Charlie wasn't always a villian he used to be an upstanding guy who loved everyone until they took away what he loved most on that server his garbage truck. Now fueled for his lust for vengeance and suffering he drags people into his labyrinth of death and dances to the sounds of their screams and his dancing partners are the many skulls that he takes from his victims.

I feel like this is the beginning arc of the horror story where the kind garbage trucker goes insane after parting with his beloved vehicle and builds a maze and after the bloodshed that follows he is revealed to be the monster of the movie. And everything we saw before was just flashbacks of his background story prior to him being like the saw dude. Perhaps the villain of the saw movies also had his garbage truck blown up by a police officer.

I felt bad watching esfand try to make the first jump cause he took off his sunglasses and said he couldn't see it, then said he had vision issues and had trouble noticing it, but then went on to make the wrong decision every single time
