Each of these students have something they dislike about their school. LTU got sample of their thoughts for you.

I'm a commuting senior here, the worst part is the expensive tuition. I'm in a low income family and even after all the aid and scholarship, I still have to pay around 12k with single parent. The location not great either. Commuting through Jamaica, you sometimes gets harassed and met by rude and violent people

It’s on Union turnpike though it’s just Jamaica is a couple blocks down unless you go from the Jamaica way then yeah I know what you mean

True the people in Jamaica Ave can be weird. But I take q30 or q31 bus so I avoid them most of the time. Also yeah this college is expensive. After aid, I still had to pay 14k. My parents almost freaked out. But the campus is pretty good and the teachers are overall very exceptional imo

@@tthomas4130 For one, I love the campus. And two, they offered majors that didnt offered in other uni, and three, not that far from where I resides.

Suny Oswego graduate here. St. John’s University was one of my colleges I picked to attend when I graduated from high school.

I went to si campus late 80s. It was a very small campus. We had the newspaper, campus announcements, and more.

They’re still young. 😂 I’m 30 years old and I remember hen I was 18, guidance at that age is still needed. Just because by 18, the law views one as an adult doesn’t mean they can think like an adult. Their brain is still developing.

Thank you that's my point exactly, I'm 18 this year and independence is still a brand new concept laying idly still in the back of my mind, still as fresh as ever. Adults make maturity seem like a realistic downside that is as common as cognitive sense that must be realized instead of aiding legal adults like myself to embrace the concept in a chronological manner 🤦🏽‍♂️

Not great. St.Johns is very diverse, students and professors. Depends on your major as well. School President is Filipino. The dorms are only 20 yrs old. That’s fairy new compared to other schools. St. John’s gives a ton of AID. The problem is St. John’s allows too many folks in that have no business in school along with putting them into debt. I would say majority of ppl you interviewed would be better off at CUNY school. Also the complaint you have to take Theology, it’s fucking a Catholic school! They offer other religions, the school goes out of its way. If the school took academics much more serious kicked out riff raff, St.John’s could be Fordham.

I agree . I felt like most of my classes were dumbed down to accommodate people who otherwise shouldn’t have made it into college. While I had perfect grades, I had to do literally 90% of learning by myself to prepare myself for the real world

Stop invalidating other people’s feelings. If they don’t feel,that it’s diverse enough then that’s cool. It probably isn’t compared to the diversity they’re used to seeing.

...I commuted there from Williamsburg Brooklyn for 5 years...2 subways (GG & E or F train) and a bus to Union Turnpike & Utopia...pharmacy major 78'...don't know how I did it...

Shallow students...they are suppose to draw on the wisdom of their elders and apply the knowledge using their way of thinking instead of complaining "lack of diversity" woah woah woah. To that young lady in white jacket @ 2:58, as a graduate of this school as a Redman, philosophy will serve her well. It did for me even now. I graduated from this school some time ago and diversity is NOT what's lacking.

That’s her experience. You can disagree without invalidating her experience. And lack of diversity is an experience and can make that experience different. Stop being so judgmental. Not at age 18. College age should be around 21-22.
