Good to hear that you've had enough of big city stealth camping. That dude walking down the sidewalk while the gunshots were going off didn't seem too concerned. He must have been a local. 😂 Goodbye Philly,.. hello Spring! ☘🌞 🥰
I 100% respect your courage & guts... for sleeping here. Its a super tough place to live; however a lot of good ppl too. Be safe in your travels... plz carry mace ok.
15:15 - LoL! Sometimes you just have to listen to the cosmic energy and bug out on a situation. Glad you made the most of it though. Plus, you got this sweet shot during the magic hour! Continued safe travels, Tory!
Chicago has LOTS of nice areas. I did vanlife for a year in Chicago and it’s beautiful! EVRY city has good and bad parts. Chicago has unbelievably beautiful parts.
Good One Tory, Nice dual camera setup. quality of video is improving with every vlog you make, you work hard and smart. keep it up and best of luck for upcoming journey @10:01
whoa geeez that whole experience seems crazy! I don't think I could have slept at all that close to a bar. Philly can definitely get pretty sketchy at night. Loving your vlogging videos! Hope you have safer travels on your trip across country.
Growing up and still living the Philly area, I found your video entertaining and interesting to watch. Yes, Philly does have a problem with crime and gun violence, but then again, most big cities do. The last two years, Philly has averaged well over 500 homicides. Towards the end of the video, you mentioned that Al Pacino stayed at the Eastern State Penitentiary. I think you meant Al Capone. While visiting Philly in 1929, he was pinched by the Philly PD for carrying a gun. He spent a year at Eastern State and used to have dinner with the warden on most Sundays. When I visited the prison, they have fixed up the cell where he stayed to look like it did in 1930. But the Philly Gardens is a very interesting place to see and popular place to visit. While Philly does have several arts-related museums, the Garden is much more accessible, and the city also has a lot of mural arts.
If you want to get out of the big cities but still go somewhere where there's something to do I suggest Asheville, NC. If you want to go really small, Yellow Springs, Ohio is a cute hippie town with lots of cute shops.
LOL...as soon as I saw the title then the building on the thumbnail, I KNEW you were in Philly! You gotta know where to go in Philly, and obviously, where not to go. And even then, some random craziness might go down.
My wife has family in Philly. We stopped by on our trip down the coast.. my dually and 5th wheel didnt go far off of I95, those roads were too small 😂.
Wow that was brave! Didnt know you were so close to me! Coulda met up and got lunch or something lol. Yea, I'd say outskirts of philly, in the suburb where I live, are much better for stealth camp. Lots of airport parking lots, UPS parking lot on hog island, or even hotels.
Gun shots , partying and crazy people .....are you in Philly or Texas . I hear and see that stuff all the time . Plus I work retail so it extra fun . I'm glad your safe and on the road Tory . If your in Central Texas I recommend find a walmart parking lot to park in . There is one near me and they welcome campers and trucks . Safe travel Tory 😊.
Beautiful honey. I am glad you made ot out of Philadelphia safe. I dint know you drove on tje right side of the van like in English. Its usually on left side in USA. I love you. ❤❤❤❤
Pen-a-ten-tu-ry aka a prison also, fairmount is a major thoroughfare in the city, surprised it’s the only thing you heard. But how did you find those stealth camping options?
That philidephia gardens demostrated to me how much idle time people have to create all that to serve very little purpose. It must be quite the luxsury to have all that time without needing to earn money to eat and cloth your self and family.
Interesting vlogs. Btw, there is no such word in English as "penatissery". The word is peni-TEN-tiary(*shury). Sorry, I'm not the grammar police, just a weary, retired English teacher. You should be sure to stop in to a really fantastic little city in SC called Greenville. Very safe, with lots to see and do.
Haha Totally fine, appreciate the tip! One of those words I read a lot but never heard aloud. Can happen to anyone. And thank you so much, I’ll look into that! 🌷
😂 3.5/10 You are so honest :D lmao the "boring" part! :) They played Taylor Swift, it's a win 😂😂 It was probably a van lifer's tire popping XD :L Just an FYI, Wendys FTW!
The ice cream machine LIE is happening everywhere on the east coast. Listen closely, they actually say “It’s broken down” most of the time. Meaning they took it apart, cleaned it, and didn’t put it back together. Happens alllllll the time. I would love for a McDonald’s employee to tell me why they hate doing ice cream so much. 😂😂😂😂 Burger King almost always has their ice cream machine up & working so go there or DQ next time. (;
Hi Tory philly looks really nice. And do you 🌹 In your vlog but m know there is a lot of homeless people there with drugs. But you show the good side of this city. Thanks keep safe 🎏🗺
Sounds like you need to stay in the smaller towns,that are outside of the bigger city's,as you Cross the country . But Anymore almost all area's are like that but do be safe and have you checked the solar panels for being dirty and They May look clean, but usually their not and Rob ALOT of power from getting into the batteries and you could stealth camp with a electric blanket. Hooked into the solar system at night. But I do enjoy your travels and hope to do The Same Thing one day..... And also get to meet you, but until then be safe.....
Chicago is not really a bad city to go to you just Gotta know what parts to go to I don’t live there all my life until I move to California and I’m gonna be going back ❤
Just wait 'til you see some real sights; magnificent nature = the grand canyon, yellowstone, the redwoods of northern Cali, Mount Hood, girl your mind is gonna be blown! I can hardly wait until you come face to face with your first buffalo!
Haha It’s one of those words that I’ve seen a lot but never heard said & I didn’t even think to look it up I just said it with WAY TOO MUCH confidence 😂😂🤷🏽♀️ Ehhh oh well 😂 LOL
Wait, I'm from Philly and this is news to me. Al Pacino went to prison there? ... ... Al Capone Tory. Al Capone. Al Pacino was IN scarface. Al Capone WAS scarface.
@@ToryDelury the video just looks like there's a filter making things less defined, maybe just verify you are recording in 4K? I'm sorry to be that person. ;_;
@@juanmacias5922 Oh… Okay I’m going to look up how to record in 4K cause I didn’t know that was a thing lol 😅 No I appreciate it cause I want to keep improving, this is only like my 10th long form video & I’m used to just making shorts so it helps a lot, Thank you!
@@ToryDelury I really hope it helps! Thanks for the videos! :D I just googled "is the iPhone 11 good for video recording", and saw many helpful sites/RU-vid vids, but RU-vid doesn't like me linking them. xD Looking forward to your next vid. :D
@@ToryDelury I drive a tour bus and I have to take a group there tomorrow, but I saw it on the Trvl Channel and they say that it is haunted lol but I heard that it is great
@@ToryDelury on a sidenote, your channel popped up on my RU-vid feed today and I subscribed, pretty cool channel and the next time if you decide to come back to Baltimore you might want to try staying in Fells Point
Oh lovely 🌈😂 I do not look forward to this prophecy ☠️ But I dont plan on going to St.Louis this trip across America so at least I can push it off a bit longer 😂 LOL
I understand, when I looked it up the pattern was more like gunshots in my opinion, and that few random fireworks…? at 4:30am? in center Philly? ☠️ Plus it was in the news the next day someone died but that’s nothing new for Philly so that could have been separate idk 🤷🏽♀️ But like I said after in the video, in could have been other things but a lot of arrows point to gunshots unfortunately in my research
😳 goodness!! That was a big freaking gun if those were shots smh I’m glad you’re out of there and taking a break from the cities….stay safe friend! Sending good vibes from Brooklyn 🙋🏽♀️
Hahahah I grew up near Philly & genuinely it was the city I was most scared of sleeping in besides Chicago & Detroit 😅 Baltimore & NYC were fine but I knew Philly was going to be scary, I figured one night would be fine…. and I really thought I avoided it until the end there 😅
You are not parking in the right neighborhoods girl I know each city that you’ve camped in and I wince at your choices. Please do due diligence. Philly is not scary at all in the right places.
Al Capone...Al Pacino..Time for an Al Capacino from Starbucks...BTW you might want to invest in a good pair of noise cancelling headphones. I'd use mine when the road construction crews were working at night in my area. And whoever heard of a McDonalds with a broken Ice Cream machine!
I know right!!! Honestly I’ve always heard the jokes about McDonald’s broken ice cream machines but never experienced myself so it was a first lol And I used to wear noise canceling headphones & then there was an “incident” where I slept through some scary things so I decided it wasn’t worth the risk for me personally unfortunately. But it would have been nice for sure!
