Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22. A game cited by some as the worst dbz game they’ve ever played but uh. I really haven’t played it too much and I’m just guessing that you haven’t either! That’s why today on the channel we are diving into the worst dragonball game that nobody has played!

I remember begging my mom to buy me this game, and ass soon as I started playing, I was super disappointed and afraid to tell my mom I didnt like it when she would walk in and see me not playing it.

My friend and I were 11 year-old Budokai and Tenkaichi addicts. We found this at EB Games (now gamestop) and brought it back to my house all excited. We played for about 5 min and started laughing because we realized why there was 8 price drop stickers on the case.

I loved this game! I memorized the code to unlock the other five fighters 😂 it changes the start up screen to Ultimate Battle 27.

I played this game with my friend all the time, and boy howdy was it hot ass. Even with the strategy guide the moves felt clunky as hell. Also loved how a ps1 cover had a ps2 advertisement on the back of it

@@willyjf6193 This game originally released in Japan back in 1995. It didn't see a US release until 2003/2004. The same thing happened with Final Bout. Except Final Bout had a super limited release in the USA back in 97, which made it an expensive collector's item once DBZ became popular in the states. They later rereleased it in 2004.

I remember having this game. After you learn the combos and blast attacks, it can get pretty crazy lol also, the move where the Saiyans put up their yellow aura is a barrier for blast attacks. I can’t remember if it stops special moves, but it stops the regular ki blasts.

This was my first ever DBZ game. So many wonderful memories but I had no idea how to play as a 5 year old. I did a Kamehameha once and I was never able to repeat it.

the aura (the one we are familiar with in the show powering up) blocks ki blasts by draining your ki. sometimes the maps go dark and you can see shenlong in the background too :)

Yea when it comes to doing attacks in PS1 games it was crazy. For me the craziest was for a game called Battle Arena Toshinden. The inputs for the special moves were like putting in Cheat Codes 😂

@DotoDoya if you ever plan on playing this game again, in the title screen you can press "up, triangle, down, X, left, L1, right, R1" to unlock master roshi, kid goku, vegeto, ss3 goku and hercule satan. also you can charge by pressing and holding square and X aswell, doesn't have to be circle

This was the first PlayStation video game I got when I moved in the states. Seeing 2 people I thoroughly enjoy watching play a game that’s nostalgic to me brings a tear to my eye. Love y’all, happy thanksgiving

Its crazy, i used to play Ultimate Battle 22 when it first came out with my little cousins. I actually enjoyed it a lot despite how bad it was but it had its niches for my heart: ● The sprites (I come from Angelfire sprites bro) ● The cast ● The minuscule graphics that could've easily been on GBA instead of just PS1 ● Championship mode lmao it was a huge meme Unfortunately that's where it ends lmfao coming from that era bro you just appreciate the little things 😂😂😂😂😂

I grew up playing the Dragon Ball games for the Super Nintendo. When I saw Ultimate Battle 22 graphics in magazines and the animated cutscenes I was really impressed! I guess nowdays not many people remember this game, but in the 90s when it was originally released this game was very popular.

It's honestly pretty fun, especially getting to see sage Goku. It's got a fun game style and it's very hated on for not much reason besides being a little clunky.

I had a copy of this game myself it was the first dbz game I played sadly I lost the copy over time I knew just about every command there was In it I'm really glad you covered over this I may not be able to play it myself but atleast I can watch someone play the game brings back so many memories

I actually really liked final bout . I loved how you can train and just take one punch to kill a friend. We always brought our memory cards together and had a little battle with my super saiyan 4 goku and his super , ssj4 gogeta

TAKE IT BACK DOTO! For its time Ultimate Battle 22 was awesome!! I remember I had it and another Dragonball Z game on original PS, and to play it there was a thing I had to stick in the back of the playstation, and I had to keep the disc lid open and put a spring in the back right of the disc drive so it would play them! I had all of that stuff, but I didn't have room on my memory card lol.

Actually, this is one of the few PS1 games I owned way back when. Was a hand-me-down from my cousins. I had fun. The voices made me laugh.

I'm surprised they didn't know about the cheat code for the game that unlocked more characters. When I played this game with my bros as a kid, we always used that cheat code and yeah the tournament mode resulted in a lot of controller swapping.

I played so much of this game as a kid. It was probably the first place I heard the Japanese dub voices. You should definitely do a 1v1 with the extra characters code.

Played this game back in 2001 and there was only one positive I took from this game - the song in the credits. Ended up learning how to play that song about 6 years later when my dad bought me a keyboard.

Man, Ultimate battle 22 is so bad but the energy in this video was incredible and made it a good watch. I honestly want to see the two of you run thru the arcade mode sharing a character, but I can't ask such a horrible task since it makes you fight every character. I still can't believe I owned this game for years and it was the one game that no matter how much it got scratched it ran perfectly like it wanted to haunt me.

There is a way to unlock all five secret characters in one cheat. You must watch the introdution screen, then when it says ULTIMATE BATTLE 22 press up,triangle,down, X, left L1,right,R1. You should here a jingle.Then you should see a differrent introdution screen. The screen now says ULTIMATE BATTLE 27 and Hercule(Mr. Satan),Gogeta,Supersaiyan 3 Goku,Kid Goku,and Master Roshi will be unlocked in all modes.

I remember working at Game Stop way back in 2000, and the store had a copy of this game! It was a used copy and it went for $124.99 USED!!!! The japanese Bandai version, and then it got localized by Infogrames. By the time the game was localized the PS2 was already out, so it was released and sold at $19.99.

You can actually single player a tournament if you press start after selecting your character you don’t have to pick 8 but it does make it harder as you would only have one chance at getting to the finals

Oh god I remember this game, it was my first DBZ. There is a decent size roster of characters but it did not show us how the hell to unlock them as well as how to do special moves. I hated this game but loved it since it was my only DBZ game for a while. There is a way to get super saiyan 3 in the character selection. I did it once but have no idea how I did it

I LOVED this game as a kid, I had a "hacked" ps2 so my game wasnt legit, all the characters had odd names, like SSJ3 goku was called "Mega Goku" and SSJ2 gohan was "Super Gohan" Also try doing the inputs on a d-pad, I think this game came out before analogue's did for the ps1

We used to have to chip our ps1 to play Japanese video games. UB22 and DBZ Legends were the coolest games back then. And UB22 had a code for an alternate intro scene and a couple extra characters

This game was super frustrating trying to pull off the moves. The only thing I liked, was how we had the newer characters that the other games didn’t have at the time, like Gotenks and Buu.

I played that game alot with my brother on the Ps1 in the early 2000's. Yes it didn't age well at all but this game is really nostalgic to me.

Fun fact. Or not. This game was hella outdated even when it came out because (for whatever reason) even thought it came out in like '96 or whatever in Japan, it took until 2003 to hit the States. Really not too sure why that was the case.
