Honestly I thought the thing with camels only spawning once per village was a placeholder, but I guess every village in deserts across the world decided to have 1 and only 1 camel…
I like em. They're still decently fast if you use their sprint and the jump has been pretty handy. It probably won't affect most people, but it can also go up 1.5 tall blocks automatically, which is cool
Bear in mind how much easier it is to traverse over rivers with the camel. The dash gets you over most of it, and it's height lets you swim across the river on its back for longer before being kicked off
It's so sad that they don't walk properly. One of the trademarks of a camel in real life is that it walks by moving both legs on one side, but in Minecraft it's just a normal walking animation :(
I actually like the camel, you can sprint on it which makes it go faster and it’s good for battle: 1. You can have two people 2. You can go over fences and walls 3. And three zombies and mobs like that can’t attack you
I got one, and I actually love the camel. Not only does it have normal and sprint mode, but words cannot describe how useful the long jump is for crossing rivers.
My world is 7 years old, so I had to go really far out to find it so I moved a camel 13,000 blocks across the overworld, across several oceans (THEY DON'T GO IN BOATS) to get it back to my house.
I feel like camels should just spawn naturally in the desert and instead, the village camels can have special saddles already equipped (like the wandering trader llama).
