well there are two sure fire ways to counter armor lock is plasma grenades. you stick them before they enter the ability, & you will get a kill from the grenades emp effect even when in armor lock. alternatively you can wait a moment for it to expire then throw it when its still active. the lock / grenade will time out at the exact same time.
I don't think its bad. I would say its more useable than hologram. Hologram is the hardest to master and use. it requires alot of thinking. but camo also requires alot of thinking too. You gotta learn how to use it to master it, but once you do its very rewarding.
The Camo is absolutely HORRIBLE IN REACH BECAUSE YOU CANNOT RUN TO STAY HIDDEN YOU HAVE TO MOVE RELLY SLOW, BUT IN HALO INFINITE, IT FREAKING SCARES ME BECAUSE THE SPARTANS AND ELITES THAT USE IT ARE EXTREMELY HARD TO SPOT.....
I play Halo very differently with ac compared to any other ability (or Halo multiplayer) going solo it's great for weeding out annoying players. you kinda have to treat the game like metal gear solid: crouch walking, waiting for enemies to pass by or look elsewhere, and using ac to cut through no mans land areas. once you find a target you can freak them out by popping ac from somewhere safe but close, making them fire and probably waste a grenade or two which will make it easier to tell what you're up against. when you're ready you can pop ac again and line up your shot, then it's just a matter of connecting more than them. bonus points if you stick them instead coordinating with a team it's great for catching enemy players off guard. if you approach a contested area separate from your team and pop ac, you can pull attention away from them while they're gearing to make a move. if you approach a contested area with your team you can use ac to probe it ahead of others. in my opinion, ac works best with teammates once you get used to the jammer it's relatively easy to discern actual players from fake ones (there are only three or four patterns for the jammer to use). this makes players who don't know the patterns much easier to sneak up on, since they have a harder time telling where you are among all the fake blips. when I'm up against players who do know the patterns, I find it can be a lot of fun trying to outwit them with teamwork, positioning and timing naturally, sometimes it's just more fun or practical to go with sprint or maybe jetpack, but I will say there's nothing quite like watching people have miniature breakdowns trying to find you :)
I never used it back then because I was too stupid. But when MCC came to pc I used it all the time for the mainly for just the jam. I would use it to move freely with out giving my actual position if I had a sniper or rocket. And if I had a close range weapon I'd use it to make them slow down and look around just to assassin creed drop on them with a hammer or shotgun.
-never claimed to play for a decade, just said I played on release. Stopped playing around 2012, picked it back up only because of mcc release on pc. If I forgot about those armor abilities, I’m sure it’s because they’re only in 1-2 game modes, not really relevant to bring them up when the other 5 abilities are prominent in matchmaking.
@you esaye Are you somehow implying that Evade/Drop Shield are irrelevant in a discussion about Armor Abilities, solely because they aren't featured prominently in general matchmaking? I disagree if that was the point you were implying. Both abilities are present in Invasion, which is where I personally played the most (I've been playing since the beta of Reach all the way back to 2010). Evade/Drop Shield are regularly featured in Invasion, both in matchmaking and custom gameplay. Speaking for myself, I play significantly more custom games than default matchmaking, so all of Reach's sandbox items are relevant to me. -I wasn't purposefully greentexting, I just was highlighting a point he said in the video and including a reply to it. I understand the similarities to greentexting though.
@you esaye The title of the video doesn't specify only BTB & Slayer gameplay. The creator never specified he was referring to the armor abilities in the vacuum of BTB & Slayer gameplay. On that note, I recall Heavy BTB does have a Drop Shield loadout, so I continue to disagree with the dismissal of Evade/Drop Shield. I am utterly unsure why, but you're outright hostile to the notion of Evade/Drop Shield being legitimate armor abilities. You've engineered your own little criteria on what armor abilities are considered legitimate, and Evade/Drop Shield are null according to you. You've even resorted to one-sided insults/hostility to declare Evade/Drop Shield are null abilities.
@you esaye The video does show only BTB gameplay, but even so the creator didn't state he was strictly referring to BTB/Slayer gameplay. If he was, he made it unclear as the video title nor does the creator exactly state he was speaking of BTB/Slayer gameplay. Try to see this through my perspective. You play mostly Invasion and it's your favorite way to play Reach. You even make entire Invasion maps. Evade/Drop Shield are very commonly seen abilities to you and suddenly, a person just declared they're irrelevant and null; even though you personally consider them to be powerful abilities more so than Sprint/Jetpack (depending on circumstances).
I never thought it bad. Useless in campaing, but pretty good in multiplayer. They truly made it useless in Halo 4, because in there using it creates this massive blue blob on the motion tracker telling everyone where you are..
That guy tanking the rocket.....the latest update might of broke reach a little. On the mission long night, none of the seraphs spawn at the start except the one that crashes.
Who tf thinks active camo is bad?? Not only did I see quite a bit of people use it effectively on the 360, but that hologram and armor lock were used the least and are easily the worst. Those two are niched to the point of only having a few use cases, with everyone who aren't complete noobs knowing exactly how to counter them when going against. Hell, holograms are instantly easy to spot, especially if the user's armor isn't default since nobody just walks in a straight line doing nothing, and armor lock literally just slows down your inevitable death with rare exceptions. Hope you know that the reason why armor lock hate still persists to this day is because it's the worst armor ability, since its purpose is just to be annoying.
