In this video, we will look at the worst hyperinflation in history. It took place in post-war Hungary in 1945. At its peak inflation in Hungary peaked at 41,9 quadrillion percent, which is a massive hyperinflation.
We will also look at the post-war Hungary economy and also Hungary's history, as they play a big part in understanding Hungary's hyperinflation. We begin with 1918 when the Austro-Hungarian empire split up and Hungary had its first hyperinflation.
Then we move on to the end of world war 2, where Hungary has no choice but to print money as Hungary needs to pay a huge amount of war reparations. we will also explain the causes of hyperinflation and explain why hyperinflation is like a hidden tax, and when the trust in a currency is gone, then it is useless.
We also explain Hungary's stabilization plan that is influenced by Germany's hyperinflation in the 1920s. By doing both monetary and fiscal reform, Hungary managed to stabilize prices and regain the trust of the public. And that was the end of the greatest hyperinflation in history.

My grandparents told me stories about those times. They used cash as wallpaper, later they just burned cash to heat. Gold from melted down jewellery was used to buy things they needed. They tought me to never trust paper money, never trust the bank and always have some gold around.

obviously! I mean, when the shit hits the fan, you can at least eat the gold. who needs to stay warm? the idea that precious metals contain some intrinsic value that fiat currency doesn't is absolutely contingent on people believing (incorrectly) that the precious metal has some inherent value. True commodity money - seeds that you could plant/eat - is the only medium that comes close to offering the security that gold bugs think they're "real asset" (gold) has. Now I recognize that it will almost always be the case that we, people, will always like shiny things, and therein lays some of gold's post-apocalyptic value. Some more value comes from nostalgia (it's gotta be worth something) too, but neither one of those (shiny things; it's *always* been worth something) are gonna do you a good goddamn if you're Kevin Kostner, living in a Postman-post-apocalyptic world. Neither will the now empty promises of defunct governments to back their paper currency, I'm not suggesting that at all.... *BUT AT LEAST YOU CAN BURN PAPER MONEY TO KEEP WARM!*

@@TheSnoeedog When global hyperinflation occurs, it will be digital. Gold and silver is not of any use during the apocalypse, it is for use after SHTF to transition in the new paradigm (next time it is your family that creates the hyperinflation crisis by issuing currency).
