A Look Back at WWE 2K14 

Imagine this game with a modernized roster, all the modes, and then a deep Career or Season Mode. Heck if this game had a GM Mode it would be the undisputed best wrestling game ever

This game is truly nostalgic. THQ and Yuke’s knew how to make awesome games. R.I.P THQ 😞

During qurantine I started playing this game again it still does hold up.

That ending made me sad because it's true, they sacrificed everything for looks even though they had something perfect in 2K14 and if they continued building on top of that we would have some of the best games year after year, 2k14 is such an amazing game, it was like THQ knew that they were going to go out of business and they must have went to Yukes and said, throw everything in and just make the most fun, repayable, epic, crazy, mode and feature heavy game you can so THQ's legacy is immortalised, like the game's tagline, BECOME IMMORTAL

When I first defeated Undertaker as a 10-year-old it was probably my greatest gaming achievement up till that point. That man is no joke.

They did batista dirty by not putting his 2005 wrestlemania match vs triple after he won the royal rumble

2013 was a great year for 2k games in general. NBA 2k14 was also one of the best 2k basketball games

WWE 2K14 will forever hold a special in my heart as it was the first game (at all) that I played on my new Xbox 360. Up until that point, All I had was the Wii to play the previous WWE games on.

I love this game so much that i have it on PS3 and i just got myself an X360 and my dummy ass bought the game again, 2 copies of this GOAT level game. Just reliving my childhood with the Ruthless Aggression is so satisfying !

Did anyone remember when with the free camera you was able to watch the inside face of the referee and wrestler? Now WWE games are too easy even on legend difficulty, you hit three finishers and you win. But in WWE 2K14 with the Undertaker streak... Even if you do 5\6\7\8 finisher Taker still kicks out. I remember that if you walk beside Taker he will submit you with the Hell's Gate outta nowhere 😂 Break the Streak was so entertaining, I remember doing 4 Sweet chin music and Taker still managed to kick out. But one time I was going for the fifth Sweet chin music, I put Shawn near the corner then... Blackout, Taker is behind be, he turns Shawn for the tombstone, I reverse it (I don't know how) I put taker down with a Dropkick, then I go to the corner Sweet chin Music connects!!! 1, 2, 3!!! I beat taker's streak with HBK!

I’m still making caws to this day, this game is so much damn fun man, the replay value alone makes it worth it. Create a story gives you unlimited amounts of content and why they never brought it back is beyond me.

10 years on and the series still has not recovered. 2K22 and 23 shook things up a little bit but also took some of the actually good things out that 2K19 and the simulation ones actually still had… either way, none since then have had the magic of the THQ era games.

30 yrs of wrestlemania was sooooooo damn good. I remember playing Flair vs Michaels at WM24 one of my favorite matches of all time and reliving this in a Video game with the „Im sorry i love you“ is just too good. Oh and that Ric Flair attire with this dope as Coat…damn

Modders are still keeping this game alive y’all!! Trust me I have a modded version of WWE 2k14 and it’s literally the only game I play!

The first WWE game I ever played was WWE All Stars. At nine years old, I played games like SVR 2011, 10, WWE 12, 13 and 2K15. They were great. But when I played this for the first time, it was love at first sight. I return to 2K14 almost every month. This game made me love Wrestling games. I will forever love this game

Wwe 2k14 was my favorite Wrestling game ever, I remember getting a Game Informer magazine and looking to see what games were coming out, Then I saw this game with Triple H and The Undertaker in a hell in a cell and Shawn Michaels as the Ref. Just like real life, I was so hype when I got it. The storyline was great just everything about this game was great

I was just thinking of how now we have like everyone on the roster but it never feels like it, it still feels incomplete even though it isn't really but in 2K14 it feels complete, it feels like you have more people you want to play as in this game compared to now and I think it's because everyone becomes more engaging to play as when the gameplay is that good

this game is literally what got me into wrestling, i wasn’t even a wrestling i just wanted to play this game because it looked so fun

Imagine the gameplay, myrise, customization and graphics of 2K22 With all the positives of 2K14. That would truly be an ideal game.

2k14 was a bop, I experienced it late in 2020 but it’s my fav wwe game. Create a finisher, create a storie, the hidden Eddie character, wrestlemania history, a lot of characters, and theme songs as a soundtrack, so amazing

A great game. And i remember when playing beat the streak if you picked someone who already faced Taker at Mania, it would default the arena to the one it happened in in real life.

I believe that 2K14 was the perfect game, amazing gameplay, diverse modes and match types, customization was at its peak, and the level of creativity was through the roof. It simply had everything you wanted in a wrestling game, the rosters were juiced and the created finishers was the most fun and dumb thing ever. It took longer for me to make a finisher than making a fully detailed CAW cause I always wanted to make the stupidest things. 3 stunners and a piledriver in one move? Dumb but brilliant.

WWE 12 - 2K14 highly underrated

I just remembered the headaches I use to get while playing 30 years of wrestle mania the whole day and making cartoon characters and more like marvel

Its a shame 2k never kept the infinite finisher, cause for universe mode, sometimes a squash match is fun to do, not everything needs to be 33 minutes

I repaired my 360 after 4 years and my 2k14 CD still works fine even after 8 freakin years. It was so nostalgic to see all my created wrestlers again after 4 years gap. This is the best game ever for Pro wrestling.

This was my favorite wrestling game since the N64 days. The roster was great, the CAW mode was good enough that you could make any wrestler that was missing, and you could still add custom theme music! Entrance music has always been such a big part of wrestling game, I hate that you can 't add custom themes anymore.

Rip THQ, you were the best in making WWE games

You convinced me to pick this up and the showcase grind for characters actually ended up being the most fun I've had in a wrestling game since SVR 07. You aren't joking about the Taker challenge though. First couple tries drove me fucking crazy.

WrestlingGifs, I strongly recommend you get WWE 2K16 and 2K17 for PS3 or Xbox 360. It is much better than the trash Next Gen versions of the games. After they quit making wwe games for PS3 I fell out of love with wwe games. The controls on the new games are so terrible it makes me want to cry. Still to this day I play 2K14, 16, & 17 on PS3.

This is my favorite wrestling game of all-time, And hardly makes any Wrestling games Top 10 lists, And whener it does? its right at the bottom, I dont understand how ppl say the day of Reckoning games are better, When tnis game literally gave you nearly everything you could ask for from a wrestling game up to that point.This one of the most underapppreciated wrestling games of all-time. I remember I was so excited about this game it was the first game I ever preordered. The first I started playing it, it kept freezing my Xbox. Until one day the game some how broke its WiFi connection. But I still played it. Then my brother and cousin broke the game disc. And it wasn’t until a couple months ago I bought it again.

I was mad when the servers for this game were gone. I remember people going back to 2K14 when 15 was out cause it didn’t have story mode and all the other in stuff in 14

Probably my favorite WWE game to date, I originated on either SVR or SVR 06,, was too young to remember mainly because it wasn't one I owned, but have very little memory. 07 was the true first game I remember playing, that and 08 were blasts I had as a kid, eventually I did end up playing 09, but I barely played that again due to it not being mine and it was on the wii. I played 2010 because my mom rented it played that as much as I could until it was returned. After that I didn't really play any WWE games, but I did play All Star for a pretty long time, which I really did enjoy, but i was saddened I couldn't play any of the fun modes like Hell In A Cell and stuff, eventually my mom let me buy 2k14 and man that game I spent so many hours on and loved every second of it, so much to it and all. If this game were backwards compatible with Xbox One/PS5 I'd still be playing it today

I know it’s pretty obscure but wwe 2k14 had one of the best music options imo. They didn’t have classics like the old svr games but they had a lot of memorable songs that never get old like hulk Hogan’s theme and Randy Ortons old theme, etc.

Actually, Virgil was a free DLC for the game. Every DLC pack came out with one free character. From what I can recall the reason for this was so you had the file for the DLC in your file to avoid problems with fighting other players who had the dlc.
