As someone who is in New England, we're having weird weather this summer; there was a confirmed EF-2 in RI yesterday, plus 3 smaller tornados in MA and maybe one in CT. This isn't even the first time its happened here in the last month. We don't have tornado sirens here, we get alerts to our phones, but people rarely take them seriously, because its New England, we just don't get stroms like this, and people don't know how to prepare.

It's definitely been a miserable summer for building stuff. I'm looking forward to something tropical coming this way, hopefully not another Harvey, but rain is rain. Praying for a low that doesn't get a chance to spin and rain that that falls gently and for a while. @@lindakluth5611 Yes, Linda. My grandfather (R.I.P.) was a fire chief in Scotland. He had many stories to tell, and I’ve carried them with me throughout my life. Living in ‘fire country,’ as we do, I’ve lately thought of moving somewhere less dangerous, but where’s that nowadays? We’re a shade long in the tooth to attempt to fit in to another community too. Our solution has been to live in our RV full time for the past seven years, and now we’re working towards paring down to an SUV. Life here is easier when one can move out of harm’s way. Too, being seniors now, we cannot keep up with rising inflation. Living in our new car will be far less expensive, and we have a storage locker for changing seasonal clothes and duvets etc., so we don’t need a lot of room.
