Doug Walker joins Brad to count down the 10 worst films of the year! From Dolittle to The Witches to The Bobbleheads Movie and Trump Card, lets relive all of these memories! Subscribe: / stonedgremlinproductions Twitter: / thecinemasnob
On today's episode of WHAT DID WE LEARN, we learned that Doug gives DISNEY+ content and shits on their half-assed movies. The man doing the lord's work
Assassin 33 deleted scene: "Hey Jesus, yeah it's your cousin Marvin ... Marvin Christ. You know that new religion you've been looking for? Well listen to this!"
When real life feels like your in a horror film. It was hard for me watching any film. But Bill and Ted 3 was kinda like a a few shots of Jack Daniels during hard times.
Listening to Brad talk about movies feels like being 5 years old listening to Siskel and Ebert. I do not know what you're talking about and why you think I've seen this. But it's amazing.
If you were to ask me what the worst movie of 2020 was, I would say it's a tie between "365 Days" and "Cuties" - because both of those movies are absolute cringe from start to finish.
Yay. Was looking forward to this. It’s so odd that when anyone puts out a “Best List” I’m like “meh” but when it’s a worst of I nearly destroy my phone trying to push the button.
So Tom Savini would pick a audience member to watch at his films to watch them get more and more scared, it was refer to as an “anatomy of a heart attack”where as with Doolittle you have the “anatomy of a nervous breakdown” where you watch someone lose their mind
@@OYEntertainment Nobody really cares about that controversy anymore. I suspect that most of his "friends" who cut ties did so to separate their individual channels from the controversy (Stuckmann, Linkara, Angry Joe etc.) while Brad is an actual friend.
Doug wants an epic Mulan movie? Then he should try Hau Mulan (2009; also goes by Mulan: Rise of a Warrior). It is so good, and the reason I wasn't too interested in the remake (despite liking almost all of the other ones). I love the Disney animated film, and would have likely enjoyed if they had stuck pretty close to that, but when I found out they were getting rid of Mushu and the songs, I just thought "but I already have that movie in Hau Mulan". I mean I liked the 2009 film so much I bought the dvd off eBay while only an hour or so into the film, so I had very little interest for the Disney remake.
I love stories about essential things that were put off because “we’ll figure it out later” like with Die Hard. It happens in music too. “1979” - Smashing Pumpkins was recorded on the very last day they had in the studio when Billy Corgan was just screwing around trying to make that song work, and they put it on the album at the last minute which led to it being one of their biggest hits.
Fun fact: this is actually the first worst movies of a year video Doug's released his worst of movies since 2010 aka the start/end of the previous decade as yeah he hasn't really done this in a while. Heck in that last I think he had Kick Ass as one of his worst movies of 2010... which was one of Brad's favorite of that year though heh pretty sure they'll be much more on the same page NOW then last decade.
I mean.....it was alright but like you know how every kid's movies you try to understand they're personality and they're movement, they're ups and downs personality,we always want that and the comedy and action. But here on the bobbleheads movie it just making you a bit dizzy because of how you're trying to understand the situation and the characters personality but no their heads always move around, there was some comedy and I guess good effort. It just if you want to make a bobbleheads movie a great movie, you gotta make it better
Wait.....there was a Bobbleheads movie?!? What?!? What the fuck?!? P.S. - When are Lloyd, Chaplin, Butters and Ike gonna get together to review 2019's 'Cats'?
Why you wouldn't make a Roald Dahl movie in stop motion is beyond me. It suits the feel of the story and slightly-off-kilter Quentin Blake illustrations so well.
I'll have you know that it's false to state Doug is the only critic on Rotten Tomatoes to be quoted for "Faith Under Fire". He's one of two... Still hilarious though...
The new Scream is being made by the guys that did Ready or Not. I think it's going to pretty damn good. It better be at least. It certainly won't be The Grudge.
I had no idea there was a new Scream coming out. The idea that it's from the people who did "Ready Or Not" (which is seriously one of the best funny horror movies I've seen for a long time) just warms my soul.
@Luke Mc Ehh. Yes and no. They want new people to come and see it especially since Scream 4 tanked. They (the studio) don't want the newbies not to come because it is part 5. (that's what they are thinking I presume.. right or wrong) As a huge Scream fan since seeing it in theaters with my parents when I was too you to see it.. yeah I kinda hate it too. But I get it. I want it to succeed, especially if it's good. *fingers crossed*
Its funny to me how people these guys used to work with are STILL talking shit about them on twitter, and they're just out here doing what they do best. My only complaint is that this video could use more Dave. But I think every internet video could be improved with more Dave.
How about just pile it together with Fantasy Island, for a compilation vote of ALL the bad "Blumhouse's" name-brand attempts to think they could remake anything after the Halloween movie, and end up with Black Christmas? And that's assuming they liked "Blumhouse's Invisible Man", which was Universal's discarded attempt at a franchise movie the same way "Blumhouse's Fantasy Island" was Sony's attempt at a classic-TV franchise after that chik-flik Charlie's Angels reboot.
“I wish she was the main character” Funny thing is, Holly IS the main protagonist of Artemis Fowl. Artemis is THE VILLAIN. He’s kid Hans Gruber. He’s not a misunderstood edgy anti hero.
I absolutely detest the Artemis Fowl movie. Easily the worst of 2020. The weirdest thing is that the book really wouldn’t have been that hard to adapt as it’s not very long. But still they decided to butcher the entire book and all the characters
@@chasehedges6775 Safe to say its one of the ones you don't have to worry about....It didn't do well, it wasn't liked...They're only doing live action remakes of the ones that did well and people actually liked....They're not doing Atlantis or Treasure Planet, they weren't good and one was just Treasure Island with space boats.
I saw "What A Nightmare, Charlie Brown", and yes, I liked it, but I noticed that Charlie Brown is the only kid character to appear in that special, even though he's only the 1st few minutes, and in the end.
Yes, he is, and I love the part where Snoopy becomes "The Musher", and Charlie Brown, with the harness on, runs, and Snoopy has fun riding in the sled. The good news for Charlie Brown is that no other kid saw this, and had weird thoughts about what they saw. So, he can get away with it, and I like that.
I interviewed Craig Muckler who was a producer on Angry Asian Murder Hornets and he is passionate about this film. I tend to lean towards Brad's opinion. However, I believe Muckler would be open to connect with Brad Jones. That is a conversation that is worth seeing.
The best version of fantasy Island is the one with Malcolm McDowell that was so short-lived. He was an awesome Mr. Rourke and they were Wove in elements from the Midsummer nights Dream or was it the tempest? I can’t recall but it was awesome
"The Witches" gave me an idea. Have you considered a series of videos where you compare a remake to the original? Personally I was excited for the remake of "Watcher in the Woods", but Melissa Joan Hart killed it. Witch Mountain with Dwayne Johnson was passable, Mulan was 'meh'. So many to choose from...
@@randalgraves6979 More like better vs worse. Some films are best left in their original form, while others genuinely benefit from a tweaked story and better effects. "The Thing" by John Carpenter comes to mind.
@@randalgraves6979 If so, I apologize for not catching the videos before, hard to keep up on everything with 2 kids in lockdown. Will look into ASAP when time allows, thanks for the heads up. I guess some good ideas are universal, if not original.
I didn't see a single new movie this year. I honestly had a hard time even trying to remember any films that were released in 2020, looks like I didn't miss much.
So glad to see Secret society of the second born royals on Doug's list.I hated that movie with a passion.I was bored, insulted and the foreign actors drove me crazy.Screw that film Disney should be ashamed.
I will never see The Haunting of Jonestown (I have seen Guyana: Cult of the Damned) but it does have an interesting concept at its core, namely a survivor of the mass suicide being haunted by these events. I doubt that anyone would get over them. I watched the trailer and looked like exploitation trash. If done right it could have been very good.
Disney discouraging ethnic or gender stereotypes is like if Harvey Winestein opened a charity for assaulted women after he was exposed. I guess it's a good thing, but the fact that they have become so powerful and gained so much from work involving the things they are now discouraging is not only hollow, but also kinda insulting. Especially when we know the real reason that they do it.
The baseball bobbleheads were around in the 80s, yep. Superhero ones and the like are more Funkopop crossover ones. That's new from just the past decade.
@@fritzy8318 according to Brad, there was a full on song about abortion in that movie. The way he describes it to Rob in that review is priceless because Rob’s reaction is exactly yours.
I definitely considered this lol, but the only reason I left it off was because it hasn't officially been released yet. The year it gets an official release date, I think it'll definitely make the list.
On Artemis Fowl... or at least its director... I saw Kenneth Branagh's version of "Murder on the Orient Express". I love the 1976 version of MotOE. It's by far the best Agatha Christie adaptation put to film IMO (sorry 1945 "And then there were none" fans, but it doesn't come close.) I was shocked how unimpressive the Branagh version was to me. Excellent actors were reading their lines like they were actually reading their lines off a screen somewhere, like they hadn't prepared. It had some of the worst performances from otherwise good actors. It also didn't have very good scoring, not very good cinematography (everything just looks too warm and plastic), etc. It was the second whodunnit movie I saw that week, the first being a silly horror comedy called "Happy Death Day". How was the silly horror movie a better whodunnit than the Agatha Christie adaptation? How is that possible? I remember "Conspiracy", which was the Kenneth Branagh movie about the Nazi conference where the "final solution" is agreed. Chillingly brilliant movie, with a mixture of great character actors and big stars like Colin Firth, Ian MacNiece, Stanley Tucci and Barnaby Kay giving amazing performances. I also remember his four-hour adaptation of "Hamlet", which is way better than you'd think it would be. I'm a Branagh fan. But I look at his recent filmography and I think: "What's happened to you?"
On the same topic, what the heck happened to Disney? Anybody remember when the name "Disney" usually meant the movie would be good? Ok, it also usually meant that the villain would be either gay or British (or, in the somewhat baffling case of Scar, both) but still... I used to like their movies!
