1:54:13 Something like a £20 note I would only look around to see if someone was searching around for something, since the chances anyone would go to a police station are remote. The wallet with £500 in it was taken straight to the local cop shop - luckily the wallet also contained a warrant card, so they knew exactly who had dropped it and could phone them to tell them where their holiday cash was and probably rib them mercilessly. When I was very young back in the early 1960s, I found a pound note and a ten shilling note together on the street. These days that is £1.50 and wouldn't even buy you a coffee, back then it was a goodly portion of someone's weekly wage. My dad took it to the local police station because that was the most likely place that someone would go to see if anyone had handed it in, and being poor ourselves we knew how much it mattered to get it back. For whatever reason, no-one claimed it within the time period that was deemed reasonable (maybe they won it on the horses and didn't notice they had lost it!), so I was thirty shillings better off with a clear conscience.

Only partially correct. it was only seen as the worst war crime because it happened in France and was very visible. At the time an SS soldier asked how they could kill over 200 people.He said words to effect"This is nothing.In a single day outside Leningrad we hung over ten thousand civilians"Think about it. Ten thousand people in a day.

It’s a compilation. I appreciate having them for monotonous tasks that require a bit of periodic attention, so I don't need to worry about missing something or pausing. Compilations also help feed the almighty algorithm.

While varying tone and volume can make audio more interesting, Simon has a tendency to come to a very quiet, lower register at the end of sentences. The end result is that I can't make out the last 4 or 5 words in some of the more content-heavy sentences. There's so much good information, I hate to miss any of it due to something that could (maybe?) be remedied.

actually the wehrmacht is known to have sometimes committed battlefield atrocities, not just the waffen-ss. On the other hand there are cases of ss soldiers who outright refused to take part in such war crimes and who weren't punished or reprimanded for it. As for the found money on the street if it happened to me I would NOT try to "hand it in" at a police station because there have been too many stories of valuable drugs and other contraband "disappearing" from evidence rooms in the US.⚛😀

@@unkledoda420 No it's the fact that one is mentioned over and over and over and the other is NEVER mentioned, and the one that is never mentioned was far worse. It should give a mental red flag when there are two sides to a war, one of them commits 10x as much horror as the other, yet the one that committed 1/10th of the horror gets endless videos and is taught in school how terrible they were, yet the other side who won the war and was 10x worse, is never mentioned in school or on channels like this.

As a reference to what is currently going on in ukraine, look out for red and black flags. That is the flag of the OUN, and over 5000 ukranian nationalists were in the SS and helped with the final solution, many being guards in extermination camps. And yes the nazis actually reported them as being more cruel. Watch a film called Volhynia or Hatred, a polish film about these ww2 atrocities. Then watch Burnt alive in Odessa for more context in ukraine. And here is a quote from the final report of the maidan coup in ukraine in 2014: "A nearly one-million-word verdict from Ukraine’s Maidan massacre trial has recently confirmed that many Maidan activists were shot not by members of Ukraine’s Berkut special police force or other law enforcement personnel but by snipers in the far-right-controlled Hotel Ukraina and other Maidan-controlled locations a decade ago today." History should not repeat itself.
