I completely agree with this. I'm not the greatest player but I could deal with most strong characters with a solid mental and gameplan. Stripe is very much a knowledge check character and can be beaten by having a bit of composure and strategy. He really didn't need to be super nerfed. (This is coming from someone with like 2 stripe matches under his belt.)
I'm very conflicted as I definitely agree that there are nerfs/buffs that are pushed without nearly enough proofing or evidence to back them, but also do enjoy a game that adjust itself frequently. Idk, the game getting updates regularly is a good thing and I hope they continue it, but they need to be careful when nerfing/buffing the NEWEST toys before people have unwrapped it's packaging y'know?
Kill nerf culture, it is in every game now and all it does is kill any motivation to get any better. Characters should always have AT LEAST 3 months before each change unless something is completely wrong (No, not like Bugs or Velma or Iron Giant, REAL game breaking stuff). A character should not be changed unless they are demonstrably strong or weak (many tourney results, clear and proven weaknesses, matchup spreads)
I don't mind more frequent patches, cause it adds constant flavor and yea sometimes if something is broke or bugged, changes need to happen immediately. I guess maybe one thing from a Dev's perspective, this is a free to play game so they gotta find ways to keep attracting as many people as possible and keep their product going. That may be a reason why they listen to everyone and try to make as many happy.
I hate how characters like Taz, Iron Giant, Tom and Jerry have gotten screwed over because people don’t want to adapt especially the fact that Tom and Jerry was the one character keeping Bugs and Velma in check and they do this like every week. Killer Instinct 2013 was well received?

I think this is crazy to complain about. This is a team of only 11 and patches have to be locked in way before the launch of the actual patch so that is why nerfs/buffs always seem too early or late. Say what you want but competitively a lot of the characters are viable in at least 1s or 2s. As of stripe the gun was INSANE in 1s and could be shot between combos and at the end of the blast zone to lock you out of doing anything. The gun is extremely powerful but now you have to either use the spaced out bullets to extend combos, or late game when damage is high save the shots for when you get a big knock back to shoot them into the blast zone. I think it’s okay for these fast patches now while it’s in beta.
Killer Instinct had just as small of a team, and it had a much MUCH smaller budget. The point also isn't just about Stripe, it's that they already have a history of unneeded buffs and nerfs even though the game is so young.
His gun was not at all powerful, and Stripe is very easy to KO because of his weight. The only problem Stripe had was his forward air being too safe to use, it was especially a headache to deal with because the servers are in a bad state causing hitboxes to be very questionable.
This is definitely correct. They know if they keep complaining and defend certain people, that’s what the devs do. Now, the games just becoming an unplayable mess with a handful of characters being picked all cheesing easy mechanics. Same thing happened with the game For Honor to a tea. How Harley hasn’t been directly nerfed while there seems to be a blanket of nerfs to try and limit her is ridiculous. Just nerf her directly! This is definitely that type of game just babies the people that take the time to tweet the devs.
I mostly agree and I don't think there's more apt of a character for what you're talking about as Tom and Jerry. When the game first came out, people were shitting on T&J, weeks later people realise T&J has some great combo potential and is a really strong character. They realise T&J is strong then they ask for nerfs, they get nerfs and that made them almost unplayable, now they're back to being strong. I also think black adam might be heading the T&J way, hasn't even been a full day and already people are saying he's weak which I personally don't see, he's a strong character, just doesn't dominate like stripe did. Soon people will see the potential of black adam as a strong character and then ask for nerfs then buffs, then nerfs then buffs, and so on and so on.
This kind of balance changing is pretty common in actual MOBAs like Smite. They release a character, they may be overpowered or strong for a bit, then after a month they get patched and nerfed down when the next character comes in. Id say its best to get used to it.
