A computer algorithm, but the committee can intervene called “comitee intervention” to change a wrestlers seed to a certain extent, there is obviously safe guards in place so they can’t do anything nefarious like make a 12 seed the 1 . But the matrix or whatever the computer is called did have 33 right

Minimum Vito should be on the other side of the bracket from Crookham, they didn't do that because they were protecting Fix, too bad because the whole nation wants to see Crookham and Vito III in the Championship but now that will be in the semi. Which also means that Fix will be 2nd for the 3rd time.

Who ever put 133 together is a Fix fan and gave him the easiest way to the final, I'm hoping Bouzakis takes him out early.

How can Vito be so low when he is a returning national champ AND the two losses are BOTH to Crookham who is conference champ AND then they put Crookham SECOND…WOW, what a slap to them both and a smells like a protection of DF What could a wrestler do to be number 1 more than Crookham?….a conference title, more quality wins than Fix and more matches than Fix

Sportsbetting, has found its way into NCAA Wrestling. It's under the radar, but I know it's available in Iowa. I know Folks do bet on the Hawkeyes Wrestling..

I agree with the seeds, they had 2 medical forfeits, that got wild cards they can't seed them in a top spot......Vito is not wrestling the same as he was the past 3 yrs, he got hurt in the finals of eiw's, but he is wrestling not to lose, the past 3 yrs he was hungry wrestling to win, letting it all fly......they made the right call for how he has performed all season, starrocci hammered the hell out of mekhi lewis earlier in the year

O'Toole v Messenbrink in the 65 final...the rest whatever but that's the match everyone wants to see.

I think Carr is his toughest match. I think he could beat o toole. Keegan has looked tired in a few matches this season

Hamiti had Mesenbrink beat. I was impressed because of how Mesenbrink dismantled other top guys. With a few adjustments Hamiti can make the final.

Well this past summer, Vito won this tiny tournament called “The World Championships.” Seriously, the guy is one of the best 61 kg wrestlers in the world. Being seeded 6th is complete disrespect.

PSU can realistically get 7 guys to the finals. Messenbrink’s three greatest threats are all on the other side and Davis jump to 1 was a surprise. Starocci will be on a tear and they should have put him opposite of Lewis.

They need to have coaches vote or something. Figure out a way to balance this. If you were a previous national champion you should get as one of the top seeds automatically.

the top half of 174 is criminal. It has 3 NCAA champs in the top half and the entire bottom half of 174 has 1 previous AA. that is insane. Im not against them punishing people for losses but the only person they punished in this bracket was Mekhi. They really couldnt give carter the 6, 7 or 10? Especially, he has a win over Welsh who is the 6! That bracket is rough and as a PSU fan feel awful for Mekhi

Do you think because William’s was a medical forfeit in the finals of the Big 13 and they are trying to prevent people from MF they hit him hard? He tried to wrestle but couldn’t finish the match. The ISU guy was rewarded for injuring Williams. Plus the way William’s handled the ISU kid before he got hurt should add to his resume of how slick he was because the ISU kid was dominating people on the backside of the bracket.

I think what got Williams down in the seeds was his winning percentage. He is only 14-7 vs D1 wrestlers compared to Swiderski's 20-3. Williams also took some "bad" Ls on the year too.

This biggest travesty occurred at 165lbs. Carr should have been a 2 seed. The fact O’Toole and Carr may meet in the semifinal instead of the final is pure stupidity. It was set up to insure PSU gets to the finals. Messenbrink is a stud. Do not get me wrong. But why he is seeded above Carr is beyond any logical, supportable explanation. Just my opinion.

@@jackmcg0 you are correct. I forgot they did not wrestle at their dual and Ramirez beat Carr 4-3 at CKLV. Notwithstanding the same, it seems to me Carr’s well documented body of work seems to have been ignored. Moreover, Ramirez lost Olejnik. Carr handily beat Olejnik. Where do you stop? Then again, look at what happened to three time national champion Starocci.

While I see the logic behind why they put Carr so low, sometimes it seems so obvious to everyone that the "algorithm" is so off. Seems like sometimes we need to be able to add a little common sense into the algo sometimes haha. And tbh imo they should factor in past national champ status, when they dont seems like they are ignoring a huge chunk of data.
