by searching on internet it actually look like it never existed (I'm not trying to be mean btw, I'm just finding different sources and not a clear period of the omani times in east Africa )
"Underrated" They had a tiny strip of trading posts and fought for slaves. Not exactly something worth mentioning IMO. Sure, Oman is rather small, but Portugal within around 50 years was able to get hundreds of more varied trading posts all over the globe. Technology was indeed a factor but considering they had hundreds of years what they achieved was rather uninspiring
Petition for Drew to display the flag of Equestria (Day 17) 12:02 nope, Emu War took place in the Campion district in Southwest Australia. 12:26 Zulu War, 1879.
Most of the battles shown here in South Africa is from the second freedom war (Brits call it the second Anglo Boer war) it's the largest war fought on modern South African territory. Ww1 never went far into the north cape province as South Africa pushed it back and took over Namibia, and ww2 was mostly a naval thing with German subs trying to get into South African port's (fun fact the first time a woman deployed port defences to counter a enemy naval ship from entering a port happened here in South Africa, the sub tried to escape and the South African air force bombed the port trying to hit the sub it's got a memorial and pictures but isn't talked about much here) and hunting German spy's and their allies in the ossawabrandwag (Oz wagon fire watch)
10:50 hurricane sandy was awful because people in the northeast don't get big storms so our infrastructure and such was very unprepared and many lost their lives in the process.
0:14 Not sure what this map is even counting but it's mixing mandatory paid leave laws with whatever it is that the US has: "There is no federal or state statutory minimum paid vacation or paid public holidays. Paid leave is at the discretion of the employers to their employees".
It's wrong i think. Fir India it's shown 18 days but i got around 25 paid days excluding (Sundays and 2nd Saturdays) per year. And it was in private sector in public it's around 40-60 days.
There's equally massive storms in the South Pacific but our stuff has been designed "mostly" cyclone proof, so we're not rebuilding towns and cities after every category 4
Sweden says it has 35 paid vacation days but that is only partially correct. I don't know the exact age brackets but it depends on age, I think 18-40 or so get 25 days and then it slowly rises to 35 when you're 60+ or something like that.
2 in Australia one is Darwin in the north which was attacked in ww2 ,the one u mention looks to be Perth but the emu war was south of that or it could be a battle between British and Aboriginals
I'm very surprised the 2011 super outbreak was not on the worst disasters Btw the 2011 super outbreak is a tornado outbreak where 300+ tornadoes touched down in the span of 2 days with 4 ef5s all in 1 day
So, technically, you can take a boat from D.C. to Moscow too. As well as D.C. to Paris, of course. The battle map, population density yes, but more importantly, record keeping. How many battles happened between tribes in Africa or the Americas but were never recorded because they didn't have writing?
Relatively small economic damage at 3.7 billion dollars, but the Icelandic volcano Eyjafjallajökull canceled over 100.000 flights. But the 1784 eruption of Laki is the third most destructive eruption in history. Didn't have much economic damage but the death toll and environmental destruction was huge.
A little detail about Argentinian vacation days: It rises ðe longer you're on a company. Less ðan 5 years: 14 days 5-10 years: 21 days 10-20 years: 28 days Over 20 years: 35 days.
I believe the number of paid vacation days in Portugal is incorrect. It is not 35. As far as I'm aware, it is 21. Unless it is counting holidays. Although, there some non-freelance jobs that work holidays. So they still should not count?
4:15 NATO actually made an agreement with the USSR that would prevent NATO from stationing any kind of NATO troops except German ones in the former East-German territories. Major NATO headquaters couldnt be build there either. That agreement is often misunderstood in a way as if NATO agreed that no NATO troops would move further east in other eastern-european countries, when in reality it only appealed to East-Germany. NATO kept this agreement to this day
US battle map. Doesn’t mention the French Indian war, the War of 1812, or most importantly the biggest contributor, THE CIVIL WAR. Absolutely epic blunder by drew 😝 can’t believe he would forget these significant historical events 😩
Considering Brazil only has 200mil people, and Portugal has only 10 mil, we also have only 5% of the total speakers in the country. And that's not even counting all other Portuguese speaking countries, so it's likely to be even less.
Portugese has 260 million native + non-native speakers. The population of Portugal is 10.33 million, but if we assume some of those can’t speak portugese, we could say Portugal stands for 10 million portugese speakers. 10 / 260 = 3.84%
When I heard Latin America I imagine well ... Latin America, but I kinda hope it was like Latin America, like the Roman America or something, that would be epic. Now I want to know if Aztec would change the Roman in some way with their human sacrifice.
and what about "Latin Oceania" ? There are three French overseas collectivities there, and the official language is also ... French ..; ( New Caledonia, French Polynesia and Wallis-and-Futuna )
nah fam, portugal arrived in india in 1498 and established some cities rule in 1505 so still earlier than Oman Empire, that shows in that map 1615 de 1st colony. also fun fact, there was no fight of Independence between Portugal and Brazil.
That Wikipedia map is so misleading because that's only the battles that are mentioned in the English Wikipedia. Someone made the same map with Cantonese Wikipedia and, unsurprisingly, it suddenly looked like all the battles in the world took place in and around China.
@@plumebrise4801 Eh no. The map was made by Nodegoat using a query on Wikidata which is a database that searches the English Wikipedia and nothing else. When you reply to a comment with an ''Ackchyually'' would you mind making sure that you're actually right first?
Tbh it would be cool if Drew made a video on march 19th and at the end of the video someone just snatches his face (Drew getting kidnappad) then the screen turns black with red text in a creepy font saying "You're next"? Is anyone with me? No? Nobody? Well alright (Day 4 lol) Edit: Please we only have several days left 😭
Here in Austria I get a month payed vacation additional all national holidays. Moreover, we get 14 salaries per year. The two additional are for vacation and christmas.
Everybody is talking about drew mixing up Macedonia and Montenegro but they completely forget him mixing up monaco and andorra in the very first map!!!
to be honest I'm surprised there are even countries where something as high as 2% of children are born out of marriage. how the hell does Iceland have 69%??! didn't know Europeans give birth out of marriage that much
