You can see him coming down the Middle route and I'm guessing he thought the runner would go Right. But he didn't. Zachiuess had his back to the Kickoff team so he couldn't see how the rest of the blocking was developing to see why the runner didn't break towards that side. Thus both ended up in the middle and that little push helped make it happen.

It's the Wonky new kickoffs. You saw how little time it had to develop their blocking with that Zachiuess one. Adapting to being able to position players to actually block and set up Lanes will take time. Returning kicks was on of the things I did when I played and it always felt like you had Forever back there to have blocking get set up. Watching that play with the Zachiuess dude, The Returner didn't have more than 5 steps before the other team was there. I think we finally are at the point where all the Rule Changes for "Safety" and Profit (extra games/wild card) are ruining the product as a whole. NFL doesn't want Special Teams anyways

That was NOT Lamar's fault. I'm not even a Ravens fan but that had nothing to do with him. The ref was there and didn't get out of the way. Lamar went back and apologized for it after the fact anyway

When Jackson decides to run over 20 yards backwards, as all QBs do, then the umpire starts backpedaling faster.
