I think the saddest part of the Southpaw Regional Wrestling one is that they totally missed the joke for a lot of characters Like how they created more women's characters when the joke on the show was that Natalya's character was the only woman on the roster and therefore could never have a match
I honestly miss the days where you could buy single characters for like a dollar or two if you wanted. They'd even sometimes throw in like one or two free DLCs just because.
I'm surprised the Woo edition pack wasn't considered the worst dlc for 2K19. 5 out of the 6 characters in the pack were already in the game by default, two of which didn't even have wrestling gear.
Yeah that Woo pack was underwhelming, why couldn't we have a Dusty and Flair in wrestling gear? Like Flair's WM 8 look. And Biker Taker looked like a CAW,
I remember being so excited for that Stand Back pack, as I loved The Hurricane when I was a kid & MSK were my favorite tag team on NXT during the time. Then it came out & felt incomplete. Nash Carter was remove from the pack (& was replace with MyFaction cards of all things) leaving Wes Lee automatically outdated. I still made the most of it & downloaded a CAW of Nash Carter & had him & Wes Lee win the tag titles on my universe mode. So at least I got some use out of it, I guess? 🤷🏽♂️
2K22's worst was NOT that one. It was the one with 3 Undertaker Attires that was $10! No new moves, no new entrances (from what I know), and just simply not worth $10.
While not a regular 2K game, Edge being a preorder and DLC for WWE 2K Battlegrounds. He was already back in WWE for like a full year, plus he’s an essential.
I played 2k17 at a convention, thinking that Shinsuke was base game roster since he was playable for the demo version they had. Then I checked online and got pissed immediately.
At least in '18 you had some option in a Mode, which calls itself my Carrear. Now days it's a Storymode, where no one has control or options about his Carrear. That's why I let my created Caws and real Wrestlers have their own Carrears in Universe Mode.
@zoroiri2 that's what I mean when I got the pre-order bad bunny, and I tried to buy the backlash 2023 one it said I already owned this item. Maybe it was a bug or something, but I got a free backlash bad bunny
While I say the Pat Pack is the absolute worst in 2K24, I would actually say the worst DLC for 2K24 is actually the VC Coins as they put a whole bunch of "DLC" Persona cards behind Loot Boxes, for example the Hulk Hogan Ichiban Figure Persona you would have to get the right card to fight him in the tower and it could cost up to $200 to pull the right card to get the card you needed to get him and that's not to mention the rest of the Persona Cards that require RNG to get
Imma be honest, I think the worst DLC in 2K24 is the 40 years of wrestlemania pack. The only standout of it is the Wrestlemania 40 arenas at day and night, which isn’t all that special considering Wrestlemania 31 and 39 both have day and night versions. As for the “characters”, you get a version of Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Rey Mysterio and Triple H. Not even a new character, just a few new versions.
I agree with the MyCareer thing from 18 since unlike the previous game, you seem to get less attribute points than the previous game. I really wanted to love 2K22 but at least for me it had a game breaking glitch that no one cared about fixing and that is if a wrestler bounces off the ropes regardless of whether they're Irish Whipped or runs into them whether because a move or in general the character will run in place for eternity and for some reason, they seem to be invulnerable. That was why I was very enraged when they all of the sudden announced 2K23 without fixing that one massive bug while they kept focusing on the stupid MyFaction AKA EA Sports wannabee Dynasty mode AKA Gacha mode.
It's a shame, cause aside from the Pat Mcaffee dlc, I think 2k24's dlc lineup is very solid. But as it is, aside from Pat, who is fun to have in the game, all his buddies are good for is jobbers for ke to beat. I also changed their music to generic stuff, so I can use theirs for create a wrestlers. I don't know who any of them are. I don't care about football, or watch Pat's shows. This is a dlc for such a small segment of people. If you don't follow football or his show, these are literally just some nobodies.
Once you buy the season pass, that should mean you get all future planned, and unplanned DLCs, regardless. This should be one of the main perks of purchasing the season pass. But the way 2k handles sales of their DLC with ALL their games, not just WWE, is kinds terrible.
I think another aspect about the Hogan DLC that made it bad was that if memory serves me right, it was delisted not too long after due to the sex tape scandal involving Hogan in 2015 which occurred not too long after the release of 2K15, and I remember he got removed from WWE 2k16 for a similar reason I think. So yeah, was a bad DLC and most people couldn't get it anyways lol
Since Pat beg for his friends to be added. I feel like originally was gonna be Pat with Naomi, Sol, Kiana (or maybe Emma since she had a model plan before her release from the company) and maybe other male superstars...
@@noneedtoknow-yv2tu I'd say they are better in certain expects. Sure the new games have flaws yes, but so do old. Like, there's a lot of things in the new games I enjoy that weren't in old ones. But then of course there are many areas in the new games that are lacking which would make them more enjoyable in terms of replayability, such as match types and stuff. But then the customization of the newer games is so expansive plus bigger rosters. I'd say both franchises have their strengths and weaknesses but I can understand preferring the old games.
The McAfee Pack is a fucking embarrassment. Maybe if those guys had had matches before but they haven’t. So they’re a waste of resources and a waste of space. McAfee should have been in the base game from the start anyway.
Wasn't 2K, twas THQ since the game was largely overseen by them and 2K mostly just slapped the name on. THQ actually weren't as perfect as fans made them out to
I personally liked the 2K16 Hall of Fame Showcase, the Alundra Blayze v Paige match was a disappointment but there could have been licensing issues for opponents like Bull Nakano or Bertha Faye, but the nostalgia of the content like Jake v Randy, Bushwhackers v Natural Disasters and Flair v Fujinami were fun to me
Very solid list here, and I agree with all but one entry. For my money - and 'money' is the operative word here - I still nominate the Cena 'Nuff Pack for 2K18. Yes, it was cool getting Batista and RVD (even though they were base-game inclusions in previous titles), and the two arenas were nice...but this was what used to be called the Collector's Edition pack...which meant paying $120...for a pointless two more versions of a guy who literally never changed anything but his clothes throughout most of his career in John Cena. If they were the Prototype and Doctor of Thuganomics versions, it might have stung a little less. But they gave us two more versions of standard Cena. Oh and the Kurt Angles weren't part of the Cena 'Nuff Pack, they were the pre-order bonus for the game.
Surprised 2k16s wasn't the rising stars pack. Only good one in there was Samoa Joe, you got Blake & Murphy who weren't very interesting at the time, and Los Matadores who weren't only bad but had also been in WWE forever at that point, and that gimmick debuted 2 years prior to that games release. Also it broke Universe Mode when it first came out
They always do it two weeks before Mania you telling me there could wait despite him being in the base game in the demo? Fuck outta here with that shit
Hot Take, I don’t think the Pat McAfee pack is that bad, my only negative is that Pat doesn’t have a wrestler-ish attire, as someone who doesn’t watch his show and doesn’t know the rest of the people on that show, I can at least act like they’re wrestlers due to their attire looking as such
The 2K14 DLC honestly wasn't unreasonable. Big E could've been main roster but he didn't have an official match on TV until WrestleMania 29, the same as Fandango. Summer being lumped into the pack also makes sense because she was solely for the benefit of Fandango at that point. The Bellas are the oddball there; I get that they didn't return until March of 2013, but they definitely had assets in WWE 13 that could've been ported just to get them on-disk.
I totally forgot that Ultimate Warrior had DLC for 2K15 but the 2K15 DLC should've been a Daniel Bryan showcase for his triumphant win at Wrestlemania 30 and he definitely shouldn't have had a showcase later on in 2K19
The 2k20 originals moves were great, The Fiend being in the game was a w(Until you had to unlock him), and I liked that they put a team entrance for Becky & Ember Moon. But other than those, the entire DLC was just mid.
Speaking of moves, that begs the question, why couldn't they just patch Pat in last year and then just add a new moves pack like they've done before. That would've been better than putting a bunch of football dudes in, then one of them making fun of NXT as a whole, and 2k laughing at that, pretty much calling all of their fans retarded.
I honestly think having Ultimate Warrior as a pre-order DLC for 2K14 was bad. He's literally in the game for the WrestleMania showcase. If they were to do DLC based on UW, they should have made some unique options, like alternative outfits of Warrior based on later matches throughout his career, or certain wrestlers to have Warrior-themed outfits, something substantial.
Saying the 'cut off' was WrestleMania is such a stupid thing to say, because it's not, it's a few months before that as proven time and time again by people going into the files of every game and seeing who pulled from the game.
i like your selections a LOT more than M_A gamer's video from 8 days ago. especially 2k16. i dont see how he picked that nxt pack over that terrible showcase mode
I honestly think that the bad bunny and pat mcafee packs aren’t terrible but I think the reason why they are so hated is because they take a slot of dlc, and that they are both 10 dollars. If they were 5 dollars and did not take a slot, I like both the packs but the price is crazy.
Until the Pat McAfee pack actually came out, I assumed that it was just a sort of and they were going to actually release the Wyatt sycks as playable characters
I was really hoping that 2K was going to rethink the Pat DLC, considering Punk and Jade were added quickly to the DLC after their appearance late last year months after the cut off date, 2K would apologize knowing the fans would be pissed and change the Pat Pack to an NXT Pack + Legends before 2K finalize it within the months between the 2K24 release and the Pat DLC release. But 2K made their final decision and released it. Now Pat’s buddies are just nothing more than just canon fodder jobbers to my wrestlers.
I wish they would do that again. It added so much replay ability. They haven’t added enough cool moves imo and the game has felt the same for a while now.
If they’re going to give us a dlc with a playable announcer and his friends nobody playing this game has ever heard of, at the very least they could put in a little more effort and add in some more Wrestlemanias in the game since for SOME reason we don’t have them all despite the game being marketed around 40 years of mania
I love Pat, but the fact that they gave us him and his podcast crew as the DLC instead of the new Bloodline that's been main eventing Smackdown for months now is ridiculous. But of course they're doing it for a reason. They don't want the roster to be "too updated" so we buy 2K25 as soon as it comes out.
Honestly people are mad over 1 DLC In 2k24 when 2k20 was a complete dumpster fire. Yeah I'd rather have actual wrestlers in the pack as well and I don't agree with what pat and his friends say about peoples response and the only wrestler worth playing as in it is Pat McAfee himself but it's just one DLC pack.
@@disneyvideocollector9375 you are the one that's telling people it's not a big deal that's why I told you you should pay everyone back then if you think it's not a big deal for us to complain
I thought the post malone and freinds pack was the worst for 2k24 jellyroll would have been so much better as a musician because post malone hasnt been around wwe in a while but jellyroll has
The Pat DLC is awful because his co-hosts are literally only relevant because of him and therefore don't deserve to be in the game in my opinion (yes I know they're all former football players but as I said, no one gives a flying fuck about any of them now apart from Pat as that man is a treasure). I get that it's for mainstream attention but how those lackeys are in the game and a lot of the rising stars in NXT aren't is a crime
I'll use WWE 2k24 until they create A +WWE 2Kgame one year that either has where like on the Xbox 360 on WWE 2k16, & 2k17 you could add custom music again, or Put commentators of your choice like how you can choose ring announcers!
Idk about 2k20, I thought the last one was the worst, it felt like 2k had ran out of steam and was just kinda boring and I really enjoyed the southpaw one but a lot of that I will admit was nostalgia for the show, but the area is fantastic and what we did get was kinda cool
The worst dlc was adding people who were in last year behind a paywall 2k14 and 15 did it with showcase instead of giving us new people we got copy and pasted versions of Randy Orton and del rio thank god they retie it
Actually 2k24 had 2 bad dlcs one is one character . post malon in a wwe game is the most disrespectful thing ever to us metal /rock gear music fans when we gonna see a famous metal band in the game and the other one pat macifi pack
Alundra Blayze's best matches were against Bull Nakano and she is still not included in the series to this day. A dream match against Paige, who was 1 of the top girls at the time made sense.
