“The car isn’t a tuner it’s a ricer” Well considering that the movie was made in 2003 (which is the early years of riced out cars).. You can’t really blame them for having riced out cars in the early Fast and Furious movies..
I’ve never disagreed with a video so much! Haha. I love all those cars. The hulk van wasn’t my taste, but it was original thinking. I’d rather see that than another slammed s-13 on Long Champs.
I thought the gensen was pretty cool. Never seen one before and the front end looks clean. Not sure how good a three speed auto is for street racing. Not bad for drag racing tho.
You lost me at the Jensen. It is an amazing car. And it is beautiful looking. The fact that they modified one and managed to make it look clean and not ruin its characteristic lines was admirable.
Yes, because driving a 60-year old British car with bad wiring, shoddy build quality, and one that is prone to breaking down all the time due to overheating is good fun as always 🙃
I don't think ricers are bad I just think it's a way of people showing their self through their cars and I think that people should keep doing it but I still do like tuners too
One of the most reliable cars I've ever known if you run a premix pump instead of the standard mix pump. Mix 2 stroke in and rev it to the moon daily and it'll live forever.
@Matty Kennedy so is an F-150. So is every over car on the planet because we all have different taste and like different things? Bruh sounds like a 4th grader on the playground grow up. 😂
After having finished the video, I disagree with everything he said, apart from the modern chargers and the Ghibli. He mentions so many things that have nothing at all to do with the movies
I was with you until you started slagging off the caprice (which looks cool) and the Jensen interceptor. The Jensen interceptor may not be fast now, but it has a top speed of 133 mph and a 0 to 60 of 7.3 seconds, which was good for a car in the 70s and most American muscle cars at the time were considerably slower than that it even had a Chrysler v8. Also dispite the stereo type, British cars didn't have really bad wiring, it was on par with the US car industry and I've owned three classic British cars and never had any major problems with it. Also you seem to not understand what GT means because you seem to think that's muscle car related, it isn't, it was never made to be a muscle car, it was made to hit 70 quickly and drive comfortably for long distances. Overall it's definitely a car guys car and it's very desirable, you are looking at paying around 80k to 150k for one. British cars from the 60s and 70s are really fun to drive overall, they offer a very pure driving experience, something any true car guy can appreciate, they were also very successful in motorsport. You might want to do some research before slagging off a car in future.
My thoughts too. Might as well nix the Chargers, with useless horsepower, in anything other than a straight line, as well. Lieberman slagged the Interceptor too. For ppl who drool over tuner cars, they sure don't know cool, for cool sake. Their videos, look like mirrors of each other.
this man has 0 taste or knowledge and it shows. describes the rx7 as one of the most "legit jdm cars from japan" when i said that my eyes rolled i can't believe the shit this man comes out w so the fact he slagged the jensen off saying it doesn't suit a "movie for car guys" clearly thinks that jdm and "tuners" + some SICK v8 chargers = legit car guy
Funny enough, I actually loved the rx8 and the Hulkmobile, not bc its my taste of cars but in my mind its about making/building something you love whether anyone else, so even if you build the most gawdy looking car in my opinion, I can respect it as long as you love it and you're happy with it
First off bro gets your facts straight before u start ripping on movies and two get ur car facts right cause tbh I dont think it's right to lie on RU-vid
that 911, WRX and 370Z was the best of the bunch but sadly the 3rd cctv was placed in a spot where it could see the cars go through, therefore the police Chargers were their last resort
Few things I want to tell 1.caprice with that nascar style was pretty nice 2.cmon men it's 90s crazy mod all around 3.worst car of fast and furious was the van in the fast 7 scene when the house explode, chrysler town n country i guess
That interceptor is awesome, I absolutely the look of it and it is one of my favourite cars in the franchise. If it was a manual with a better v8 it would have been better though.
You lost me when you started dissing the RX-8. Yes, it did "fail" to be the all-out street racer that RX-7 fanboies wanted it to be, but it was never attempting to be that, and the driving dynamics were _excellent._ The reason it never caught on in the USA is because Americans don't know what to do with a grand-touring car -- our freeways are too straight and too wide, and most of us don't live in the hills of SoCal, so it's hard for GT cars to be fun on a daily basis in the USA. Also the rotary engine's fuel economy SUCKS and nothing short of rewriting the laws of physics can fix that.
Dude, I want an 80s Caprice (or one of its' other GM counterparts), and I thought the one in Fast7 was sick. Also, I saw a video talking about the model and it wasn't getting bigger. GM was downsizing the Caprice and it was one of the few examples of downsizing a car done right.
In the late ‘90s I had an 85 caprice unmarked cop car that had station wagon brakes and suspension, limited slip rear differential. Factory 350 car that had a later sbc crate motor swapped in. Great old car and a little quick, could hang with 90s Vette or 5.0 mustang. Everything on it was cheap and simple to repair
One issue you really should consider... is that since F5 its been a pretty global focused franchise. Not just in its content, but regarding its audience. You may not like the charger because its "normal" and "common" to you, but in countries like Japan its not the case.
This guy doesn't know that much about cars though, so he thinks anything that didn't come from America, Germany or japan, isn't a car guys car and must be shit, I was glad they included it in the franchise.
I remember seen on a show or website that the eclipse used for 2f2f was inspired by an actual car that had very similar paint scheme and a super cool samuray on the hood and alot of details and work done to just the paint alone that the team decided to just do a quick similar respray on several eclipse cars since they were going to be trashed anyway but the car was also modified and tuned (original eclipse), I think that maybe a bit of research will reveal a bit more onto why the production team decided to use some (not all) of the cars in some of the films instead of just bashing them out of the blue. Just my opinion.
I can agree with most of this list, but the RX-8 is one of the cars & driving experiences for the price. Plus the year it was released it won car of the year from nearly every publication. Front engine, rear wheel drive, LSD from factory, exceptional enthusiast car
Hey, Brad, I think you were a little rough on the Genson Interceptor, I've driven one before and its an absolutely amazing ride. Disclaimer, the car does not belong to me, it belongs to s friend who imported the car
Bad cars ? The bad movies from Fast and furious are from 4 to 9. Because lost the original target. Cars !! And the movies fasts and furious 4.5.6.7.8.9. Are pure fantasy.
In my personal opinion, the Jensen Interceptor is a really cool car. Reliability issues are also easily fixed by second-rate tuning divisions here in Britain and America, you can take your car to one of those divisions and they'll modernise key components of the car (slip-diff, engine parts, etc) and you can even opt for them to be fitted with a V8. Regardless, I don't think people think about reliability when you see cars like these in movies, but I digress.
Stock rx8 does 0 to 100km/h in 6.4s and it drives like a dream. No, it is not as powerful as rx7, but still good sportcar and rev limit at 9500rpm is addictive AF!
You hit it; I remember ads during NFL games with Vin's voice over on the "Dodge Boys".....I can't think of an actor who has made more money for fewer words; Dodge ads and "I am Groot".
the 2nd car on your list was tuned and had the gearbox out of a tractor so it had 3 or 4 foward and the saem amount of reverse gears. do some research rather than using feelings
I worked at a dealership where one of the very clueless salesmen thought hemi stood for " High Efficiency Motor Inside"... And his customers believed it ...
Generally I accept this video's conclusions, with the exception of the Caprice. They can be really cool if you put the effort into them, like one in my area that has a supercharged 454, converted to coilover suspension and a custom widebody. Beautiful in it's ugliness.
Agree with your list except the interceptor, that is a great classic, and brings a bit of curiosity to the great nr of people all around the world that didnt know it
RX-8: *Wins International Engine of the Year Award* Some guy on RU-vid: “Asthmatic engine…” RX-8: *Wins 3rd place in Car & Driver Best-Handling Car Award, countless other awards and universal praise* Some guy on RU-vid: “Poor driving dynamics…”
A fact that is not always remember is the fact that Dom was racing for pinks and kicking butts on an import, before he got the 'muscle all American car only' persona, he was doing it in a Mazda RX-7
@@gamerul69420 ive lookied into this extensively and its much more of a drawback than a benfit. You can port it much more easily, and somehow it is better for emissions, i guess due to the way the whole system is designed. However, its also a major hot spot in the engine, is very prone to carbon build up in the shallow part before the actual port hole and basically makes it so that if you wanted to turbo the engine, you would run into major issues with this port. its an engine running at its full potential from stock, there is basically no viable tuning options for it, the only method is to put a turbo on it and run e85 fuel exclusively, or else it will blow up. Also, the rotors themselves are very soft compared to previous generations, lighter, but softer, and adding bost can cause the rotors to literally bend over at the apex. So saying its better, is a matter of perspective. In stock form, yes you are right. But if you have any desire to tune it, then its vastly inferior.
@@Nbomber abt the turbo I've read many articles that said it causes major heat problem cuz the car cant hold with it. I really appreciate that you are informed, not many people know abt this car
@@gamerul69420 yeah man you are completely right about that. i only know because i bought one with low compression and was weighing my options up. sadly, i dont have the time to work on it, so i ended up giving away to a good home. I know im going to live to regret that decision tbh. but my forester takes all my time and money rn. lol
My guess is because it no longer reflects the classic charger yet dodge chargers even with a v6 are solid cars I had one for a while and I loved the thing
@@H-FJTV my stepmother bought one new back in the day. First motor went at like 20k. Second one went at about 28k. They are pretty hit or miss. Plus get the gas mileage of a f350
It is so stupid to say that a car sucks because of its predecessor. for example: Hate the F50 because of the F40, or the 370Z because of the 350Z and finally the Rx-8 because of the Rx-7. and say that the Rx-8 has a very bad dynamic ?? You know nothing about cars honestly .. Rx-8 is much better than an Rx-7 on a race track .. just say that to be okay with the "Haters"
Love all that you guys do. Thank you. I just wish for once they would do something good with one of those eclipse spyder. I own one and trying make it cool for my son's first car. Love to get some good ideas.
Yeah, its said that it had a tractor gear box. Most of tractors can go in reverse almost at the same speed as going forward. Like, if you have 20 gears forward, there's gonna be also 20 gears in reverse. Well, there are some other gearboxes. But I will not go deep. So that scene "racing on reverse" still looks kind of silly, but it sort of makes sense.
