, Superman and Spider man and maybe a small handful of others so average consumers would neither know nor care that they've been changed. I was talking about characters obscure to actual fans of the comics, where as the second long term Batgirl Cass is a fairly popular character. For example the character in Iron Man 3 -who blew up, injuring Happy Hogan is Jack Taggart, who in the comics is a minor villain, Firepower, who wields an Iron Man esqe amour. Very few fans will care that Firepower wasn't used properly, but a lot of us were upset at the portrayal of Cass in Birds of Prey.

Yeah Tom Cavanagh was amazing as Reverse Flash, there's no denying that but tbh, I prefered Matt Letscher's take on him, he just had this little something and he is the true arrowverse canon Thawne's face as well so I would've prefered them using him more and definitely see him in the final yellow suit too/or instead of tom (personal opinion)

Yeah, that was one of the most ridiculous arguments. I feel like the best way I could figure to rationalize it is that Supergirl was very clearly and deliberately doing something different with Jimmy; all the differences were clearly intentional and work well together. Meanwhile, the DCEU wasn't really doing that with Barry; it's actually not super clear WHAT they were doing with Barry, but every other hero in that movie was at least mostly faithful to a comics interpretation, so it feels like they were trying to go for a comic-accurate Barry and whiffed in every regard, rather than deliberately trying to do Barry specifically differently. That's not what he SAID, but that's more or less how I feel about it. I feel like WAY worse than 'wrong hair color' is that Ezra runs super weird, though. It's the Flash, running is his thing, getting someone with a stupid run for the Flash would be like casting an Aquaman that can't swim.

I don't get how Jimmy is "outdated" and why they felt the need to modernize him.

@@tototats16 I mean... he is a newspaper reporter, and his iconic look involves a bow tie. Even if you AREN'T someone who thinks Superman is old-fashioned and needs updating (which he doesn't, but it's a common refrain), Jimmy Olsen is someone you're gonna have to do something with. And when you start updating a character like that, it can be hard to be restrained about it.

The writing is horrendous and they waste almost all of their characters. It had so much potential when it started with the castings but then the writing made it go downhill and it just kept going. I’m still mad at what they did to death stroke.

@@debbiebrantley61 sure, ok so in late 2018 when I was 15 I applied to a casting call for the CW. After going through all the rounds of auditions and callbacks I was told that I had gotten the part of Bart Allen/Impulse on the Flash (although I had a feeling that was the character I was auditioning for by the dialogue I was given for the auditions). My debut as the character kept getting delayed due to multiple behind the scenes reasons but they still kept in contact with me multiple times to give me updates on what was going on. If you remember a few years ago when a leaked concept art for the impulse suit was posted online and then deleted, that was for me. In February 2021 they told me that the character was finally going to be used. In early March they asked me to send in measurements for the suit and told me that I would have the contract sent to me in a couple weeks cause my birthday is at the end of March and I would be turning 18 at the time so I’d be able to sign without having a parent and could be employed as an adult. On my 18 birthday I woke up and saw on social media that Jordan Fisher had been cast in the role and they’ve ghosted me ever since. They gave me no indication that this would happen and they screwed me over after wasting 3 years of my life waiting for my dream to come true. I still have the emails.

I think if they ever wanna retcon this Cassandra Cain. Say that her real name is Sin or Cynthia. Then say she used Cassandra Cain as a fake name, because she's trying to keep herself hidden from cops and criminals so uses the name. That way a real Cassandra Cain can be in the DCEU one day.

I've never cared too much about the whitewashing stuff, but I dislike how Nolan just ignored Bane's Latino roots. They're an essential part of his character, and instead they made him a generic white guy from an undefined nation.

That wasn't Bane. That was a frustrated Shakesperian Actor trying to eat a metal spider.

Batwoman was good for the arrowverse and the first cicada wasn’t horrible and I’m sure the birds of prey were not that bad either

If they wanted a Harley Quinn led all female DC movie, why was Birds of Prey, a team with no connection to Harley, chosen instead of Gotham City Sirens. Cut Cass and Renee and replace Dinah and Helena with Selena and Pamela and the film would probably have been a hit. The thing is at the very least Huntress is a murderous vigilante who uses a crossbow and Black Canary has her sonic scream. Not only does Cass have none of the traits one would expect of a faithful reaction of Cassandra Cain, with the exception of Asian heritage (and even then I think Cass is meant to be mixed race, since David Cain is white) but traits she does have (talkative and idolizing Harley's violence) that actively flies in the face of who Cass is.

I dunno. He was still awful in that jl post credit scene with his jumping around and over the top reactions and expressions and I don't think he'll ever fit the mold properly. I feel as he is a Jr, His dad lex Sr could be the real deal and was just hiding away and faked his death, but shows up into the light again. Just my thought on what he could do, but I really don't think Jesse will ever be the lex we want/need/deserve.
