It’s mad , I’ve wanted him exposed and gone for ages, but now it’s about to happen I’m going to be sad to see the actor leave, he brought so much to the show and played the part very well
Yes I agree won’t be the same when he leaves but he could get a career in films playing a villain and dramas lol as he plays it brilliantly he will be missed EastEnders won’t be the same lol
He is a brilliant villain and will be missed in EastEnders when he goes won’t be the same he could be in films playing a villain and dramas brilliant lol
I wouldn’t say he’s a good villain, or even really that good of an actor. He’s really contrived especially when he’s trying to be menacing. But I will say Eastenders has done a good job with the story although it got a bit ridiculous at Christmas with Chelsea
He’s also shown everyone just how charming a narcissist can be on the outside yet have this other side to them. They can seem like pillars,of the community and get away with so much. My mother’s partners should have been in prison long ago, believe me I know what people like Gray are like
One of the best but saddest domestic abuse storylines ever man😭👌🏼 I was heartbroken was she died; I still am. But the whole concept behind why they killed her and didn’t do the whole “i am free from the abuser” thing was what made it so iconic
Love the actor and how they’re showing what happens behind closed doors with domestic violence but I wish they didn’t make it a “serial killer” storyline too.
I disagree I think it portrays grays unravelling. Think about it over the time of the domestic abuse it gradually got worse until he ended up killing her. But he didn't mean to kill chantelle he just shoved her, the fucked up thing was leaving her to die In order to cover it up and make it look like an accident. Gray wasn't a killer before chantelle and he (in his own twisted way) loved her so I think its sade to assume that his mental health would've deteriorated. He killed Tina because she sussed him out and if he could leave his own wife to die to cover his tracks then killing tina is nothing. I stopped watching for while around the time kush died some I'm not too sure on all the details but I think it was because he was obsessed with Whitney and didn't want her to leave. I do think the story line has dragged a bit but I think it does emphasise that as good as gray was at covering his tracks then truth came out in the end, even if he did have everyone fooled for a while.
Gray’s killing spree was not because he’s a serial killer though Chantelle’s death was not planned, it was an accident that sparked into murder because he left her to die he killed Tina to protect the secret that he killed Chantelle because she found out and was going to tell everyone he killed Kush because his new focus and the thing keeping him grounded was Whitney, and he wanted Whitney for himself and then he tries to kill Chelsea and others after Chelsea tricks him into confessing about the abuse and the murder of Chantelle and Tina on phone with the police and gray stops caring and just goes suicidal/self destructive Gray wasn’t a serial killer, he was an abusive narcissist who killed to protect himself and over basic jealousy, spite and greed.
Oh my heart breaks for Chantelle even now 😭😭 one of the most heartbreaking stories. As much as I hate Gray he is an phenomenonal actor as is she!!! Such a shame they turned a domestic violence story into a serial killer story. As these things need to me highlighted that domestic violence can sometimes turn into murder. It's heartbreaking.
The most hated character - the most amazing actor! I hope “Gray” has a kind twin brother that shows up in Walford 🙏 Also, I cannot stand Jack. Why can’t he go?
Despite how hateable he is and the heinous things he has done, I like that there is a degree of nuance with the character, with him rationalizing his actions and expressions moments of remorse and regret. His ability to manipulate situations and people, using the cover of being a lawyer to portray himself as the pillar of the community is even better than when fellow serial killer Lucas did so under the facade of being a devout pastor.
Absolutely, both he and Lucas remind me of my father and stepfather to a freakish degree. I love how multi dimensional the portrayal is and they demonstrate perfectly just how a charming narcissist can flying right under so many people’s radar yet do insane shit behind closed doors with the occasional outburst that affects someone outside the unit. My dad portrayed himself as a pillar of the community devoting all his time to the church despite battering his wife and terrorising his autistic kids for over 20 years. He even did the deranged supervillain monologuing thing, rationalising his actions and lecturing you on why you deserve what is happening to you. He finally lost it outside of the home and ended up attacking a child with special needs at the school he worked at. My mother’s boyfriend acts like a model parent in front of people, overprotective to a controlling degree yet he himself has threatened to slit the child’s throat, grabbed him and tried to throw him into a concreted ditch, doused everything with petrol and tried to set the house on fire with us in it like Gray with the gas etc
@marklynn5899Ian always blames someone else for something, just like when he and Jane tried to make Max take the fall for Lucy’s death instead of Bobby
I think I'm pretty much going to stop watching EE after he leaves. It's going to be boring without him. I haven't really cared much for the other storylines.
So very true that’s the same for me when gray goes then Danny dyer that’s it lol because nobody’s gonna replace them it is going to be boring without him their will be nothing to watch and I am a massive EastEnders fan not going to be the same for me I am afraid viewers will be lost
Going to miss Gray when he leaves, he really is a fantastic villain. The show won’t be as exciting without him, glad he’s getting his comeuppance though
Nah, Gray was actually decent when he protected Whitney from Leo. Yeah, it was technically for the wrong reasons (he fancied Whitney while being with Chantelle) but at least he stuck up for her and did what he could to try and get Leo to leave her alone.
I find all the comments "I only watch for him," a little concerning. What is so fascinating about a sociopathic abuser? I feel like if Gray wasn't good looking he wouldn't be anywhere near as popular.
it’s not really concerning. that’s the point. i only watch eastenders for gray. yes he’s insane and abusive, but he’s conventionally attractive. everyone knows that’s the only reason why he’s popular
It's weird because he's a villain, he's killed Chantelle, Tina and Kush so I should be happy for his past to finally come back but I really don't want him to go. Toby Alexander-Smith has done such a good job that he's made Grey my favourite character and I kinda want him to get away with it.
He was so much of a better character when he was a realistic domestic abuser. The writers went too far with the serial killer route, it’s like they needed a villain and were like well he’s killed one already let’s just add more
What a weird selection of clips to summarise 'his worst' ? What about the bath tub or his other kills? Whoever did this compilation needs to do a better job
The house from when the Atkin’s moved in had the hardest to watch moments possibly any TV show out there. August 2019 to now it is now finally over soon.
They turned the most great storyline of domestic abuse to an annoying serial killing one. Now thanks to Eastenders writers he victims won't come forward has Gray got away with this for 3 years now.
@@outbound2672 you missing the point this storyline was supposed to be awareness of domestic abuse then turns into a killer snd gets away with it for over 2 years!!!
Is that it? He's done far worse than that! They missed out the bit when he made Chantelle hold her breath under her bath water. And when he raped her... forced her up the stairs to "make a baby" - probably several times but only 1 episode focused on this. That series of clips was a bit boring... 🥱 Misses out the really gritty stuff. And the murders!! 😂
