I was actually in the crowd for this show. When Abyss whipped Stevie Richards into the wall, one of the impacts was heavy and broke my dad's toe because he had his foot leaning up against it.
3:13 Matt Morgan's cocky ass sidewalk slam where he just straight up tosses Daniels to the side is absolute gold! I'm not sure why I enjoy that spot as much as I do, but I just do haha.
“There’s a strange, fat, ginger, balding referee doing this match. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him before, but I HATE HIM.” See, THAT RIGHT THERE is the observation/commentary that makes me love this channel. Keep it up, Hawk!
Lord Eddard Stark oh, i know Nick Patrick was the original one at Souled Out (i believe 97 was the first Souled Out and since Nick was the only referee nWo had he worked all the matches that night) and he was supposed to do a fast count at Starrcade 97 (the great Hogan refusing to do the job clean even though he had agreed to do so over a year in advance when the Crow Sting was first showing up) debacle. He even had a whole story arc of eventually getting fired and then reinstated. I meant Scott Steiner’s personal ref when he was in nWo Hollywood (both before Hogan’s injury and while he was out and Scott became the nWo Hollywood’s leader) because every wcw referee refused to officiate his matches because he kept beating them up. So he got his own ref and i believe it was Slick. Look up Scott Steiner’s personal referee.
I've been watching TNA from 2004 and 2005, and holy shit how TNA has fallen. Judging from what I've seen, TNA sold its soul for mainstream attention in 2010. Just watch a 2005 TNA event and I got ECW feels. The fans were so passionate about TNA. Then in 2010 the crowds starting becoming silent and in 2020 the crowd is dead.
Tbh even I missed the best years as I accidentally tuned in back in 2007. By which time there was a lot of hokey S**t going on but I could look past that when I was treated to some good wrestling pretty frequently. X Division was still untarnished, AJ, Joe and all the big TNA names were still around, the Knockouts (those poor, poor women...) division got kickstarted and was mostly killing it... And then 04/01/2010 happened. And even my teenaged self knew it was all over. I didn't pop for a single one of those has-beens and their pointless debuts. I have PTSD over it. I think it started after the dome match and these constant arrivals of old timers looking for a payday kept getting TV time. F*ck Hulk Hogan and f*ck Dixie Carter, pair of wrestling philistines afaic lmao.
REASONS WHY THIS IS THE WORST TNA SHOW: - (Jenna Morasca) - The burial of the legends title (from Aj Grand Slam champion to Nash that never defended it or cared about it). - Slick pretending to be pinned by a spider (if you're afraid of spiders, letting them walk on your body is something you don't do). - Morgan and Daniles' stupid match (the giant has already an advantage over the small guy an injury angle on top of that only makes him appear weaker, especially if he's the face). - Stevie Vs Abyss is the usual trash match (once again the face is a stupid giant where the heel is fighting for his life against all odds). BUT I have to commend the good job in booking the Impacts before this match (Abyss' own work) where Stevie was Abyss' shrink and used that as an excuse to torture him and Abyss had never laid his hands on him, so you actually wanted to see Mr.Park wail on his ass. - 3D vs British Invasion, pointless ("IF THEY LOSE THEIR TITLES THEY'LL LOSE THEIR JAPAN BOOKING!!!", no they won't. NJPW doesn't squander their booking to swerve the fans. "But the Invasion won the title on Impact!!!"... and the match was not sanctioned by NJPW and they don't recognize the title change and Team 3D won the belts back and went to drop them in Japan). - (Jenna Morasca) - The incredibly stupid finish of the tag title. - The match between Joe and Sting, shadows of their former selves. Taz debut was as useless as the Nation of Violence storyline. - The main event was bad (for Kurt Angle's standards) and clearly foreshadowed (so, no surprises). - Every match has either bad wrestling, stupid booking, screwy finishes or a combination of them. (Adding the fact the you know that Angle's not going anywhere, Booker's not going anywhere, Nash incredibly isn't going anywhere and the M.E.M is the solid main even storyline so they're not going anywhere so THEY'RE WINNING EVERY MATCH).
Sometimes I really feel that wrestling promotions have the motto "bigger is better". When TNA was a bit smaller it really managed to get the wrestling fan into a loyal fan. But then old WWE stars had to come across, the storylines had to be more extreme and bigger and every match had to contain something 'extreme' or 'idiot'. AEW is now also falling for this nonsense. They score the same ratings as WWE's C show, and seem satisfied too. I think I am one of the few fans who is easily satisfied with simple storylines and normal wrestling.
@@facesoffearbrewing1229 I love attitude era soap opera nonsense. But whan thats the whole card every week and on every paperview it gets real old real fast. Watching 2000-01 episodes of raw I feel like the right to censor story line is just the right amount of zany but in addition to good wrastlin?
Lol, yes, this ppv was bad, & this period of TNA wasn't the best. Still, this was a nice trip down memory lane. Yo, MarkyD, I gotta say that your videos got me watching TNA\IMPACT again, now in 2020, & i been loving what I've been seeing so far. They just need some work, with their current main even scene, but the recent shows have been pretty entertaining for me. Here's hoping that you review Victory Road 2020, & Bound For Glory 2020.
Tna ppv review video ideas: bound for glory 2009 Bound for glory 2006 Bound for glory 2007 Bound for glory 2012 Slamiversary 2013 Destination x 2012 Genesis 2010
Matt Morgan is the 7-Eleven version of Starbucks coffee. The coffee looks like the big league versions but you can tell the difference in quality immediately. He had an amazing body but he was too vanilla.
Holy shit she’s back in the mainstream news this month. Seems like she cleaned her life up and she’s trying to get on the 40th season of Survivor. Hopefully she can keep her sobriety.
Say what you want about the old guard but every younger talent botched against them. If not a botch there were atleast awkward moments. TNA pushing the old guard (atleast at this time) was not the issue of TNA and I definitely tuned in from time to time to see those stars while being introduced to Joe, Styles, Beer Money, Daniels, Abyss, etc...
@@yellowbonewrestling6479 that’s sad how you know that but probably because impacts been boring since slammiversary maybe he’s only doing paperviews and events now
Survivor is pretty damn popular show in the states and it was insanity popular when Jenna was on it but that was like 8 years ago at the time of the ppv
Do your grades translate to the same percentage level as their academic equivalents? A being 93-100% B: 85-92% C: 78-84% and D: 70-77% with 69% and lower being an F grade? Or is it more a 20-20-20-20-20 evenly split?
First review of this PPV I ever heard was binge listening Brian and Vinny's TNA reviews lol. ALWAYS wondered where the "MINUS 5 STARS" soundbite in the Botchamania intro until I came across the episode and saw that match lol. Nah, Jenna vs. Sharmell is horrible lol.
Victory Road 2011 at least had 3 good matches - the Ultimate X match, the Tag match and AJ vs Matt. This PPV was nothing but bullshit and it was topped off by that MINUS FIVE STAR match between Jenna and Sharmell.
Yeah, it was definitely a bad ppv, but kudos to MarkyD for pointing out that it wasn't truly as terrible, as its reputation says. I remember though, back then, it was common for TNA to receive WAY more criticism than they deserved. Even when they put on decent or good shows. Glad to say that I never participated in that trend.
@Jay Harv28 so have someone talk for him like we used to before the business went to hell. Also, decent for a giant is good. This company just flat out failed on every level. Even ones we never see.
In the Matt Morgan Daniels match when Daniels hurts his leg, why is Matt Morgan targeting the smaller guys leg???? Isn’t it usually the other way around???? That doesn’t make sense!! Also abyss is dressed like Michael Myers in rob zombies Halloween 2
I was listening to stevie richards show and he said the fake tazer was more painful than a real tazer 😂. I think he might be exaggerating a bit but it's still funny.
Don't worry. I didn't close the video when you said the main event would suck. Reviews of bad wrestling are more entertaining than reviews of good wrestling.
Mick Foley was one of my favorite wrestlers in the 90's thru to the very early 00's. His TNA run makes no sense and pisses me off slightly to watch it. Hopefully Mick at least got paid well.
Did this guy really say that im sure if the Jenna Morasca vs Sharmell match was the worst match in TNA history?😂😂😂😂dude just stop it its the worst by far.
*I don't agree. The Legends title was worthwhile with the original Main Event Mafia. That was sort of the point. It was the MEM's title. It was when they lost it, that it became worthless.*
