Kalas _85 Yeah because most people are gonna either burn the copies like The Completionist did to Sneak King or smash them like TheRetroReplay did to Bubsy 3D.
C Ziggy Sorry Ziggy. I was just getting something off my chest. It feels like there's an obnoxious group of people who think that physical copies are the only way to buy a game & that any title that's digital only is automatically worse because it's not physical. Therefore any title to them that's sold physically & digitally that they consider bad is automatically made worse because it was sold digitally in addition to physically and would've been better if it was physical only. Do you get where I'm coming from?
Bunnyboy King Of course but you need to understand that stigma. There are factually way more digital games that are terrible as opposed to not many bad physical games. Most physical games are competent. Whereas a loooooot of digital games simply are not. Because for 1 the costs of putting them up for sale are miniscule as opposed to the manufacturing costs of a physical game which also means that the companies putting the money in for physical releases have those funds available to them which more or less means they had a good chunk of money for development and they are happy putting the game on a shelf for people to look at and buy. 2 much smaller less competent developers chug out these digital only games because there isn't much curation going on behind the scenes which means you can get away with a lot more and still get free money while also pumping out easy to make crap.
My husband bought this game for us to play together but we can’t even make it through the opening video. Every bit of it has been lagging. We were able to watch half of this video and it only made it though about 3 mins of the intro. Very disappointing. We were looking forward to the co-op aspect in this game.
You would think that people in game company's like Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo would care to test every game themselves before they give the go ahead to release them no matter how bad the game is but not release games if it has a ton of bugs that would affect game play and they would send them back to game developers until they fix the bugs and glitches. But no. They only care about the money.
gjk-2015 can't check every game I guess lol and the companies who made the games should care for the quality of it and know they won't make much money if it sucks but they don't care and Sony and Microsoft and Nintendo etc know broken games won't make them money so them only caring for money in this case doesn't really make sense...but if this game can get a physical release then give me NBA playground physical release (I wanna try it out) sonic mania, and rocket league! Is that to much to ask for
CarbonH20Unit , at least in the Nintendo platform these brokenesk type games really stick out compared to the amount of quality Nintendo brings out. Oh my god... now i know why third party are not bringing games to Nintendo platform becouse they are scared that our quality standards are high where the other consoles simply accept there crap, even if its a small thing.
Nes, Snes, n64, Gc, Wii, WiiU and now Switch. Got a terrible games too. Unfinished, glitchy and bugy. Ohhh thats right, you hasn't played Superman 64 before right?
Man I remember when Nintendo checked about every video game before letting it go to store and even added extra things to their console just to stop this stuff
Yeah, I got this game last week. I didn't experience any bugs but I hated the controls. It was so awkward walking around and it made doing anything in the game so hard. The problem is you are given fps controls instead of 3rd person platformer controls (basically left/right shouldn't be set to strafe). Oh and there needs to be a lock on mechanic. I took the game back the next day and returned it.
I really enjoyed it, until I met a game breaking bug. I was in the trolls cave if I stepped too close to a wall on certain spots I would get stuck in frame, unable to move while still showing the animation of me moving. I contacted the devs and they just didn't seem to care. That's what turned me off the devs didn't care.
RGT 85 I'd like to get that copy from you since you hate it so much lol. I really want to try it but I trust your reviews so I'm scared to spend $30 on it. Though I did get RBI and love it it's just tough. If you would send it to me email me please at filyaw.chris@gmail.com. Love your vids and your theme music is addictive!
My local game store is near enough giving this away and I thought "Why is a switch game so cheap? Is it that bad?" I'm so glad to look it up first. PS: Sorry for your $30 loss
When I saw preview stuff for this, it reminded me of the underrated gem for the 360 and PS3, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, but... uh... I suppose not. Also, this game got a pretty firm marketings push for a small game. I remember seeing magazine ads and a small banner for it at my local Walmart
I brought this game physical on prime preorder for £17.99, was playing BOTW beforehand in master mode. Put the cart in all the animations stutter and the voices don't match the mouth movements, take it straight out and get back to Zelda. At least I can trade it in I guess.
The worst part is about this game is if you bought it on the PS4 or Xbox One or PC because it cost $50 I guess they knew the game was going to be bad so they made it so $30 on the Switch
Hi RGT! Love your channel, watch it almost every other day. Im going to say the same thing I say to all these people who are Nintendo fans please do not get offended. Stop buying their products, Nintendo will never learn unless they hit rock bottom. All these people with the Nintendo Switch jumped on the bandwagon and are now fully seeing its going to have the same fate as the WiiU. They will release a few decent first party games, but all these third party games/Indie titles will be garbage. Of course there will be a few here and there that are great, but the majority of them will be utter garbage. I have read countless forums, twitter posts of people saying phrases like "my Switch is collecting dust" or "my Switch is a paper weight". I hope more people will start to wake up and see how Nintendo is taking everyone along for the ride......
My mum opened an Amazon package and got a new copy of the game. She looked at all her amazon purchases and her online banking account, and it was never mentioned. It’s obvious that it came from her account and no one in my family even knew about the game itself, never mind why we got a free copy. I’m glad I watched this. Now I have hopes of selling it to a GameStop (I left it in the plastic). Thanks!
Thanks for saving me $$$. My kid saw the box and wanted this game; showed him some videos and reviews and they all mostly say the game sucks. The troll gets in your way more than helping.
if u power the switch all the way off then power it back on it will fix the bug, or at least it fixed the jittery way the game was running.i had a part where you climb over a wall and it would go into a endless loading screen now it plays fine
Oh come on, Vroom in the Night Sky isn't that bad. Then again, I have a horrible bias towards seeing the charm of a poor translation and admire a game trying to replicate an older art style.
I am crying laughing at your reaction to the sound glitch bug! hahaha I was tempted to buy this game as it reminds me of Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom.. Guess I'll wait until it's in the bargain bin for €5 lol
Hey, that error screen came up when I was playing the phantom trigger, I called the Nintendo support and they told me that I had to format the console, I did and that problem was fixed, I think it's a console error, not the game.
Thanks RGT85, not buying it at all nor any games from that developer. Totally agreed with your anger, if you can't play the thing then what's the whole point about it?
eskimo joe good luck finding one when everyone wants a switch for Odyssey and the Holidays. If you really want the system you should try and get it now. I still have friends who have been trying to get a switch since after launch
It's quite a shame. Although the game looks a bit rough, the premise and some of the gameplay mechanics shown in the footage look like it had some potential.
This awful game came with the switch I just bought. I tried it. There is a part in the beginning where you have to jump over and slide under burning trees.. towards the end of the run there is one tree that when I jump over it send me into a wall and I burn to death. Literally happened EVERY time I tried it. The damn wall isn't even on fire. This is unplayable. This is not worth the money. It's not worth 5 bucks.
Wow, I never had it crash on me like that, or fail to read the card. I ran into a bug shortly after where your's crashed that pervented me from progressing in the game. I climbed to the top of a cliff, and the first time I fell through the map and had to reset the game. Then the second time it threw me across the map, and killed me... waiting for a patch...
As a QA lead I can safely say they most likely did have the game tested but refused to fix a lot of bugs probably due to time constraints. But the fact that it was delayed and these issues still made it through makes no sense to me. Hopefully they at least fix the major issues in a patch and it becomes a 'hidden gem' or something. And no, I have no association with this title, the developer or publisher. This is just me speaking from past experiences but I'm sure they had their reasons. Maybe they were working on some bigger project and just didn't have the resources to polish this one. I just hope this doesn't keep people from trying future titles they release. Unless it's a trend with their games, dunno much about the devs or publishers of this game.
I should have watched this before I bought the game. I had the same problems you had! Funny this is when I picked it up at game stop my copy was the only copy in the entire store😅. When returned it it still is the only copy!
Yo Yo RGT 85 really good review bro. I am disappointed that Troll and I is so bad look like it could have been a nice little title on the Switch it's ashame.
I’m not sure you could’ve handled gaming back in the NES days. Sometime we would spend over an hour trying to blow on cartridges and reload them over and over again until they played. 99.9% of the time if you persistent enough, you got to play the game. Some of us were able to open the games, replace the batteries and fix the problems ourselves. When you have so many options of not only games, but platforms and emulators now, it’s hard to understand why people get so emotional over issues like that. Today you can just return a game and get a refund. Or wait and clearly they’ll release a patch, as it seems they have with this game. It works fine now. If it’s not something like this, it’s someone getting upset bc the game creators didn’t design the game perfectly to your liking so you write nasty emails. It does go to show you the difference in the level of entitlement there is today vs back when games were nothing more than a wild frontier we were just tapping into. This is way over the top with emotions. It’s just a game and you always have the option of either returning it for a refund, or if you bought it second hand then resell it second hand to get your money back. But definitely not worth getting red faced over.
Yeah i played and finished it....not the WORST GAME ive played in my life but definitely the buggiest by far. That error happened multiple times, not reading the card and just randomly getting stuck in walls and having to restart....really not cool that it was released in the state it is....R400 in SA and yeah as you said, could have been a good 4-5 game but alas......they got us good. Ill definitely hold up on buying the next game made by them before reviews (even though i had seen one or two and still decided to get it anyway)
I was going to buy this game, but thanks for the heads up. My son is autistic and loves games, but the bugs in this game would have spun his mind into oblivion. Thanks
This game is the reason I always look for reviews *before* buying a game. Yes, I didn't do it before buying this game, I was totally lost, completely unplayable because of the flickering.
Everything you said is true. The glitches, the bugs, the crashing. I got it free with my Switch at the Airport duty free. I like the fact that you recognise something in the core which was worth playing.
I was about a 1hr or 2 into the game and decided to try co-op with my brother. He was the troll, he threw a rock to close up to portal thing and i was standing to close to it and it had me falling into a light purple abyss and it auto saved like that so everytime i loaded it up i was still falling into the abyss. I had to restart from the beginning. My brother has his own copy and i have mine and we are both at the end of the game finally, but i have ran into so many glitches and bugs its unreal.
I'm surprised Nintendo allowed this game to be released on their console, between this and Life of Black Tiger on the PS4, I'm starting to think that neither company bothers with quality control testing anymore.
Yeah I was going off on Spiral House on Twitter. I wasn't aware of the terrible reviews before purchase and I couldn't even get 20 minds into the game before I got the neverending loading screen. I feel personally ripped off by this damn game that I was SO excited for.
Glitches and bugs killed this game and i actually thought it was a great idea. Edit: i would give the game a few more months and try it out again, hopefully by then they fix majority of the glitches.
"for $30 I'm not expecting the world" That's funny cos I paid half the price for Fast RMX on switch and that's basically a lower res PS4 title on the go. It's as if the devs are lazy and couldn't be bothered to make the game look good
They were just not accepting their failure Game releases on multiple platform, and failed Publisher: Oh, it's not a bad game. It just has so many IPs to compete agains. Many more people is just buying other well-known IPs. We should release it on a successful platform with very few games… The Switch!!! Game releases on Switch, still failed
If this and Vroom are seriously the worst games people have played, even as a collector, you haven't played that many games. People use this 'bad game' thing to sound special and gather in some easy hype views, these games aren't the best, sure, but they are far from being the worst.
You are right...this may be the worst game ever made. It's up there with Superman 64! It was awesome hanging out with you at the Southeast Game Exchange!
My first play through I encountered a bug that I don't know what it's called. That ledge you're supposed to climb right before teaming up with the troll Otto goes right through the mountain right under the ground texture, the only thing I can do at that point is go to the pause menu. I reset the data and started over again, this time no issues, only got up to the point right after the title, no problems so far. Haven't played it since, and it's a good thing given what you experienced, now I regret getting this game. Too bad, the game sounded good, but that don't mean squat given how broken it is.
I was going to buy troll and I , as I liked the premise of it and it looked like a halfway decent game plus it would have filled my itch for another Zeldaish 3d puzzle game...but Im glad I waited on this one because it appears to be garabage , it does suck because its a really orginal concept for a game and it had potential to be a great game, It makes me wonder where it went wrong , did they run out of money and not be able to afford proper quality assurance because from the start it looks like a big job for a indie game and it has some depth to it with the crafting, and the whole switching from troll to person mechanic....its not the most beautiful game but its decent for a indie game, if they had waited another 6 months to polish n test , it might have been a completely different game.........The worst part of the whole situation is the Developer blamed the Switch for a couple of bugs and blamed a Switch OS memory leak for a game breaking glitch, when its that the game is the memory leak and doesnt reallocate the used up RAM , which causes constant problems , this is one of those games that was so poorly tested that it prob could brick your system
Why does everyone call out Superman 64? This is not me defending that piece of trash. Trash is probably too good a word, but I feel like everyone forgets about Aquaman 64. Which was so lazy it was THE SAME GAME BUT WORSE in a only slightly different skin. Instead of flying through rings you'd swim through them...with zero visibility under the water.
I'll usually spend up to five bucks on a physical copy of a game just to give it a chance, even if I don't think it will be amazing... but from what I've heard of this game, I legitimately don't trust it near my Switch.
