Okay, to be fair I have had conversations with lots of my friends about whether they want kids. You definitely don’t have to be in a relationship with someone to discuss that topic. I’m a guy & have had non-sexual conversations with female friends about it even.

I should fact check that though. But for sure it can actually be risky for your health to have babies too young like in your teens

Also this reminds me of a story my teacher told me in high school about his hick hometown. So there was this upper class white couple in previously-Confederate Florida. They were essentially set up by their families, and the girl was in trouble for dating a black boy. Apparently that was part of why her family set her up. She got together with the arranged dude (who was super racist and threatened the other guy accordingly to that). They got married and they had…a black baby. So the guy is thinking she cheated and they did a paternity test. Turns out it was *his side*, and he was descended from a slave being raped by his great-great² grandfather. She never cheated, he carried that gene that skipped until he passed it to his kid.

You're right that there's plenty of inherent racism in assuming that he definitely wouldn't have a black girlfriend, but I feel like the thought process behind the latter part is less "white women women that cheat will do so with black men" and more "how can we make it obvious that the kid is not his."

Uh to be fair, you should 100% discuss children before marriage. You obviously shouldn't be required to have kids if you don't want to, but you shouldn't stay in a relationship if he wants kids and you don't want to. It's not fair for one person to not have kids when they want to and it's not fair for one person to have kids when they don't want to. It's good you broke up if he wanted kids and you didn't.

Yeah. I remember being in highschool and dudes saying they were going to get rich so they'd never have to date someone over 23, or like "be that old guy with a hot 20 year old wife". Like a load of men definitely feel very strongly about women needing to be younger than 25 to be valuable and we're actually not getting better as a society in that regard. We're getting worse.
