The WORST Polish Train Food!? First Class Train, POZNAŃ To GDAŃSK

Hi guys. In the first class you get slightly wider seats. There's 6 of them instead of 8 in each cabin. If you want to get the highest standard premium train in Poland ask for "Pendolino" train. Enjoy Gdańsk and go to Olivia Star Viewingfloor if you get a chance.

Guys, a 1st class car doesn't offer golden beds and won't take you to your destination at warp speed. The main difference is the number of seats, 6 in the 1st class and 8 in the second class, which means the 1st class gives you more space, more comfort. The fact that you didn't notice any difference compared to class 2 ("normal") may be due to the fact that the railways often degrades the old type of class 1 cars to class 2. This is an opportunity, because you pay less money and you have a more comfortable journey for the price, say, not so modern decor or not so computerized toilet. These declassified cars are marked with a white board with the number "1" crossed out and the number "2" printed next to it.

1st class: 6 seats 2nd class 8 seats. That's how Polish Intercity grade their cabins. Are u sure you were in the correct cabin going from Katowice to Wrocław?

You went by a "normal" and not a premium train. The difference between 1st and 2nd class is the number of seats. One doesn't get food in a board bistro in the ticket price. Even in a german ICE one need to pay for everything.

Yes, first class Pendolino train is great. You should try it. We recently take it from Katowice to Gdańsk and the 6-hour journey passed in a flash. For how long you will be in Poland?

So basically from what I know about Polish railway, You need to seat in your seats to get the drink and a meal, because there is a cart that is going through every wagon and if you're not there when the lady comes, basically you don't get your stuff. I think you went to the restaurant wagon too quickly.

It doesn't look like trains in Poland are managed very well when it comes to comfort, albeit First Class. Harriet and I agree, why bother paying for first class if your going to be treated all the same . It's a nice tip to know when we get back to Poland traveling by train. Welcome to Gdansk . You should definitely also go to Kolobrzeg when it´s warmer and to Kaszuby region next to Gdansk where the Kaszuby people live. I highly recommend it;)

This is a PKP IntreCity train, so the compartments are practically the same, except that in the 2nd class there are 8 seats and it is tight, which doesn't bother me for short distances, but for longer routes I choose 1st class because it is more spacious, there are 6 seats and air conditioning, which makes a big difference difference in summer. However, 1st class looks completely different when using the Pendolino train, it is even more expensive.

Our first class train tickets from Krakow to Wroclaw looked like that, 6 seats. There were just 3 of us in there though:)

About the stairs in the Wrocław station. She had to climb up the stairs to be there in the first place. The only stairs you "need" to take are up to the platform where she had her suitcase riding along on a conveyor belt. You don't really need to walk those stairs because there is a lift nearby. About the first class. You really pay for the type of people you are traveling with. I usually pay for a 2nd class tickets but from time to time, especially when the trip is a bit longer, I like to pay a little bit extra for those small things. About the food. There are many meals to choose from. They are prepared on board so it may take up to 30 min to get it. Dumpling are just boiled on the train but breaded pork chops are literally cooked there. The only thing done outside of the train is cutting the meat. In higher categories of trains you'll get a real plate and real cutleries and a slightly bigger menu (more options). Polish restaurant cars are considered to be one of the best in the world.

I think it depends on the carrier. First class from one company might be like the second class from the other. Pendolino trains are nice for a contrast.

Many second-class cars are out-of-class first class cars. It's just that the second-class cars were worn out, so the first-class cars were converted into them. This is especially true for "regular" (non-premium) express trains.

Try Vande Bharat Train in India Rajdhani expresses Gatimaan expresses etc 1st class coaches bed, chair s ,foods, drink , pillows,towel, blanket....etc services Or Luxurious trains (5star hotels,Royal/King services) also available but expensive

Just Pendolino 1class train have food included and is much more diffiret then IC .Next Time look for the express intercity premium :) but is bit expensive if You buy tickets same day ,is cheaper when is book it advance ( same Like UK trains ) .All the best

The previous time when you were travelling with the 2nd class train tickets, the places you got were not 2nd class. 2nd class is different, it has 8 seats in the box instead of 6, it does not have separate seats for every passenger. I was surprised seeing your 2nd class places then, but it must have been some kind of mistake. Either you mismatched your places or maybe they did not have a suitable 2nd class car at hand so they put 1st class instead. Or it was a generally higher quality train, more expensive, maybe international or something like that.

1st class has only 6 seats inside the cabin bit 2nd class has 8 seats so you have got bigger seats so it is definitely worth it as I remeber to seat with other 7 people and it wasn't comfortable. You probably missed your free snacks while being in the Wars restaurant so why this drama about?

BTW beer sold in restaurant cars comes from small, local breweries using traditional methods and it happens that when you go, for example, by train from the Silesia region, silesian beers are on offer. This way you can drink truly masterful beers! Yours @4:06 was the "Korona Olbrachta" / Crown of Olbracht (Jan I Olbracht - the Polish king from the end of the 15th century, a famous womanizer!) from the small craft brewery in the city of Piotrków Trybunalski. Great beer! Just to appreciate its flavour, you need to detox your bodies after hectoliters of unnecessarily drunk supermarket "Harnaś"! :P

You're in a bar, where even 2nd class can come in. But I must say, the 'wars' (name of the restaurant in train I suppose) it's not bad. Travelled a lot, and used the bar. As a rather 'fast food' restaurant is good quality with rather reasonable prices.

How far was it ? Poznan to gdansk ? How many hours

I am sorry for Poznań. but the station is a bit difficult with the platforms. may overhaul. I invite you to Poznań in a year when the renovations are over. nice in Gdansk. I have a problem with Polish communication and it is more normal

Hi Guys, enjoy GDAŃSK!!! Last summer when we travelled from POZNAŃ To GDAŃSK in First Class the Air Con was broken so the guard moved us to 2nd Class LOL.

It's nosense to choose 1st class in polish train while it's so empty. It's better to ask for żurek and schabowy (fresh made) in Wars car bar and of course 2nd beer!

You get what you pay for and train food is usually nowhere any good to be fair 🙈😆. Stay safe, stay healthy please
