Man, as a big fan of Iced Earth's earlier work (Horror Show still holds up as quality power metal), their new album was a betrayal of the worst kind. It felt like being touched by an uncle. It legitimately ruined my day when I heard it.

Shocked that NAV took every spot. He’s the most consistent artist ever.

I think its easier to understand why A Narrative Soundscape is like that once you learn that 3/4 of the band quit after Jon's bullshit and he himself can't leave the house.

1) When "ELEVATION" (#5) got compared to *DJ Khaled* in a negative way, that's how you know that the Black Eyed Peas truly fell off. It doesn't help that the album hasn't charted anywhere. It doesn't even have a *Wikipedia* page! 😂 2) Also, the "A Narrative Soundscape" (#1) part had me dying from laughter! 🤣

The Iced Earth record is literally just the opening narration from an episode of Adult Swim's Xavier: Renegade Angel; but unironic and with the worst script immaginable.

Narrative Soundscape by Iced Earth is one of the most funniest things I’ve ever heard. Listening to 7-headed-wh*re is one of the experiences of all time.

Huge Iced Earth fan here. Their music has meant a lot to me, they really changed my life. I know every album by heart. I've met them too and they were very nice to me. Was heartbroken by Jon Schaffer's implication in the capitol bullshit, as well as his COVID denial, and haven't really been able to listen to IE since, pretty much. It sucks hard, because their music was a huge part of my life, but it just isn't the same now. This album was a very weird product and it truly baffled me, when I first listened to it. My take, sad as it sounds: it was a way to quickly release something "new" and make some money to help pay for Jon's legal expenses, seeing as he is in deep trouble after the riot. The music is all stuff that already existed, rearranged to sound like background fantasy music. The spoken stuff was partly already existing lyrics and partly new stuff that probably didn't take long to write. It's familiar stuff, if you know Jon. And obviously recordings the vocals wouldn't take long, you could probably do it all in one day. So, yeah, I think this album was simply a way to make some money as quickly as possible. The fall of Jon and Iced Earth is truly depressing.

I didn’t really know what could be worse than “The Brave” so as soon as I saw #1 I ran to Spotify to listen to it. It’s the most cringe and hilarious album I’ve ever listened to. I cannot believe someone paid money to make that

NAV’s consistency at making bad albums never ceases to amaze me.

That Iced Earth record is what happens when nobody will play in your band with you anymore.

I had the misfortune of coming by a Tom M video earlier today wherein he said he had the "#2 pop song on the charts" and positioned himself as the David/ independent artist vs. the Goliath of Sam Smith, producers, and the major labels. His music is apparently better and more authentic because he's the sole writing / production credit on his songs. I've never seen someone spin "no one wants to work with me" into "let's take down the system" quite so deftly.

Iced Earth really knocked it out of the park this year. Being involved with the 1/6 insurrection and then dropping their idea of the soundtrack for it back to back.

It is truly very sad to see how far Iced Earth has fallen. Burnt Offerings and Something Wicked... were great power metal records, and I actually liked Incorruptible a lot as well.

Nav's latest, it really did it for me. I put it on, and I couldn't help myself. I punched so many trees. People saw me do it and they were confused but they were Nav Normies. Eventually I got put into prison but I did it all for Nav. Every night I would cry "NAV IS THE GREATEST POET AROUND" although it took a fellow inmate (meth) to tell me how to pronounce poet correct

Honestly just seeing Kanye at this point just makes me sad. One of the most influential artists of our generation devolved into... this. This pathetic, self-important nonsense that long since gave up on anything but stroking Kanye's massive ego. I honestly just hope he gets help soon and drops from public eye. The man needs it and I would rather him retire now and save what little credibility and honor his legacy had than ruin it all with these statements. But he won't. That Iced Earth album is technically a remix album,every song has the same lyrics as something they recorded before with matching titles(just with the "narrative soundscape"shit at the end).

Holy shit, I was waiting for years until you'd finally mention power metal, and never in my wildest dreams would imagine it to be #1 worst album of the whole damn year! Even beating top contenders with Kid Rock, Tom McDonalds and Nav! I am genuinely amused how this came to be! Oh yeah and that Iced Earth album is just a sad look into the mind of a racist uncle crumbling under his midlife crisis while he reminisces the times he put out good music.
