Many of you have been asking what’s next for the Super Seicento, my Fiat Seicento Sporting project car. Unfortunately, since the EPIC 1000+ mile Poland roadtrip, on the way home, I was involved in a crash that made that particular day the absolute worst day of my life…

After so many comments, I thought I'd reply to you all this way; thank you all SO much for all your kind words of support through comments, Facebook and Instagram! It means SO much to me and I never believed this idiot with his funny yellow car would have connected with so many of you amazing people! I've LOVED taking you all on our adventures so far, and the Super Seicento WILL return! You'll be the first to know what happens next and the new project is also incoming, but for now, thank you all SO much once again, and 'have a good one'!

Give it to Arthur Tussik, you'll have the car done in no time. But for real now, I feel gutted for you man, I also have a Seicento (stock Seicento S), love it to bits. I only had a small car park incident and I already felt bad about that. When you uploaded the polish trip video, I can only imagine how hard it was for you to watch that car at the car meet in Poland, looking great and then ending up how it did. Stay safe :)

Wow just stumbled upon this video and really connected with it, I had a seicento as my first car and it made me totally fall in love with Italian cars! Had Alfas and fiats ever since and now an abarth. I'm so gutted for you as a car like this you build a special bond with that only certain people will understand. But believe me this is just the start of your journey with cars. Onwards and upwards my friend!

Glad to see that you were all good man! Also super awesome to have all the enthusiasm still there and of course the optimism for the future... This reminds me of when I drove to Geneva for the motor show last year - a Hungarian truck crossed into my lane and ruined the side of my car, everything from blowing the wing mirror to the door to the quarter panel. The worst part was, this was literally the last 10 seconds before exiting the airport highway to get to the Palexpo car park, after 14 hours of driving. What didn't help was that we were driving a convertible with the roof down, but we were all fine and luckily the car was still drive-able - very very lucky. Looking forward to seeing what's to come!

same thing happened to me. Bought my first car and fell in love with it. It was an MG ZR 1.4 which i had converted to a 1.8 VVC engine and said to all my mates I'm gonna keep this car forever. Loads of upgrades later after 2 and half years of owning it I flipped it on the way to work and it was the worst day of my life. I got all the insurance sorted as it was someone else's fault but i still lost the car as it was written off and wasn't repairable. I think it's time for you to do the same and just let it go and move onto something else mate. Sorry to hear but at least you got out safe the car did it's job and did well to stop you from getting injured in the crash. Heard bad stories about cars like that crushing like a tin can in crashes so it did really well to be fair.

Oh man, that's a tough break...The main thing is that you're ok though and that no-one got hurt. I've been in a similar-ish sort of situation, so I know how much this would have hurt to make this video. I didn’t think I had a heart until I watched this video. It’s now broken. Joe, I know exactly how you feel about this. Back in February I was driving to work when the snowstorm was on. I hadn’t been volunteering at this particular school long when this happened. I was coming down a bank and lost control of my car. I ended up going head on into a sign and my beloved fiat grande punto was totalled. I can’t begin to describe what this felt like. I saw my car mutilated. I’m a manic depressive and use my car to get me to regular therapy appointments that have to take place. They are also not accessible by public transport from where I live. I also use the car to look after a friend who has autism and I couldn’t care for him if I didn’t have a car. My punto was gone and she is missed by myself, my friends, my family and the children who live in my street who adored her colour and they always got interested when I checked the oil on a Sunday morning. If you need it I’ll give you my email or my twitter and you can have a rant to someone who’s experienced the same. But the most important thing is that you’re safe. It could have been so much worse. Yes I hate the car that I drive now but I’m going to be test driving a replacement when I return from America. But thank god you are alright and my heart hurts for you at what’s happened to that glorious little yellow car that is the super seicento. And I wish her a speedy recovery.

small and tiny car with very thin metal....the truck only touched it, on some more robust car the damage would be much smaller. it's teryfing to drive seicento on motorways on long journeys, it is ok up to about 100 km, but more than that is miserable in many ways....

I'm a renault guy through and through, but this sucks to see. I could see how much you loved that car. Know that even on it's last journey the car did it's job in keeping you safe. That is the main thing, but personally having being there with my first renault, a £200 clio it broke my heart seeing that crushed. It was still salvagable given enough time and money (which would have made no sense), so I regretfully had to scrap it. The car was a rusty VIN scratched dented pile with a sunroof that poured water cornering in summer but I loved it. I felt at the time I was under pressure to make a decision, from the garage, etc. My 2 cents is if there is a possibility of it even driving again then I wouldn't get rid, something that I stupidly regret. Or at least give it some time, not to be rushed. Hell I would still have mine in pieces just to look at! Thats just me though
@MillerCorner
@MillerCorner 6 лет назад
It can be the simplest, cheapest cars that give the best memories, can't it?
@scottlawson1800
@scottlawson1800 6 лет назад
100%. A cheap car to a 17 year old self is as good as a best friend. It had tons of character, taught more things than lessons ever could and the places that it takes you are ingrained in the memory. For me you could be anywhere and still feel at home as long as it was there. I'm not afraid to admit there were a few man tears when scrapping it. My dad had me convinced it was also time for an upgrade, but after all these years I can say that it is never quite the same. Sure my car now could do anything I ask but back then there was an indebtedness to any journey. You simply cant explain that feeling of "it made it". I took care of it best I could and it sure as roses took care of me. My dad wasn't blessed with sentiment for 'firsts'. So I should have told the scrapper where to stick his 60 quid, but I didn't. Along with my brother we tried to track the car down a few years later to buy whatever was left but failed. So my plan is to save a mk1 Clio or at least own one again, and exorcise a few of those demons!

Like i said if you put them in the oven @ 100deg for 20mins the glass falls off. Clean the gunk off the old glass with white spirit and a wire scourer then take lens off a set of new lhd units and put the rhd ones on before gunk on new bodies sets. Job done :) . the lhd units are also a quarter of the price.

Sadly the front end was bent - it would've been near impossible to straighten it out completely, which would've made it impossible to wheel align and destroy the steering geometry :(

Super-gutted for you. From my experience front rail bent after side front impact = front rail damage = written off chassis.
@Techathy
@Techathy 6 лет назад
Well I did a bad job of that.... After front impact with a force vector coming from the side a bent front panel = chassis rail damage = written off chassis.

I love your car. It’s different for a start and I’ve always had a soft spot for Italian cars. I’m a Volvo fan but love all unusual cars and brands. So sorry to see what happened, I really feel you pain. I got into your channel after seeing you on HubNut (a long time subscriber) I’m now subscribed to you so look forward to catching up!

Yeah, I agree. The bad thing with Seicento is safety. In EuroNCAP 1998 took 1,5 star of 5. : -/

In Poland > buy next seicento for 100zł (~20£) > cut it half > weld 2 halves together > sell to scrap for 100zł. Btw this is my story
