Video was awesome bro loved it, didn't mind the length personally, very much appreciate the steps put in to show us what a cool show that was, and Very much appreciate your eye when it comes to not just pointing out the funny stuff but also the minute intricacies many miss at the show due to over stimulation, you being a seasoned SEMA goer I think are able to provide coverage of the cool stuff not your fault there's SO MUCH, Thanks Again New Sub Here Great Coverage👏👏👏

Sema has become part of the worst things about the industry if it wasn’t for takeovers and a person getting hit by a car or guns being pulled out Sema would be at the top of the list. Literally does everything to keep out the fans and normal community of car people just to make sure RU-vidrs and celebrities can do circle jerks with the manufacturers. The best builds are still the fans who bring their own and park around the venue and town while all the crap if under one roof.

There is no prestige to Sema anymore. I remember back as a kid looking at crappy websites of photos of Sema cars on dial up and they would blow my mind. Now alot of the cars are boring or terribly built. Sema needs to impose a IQ test limit or something to weed out the truck bro's and hacks who somehow manage to get their cars in. Or make a rule that if your car isnt fully complete and you submit it, then it bars you from showing the following year. To at least give an incentive to builders to complete, or just hold back a year, and let others get a chance of showing their cars instead. The average quality of the builds would go up lol.

dude , it's not a car show . it's a product/ business/ brand showcase ... the cars AND TRUCKS bRo , are just there to get the attendees attention. sema doesn't care if the vehicle is "fInISheD" because the vendor has paid them for a booth they can put half a car in there if they want ! and as far as sema being "prestigious " 20-30 years ago... well you weren't lying when you said that you had only seen them on dialup internet

Great video, one of the best I’ve seen from SEMA this year honestly. You have a good attitude about all of it, nothing wrong with pointing out some flaws that obviously have no place at a show of that level, but you also show tons of appreciation for the massive amount of quality work that is on display too. Ever considered a little house tour video? What I’ve seen of your new place looks super cool, even your desk/office where you did the Chainsmoker story video looked like a really cool spot. I have tons of appreciation for any kind of design, and that includes architecture and interior design and it looks like you have some great taste in both of those as well 👌
@warwickandrews

Wow Dan thank you so much for the well thought out response! That is exactly what I was trying to achieve so I’m glad it shows through! I’m pumping out some videos that I’ve had on the back burner for a while now (finishing one as we speak, will be dropping tomorrow!) and when I’m caught up it will all be house stuff because I’m on 60 acres and I currently have 94 vehicles so there is going to be a lot of content coming soon and I can’t wait to make it!
@95riosnake
@95riosnake 9 месяцев назад
No problem at all, I think the amount of work that is put into these videos deserves a little bit of effort from those of us who get to just sit back and enjoy the content. 21:20- The velocity stacks are at different heights not because of fresh air requirements, but because they're specifically tuned for each cylinder. Think of it as eight individual 1-cylinder engines married to a common engine case, all making power at different RPM levels, with the general idea being that the finished product (the complete engine) has a wide torque/HP curve. Longer tubes make more power down low, shorter tubes make more power at higher RPM. Not exactly a scientific explanation, but that's the general idea. Look at Can-Am series V8 engines from the late 1960's/early 1970's for similar setups.
@davidparker9676
@davidparker9676 9 месяцев назад
It is also equal length when you factor in the length of the manifold runner and the port in the head. I would bet that they used some 5th grade math to size and orient the stacks. Having these on your engine would kill the torque and introduce a ton of dirt into the engine.
@dh66
@dh66 8 месяцев назад
@@davidparker9676yea exactly, manifold runner length doesn't include anything forward of the throttle plate. It's just for show and will kill that engine right quick. Can get away with ITB on race cars because they are rebuilding the engine after anyways or if a street car has air filters
@davidparker9676
@davidparker9676 8 месяцев назад
@@dh66 Having ITBs on that engine will lose a ton of power and torque. I understand it is for show but it is still lame from every standpoint. There are too many people at SEMA that are full of BS and counterproductive products. I always find it funny to watch the end of the show when a bunch of the show cars barely run to move under their own power. Pointless vehicles for guys participating in a pissing contest. How much perfectly good cash can they spend to make a useless vehicle?

At 9:11 coincidentally, that is the Oilstain Lab Half-11. As a build its kind of like a GT40 replica with a Porsche body and an LS, but they went way further than that. They essentially created an entire alternate history scenario where the Porsche 917 was based on a 911, complete with renders that made people think it was real, and then they went and built the thing. Super cool, a build I've followed since the beginning and awesome to see get the recognition it deserves.

Even “US in Canada” have problems in our power grid. My nephew bought an EV (Hyundai Kona) and then applied for a permit to wire his garage with 2 chargers so he could get their second vehicle as an EV (don’t worry, he has a 502 big block 72 C10 short box to stay in touch,,, 😂😂). The city came back and said the portion of the city grid servicing his neighbourhood was over subscribed and they denied him 220 in the garage at all!! He worked with the City and when he looked into having the city pay for the $ he loses on the resale of his Kona his lawyer drafted up a letter. I’m sure it was a bluff, but they conditionally approved only one plug for charging. He couldn’t get anything for his air compressor he wants in there and a welder. Alberta’s grid is old in many areas and sucks!! Older residential areas in both Calgary & Edmonton won’t handle every home having a charging station for an EV. I don’t mind EV vehicles under certain conditions, just not work pickups to tow. That’s not intended to be an anti-EV comment, just reality of the older areas of the cities and the need to upgrade the grids. Stay safe out there, Eh!

The crazy thing about all those trucks with blue-tooth driveshafts, is that most of the various suspension arms & links look to have been constructed with CNC-cut parts, meaning that there must have been a fair amount of computer-based design going on... IDK how they've still managed to mess up the angles like that. I guess the tool still needs to be used by someone who knows what they're doing & good suspension geometry is a bit of an art.

Non-repairable only means non-repairable per the state law that it was purchased in… for instance in Va it’s a dead car but the same car can get inspected and certified in AZ, mind you most insurance companies will not offer full coverage on a repaired car.
@warwickandrews
@warwickandrews 9 месяцев назад
No that is North American wide via the vin number, it can only be registered if it’s been exported elsewhere. I’ve been a salvage car dealer for 12 years and I’ve considered exporting these vehicles over the years but typically they are non repairable for a reason and not worth the rebuild in the first place

I used to think the people touching cars at Sema was bad, then I went to Tokyo auto salon. You get people trying to actually open car doors/trunnks/hoods, etc. and full on leaning on/sitting on cars. It’s wild.

Thanks for the tour. I surely want to go to SEMA someday as a spectator for the Car Audio section. ... For those sound systems look up Gately Audio and Sky High Car Audio (SHCA) ... all crazy car audio builds. #CarAudio

nice coverage... the 8 hole injector with the different stacks is to spread out power curve.. (Long stacks = more torque, Shorts are for HP) Been almost 30 years since I did SEMA... Just makes me tired thinking about it...
@somacoma2219
@somacoma2219 9 месяцев назад
Yeah you are right... sort of. Broadening the torque band is about all you needed to say. Longs are for more torque at lower revs, Shorts are for more torque at higher revs. It was an efficiency compromise in tuning the engine. Yeah I know the shop convention, "torque" is low revs, "HP" power at high revs... but it is really misleading. I've listened to gear heads who flunked math argue about this for hours. I usually don't say a word, because it's pointless. Horsepower is torque times RPM. Its proportional, like my dreamgirl's ass.
@dh66
@dh66 8 месяцев назад
It's really just a show piece. Having different cylinders create offset torque at varying RPMs adds more stress to the crankshaft and block

@@warwickandrews the car had only a few hundred miles and a few events on it since completion, and I had driven it to a car show, then back home.
