the budokia games were 2.5 D because there were basic left & right steps that’d allow you and your opponents to circle the stage fighterZ is only 2D moving on the same 2d plane no matter what
Yeah this video just keeps getting roasted The video has over 500And 27 comments And they all say what you're saying And I've been saying I was just wondering Do you think that that video Did that guy made About sparking 0 Is just trolling
Listen, sparking zero just like any game has its pros and cons. This game isn’t immune to criticism. HOWEVER every negative sparking zero video/comment fails to understand what sparking zero is supposed to be. We don’t want it to reinvent the wheel. We don’t want it to change the formula. What we want is for it to be a true sequal to BT3, with super characters added, modern graphics, and a refreshing update to the series overall. The creators know this. They are giving people EXACTLY what they want and more.
Yes! Thank you! It shouldn't be so hard to understand. These people come in and make criticisms that are based in delusion. How can you confidently make criticisms for a series you have never played? It's absurd.
"Ppl been happy playing fighter z for 6 yrs" wait till bro finds out how long ppl been playing the og sparking series and been asking SPECIFICALLY for this exact game they ab to drop
I actually agree with this so much not every game needs a skill ceiling where it takes 1000s of hours to master with a competitive bracket and an esports scene.sometimes a fighting game just needs a fun roster and decent single player content to be fun for 30to60 hours then that be that. Not every game needs to be a huge time commitment where we “main” a game like a second job
@erickmejia1643 It's not even so much the skill ceiling or the actual competition. The competitive community and the way devs build around them gets so ass. Sparking Zero, especially with this what-if creator, could be a huge community game.
I was about to pre-order Sparking! Zero, but then I realized that the game hasn't changed that much. I was expecting something radical that would change the whole arena fighter genre! I wanted it to be a slice-of-life MMORPG farm simulator with social links and turn-based RPG elements, where you can marry and have kids with every single character of the franchise. Aside from these extremely minor changes that would make this arena fighter a better successor to the Budokai Tenkaichi series, I would also love to see a 1:1 reenactment of the story - but they shouldn't tell us anything we already know. If we wanted to relive the story, there are like 100 other games... Jokes aside, I think that this game, even though it could have some issues, is going to be what most fans have been waiting for almost two decades. I love Xenoverse 2; I've spent countless hours on it. For me, it was the closest to a modern Budokai Tenkaichi (and that's a stretch), so having a true successor is truly exciting. (5 more days to enjoy this game 🎉🎉)
@@bander-Coolb because he is a noob that doesnt know what he is talking about.... Its like me saying FighterZ suck because it doesnt have JRPG elements.... like... dafuq
"Sparking Zero strips all context for these friendships" "but it has a story mode that goes over important character arcs" "Yeah, but we've seen that already"
They literally have every character besides android 17 but I think they’re going to do something special with him and they might even add more diamond characters to as well because the special character was Goku diamond
This guy wants a sequel to FighterZ, but what the heck would Dragon Ball FighterZ 2 even do differently? It would just remove half the roster and sell it back to you as DLC with maybe a new mechanic or two added.
If you look at Arc System's record with sequels. We have two options. Literally all the content of the first game. But with some new characters thrown in and a new story mode. OR Overhaul of the game mechanics and character moveset with a smaller roster. But this is assuming Bandai Namco even lets them handle it the usual way. With them in charge I can see what you described.
Add a new mechanic or two. Be more like the latest patch. Fix moves. Etc. Add a few characters we asked for like Raditz. Doesn't need to overhaul the game.
Bruh I love 2d fighting games. But I'm not hoping on Sparking Zero thinking it's gonna play like Blazblue or Guilty Gear. No, it's the sequel to Tenkaichi, I want and expect Tenkaichi gameplay.
@milhousmanastorm7591 I'm still lost on how he's talking about the great dragonball moments. Then he brings up how story mode is repetitive. Like bro you just asked for that 😒 If he wants OG Dragonball lore. I get it, but Z is more popular and has been that way since the 90s with the Nes-Playstaion games. If he's wants OG dragonball just play Dragonball Origins via a DS emulator. Or Revenge of King Piccolo on the Wii.
I made a LOOOONG comment on that video the other day that makes essentially all of these points, glad someone else sees the sheer stupidity that is this review
@@FennKitFox yeah, it got almost 200 likes if I remember correctly. So many people read, at least, most of it. And your comment was one of many to give the reviewer a well deserved backlash. I hope they learned their lesson to be more professional when doing reviews.
"this game strips out all the meaningful context"... " but then proceeds to say that it has a story mode with the context is a bad thing as its been done before. So how does it want to show the meaningful context?
Also the fact that he preaches "meaningful context" when he leaves out the most meaningful context of all: THIS IS NOT A E-SPORTS COMPETITIVE FIGHTING GAME! Yet here he is, comparing it to Street Fighter and Tekken...
I kinda understand that point they removed arenas where memorable fights took place, and instead of cutscenes we got the power point slides, like my little sis whos never actually watched the show but has seen all these characters and such due to mainstream media she probably won't be as hooked for any of the story aspects like I was playing Budokai Tenkaichi 1 i think, cant remember.
13:02 lol this is how you know this sucker is a casual fighterZ player. Your characters stand still to charge in that game too, but because of the 2D space people don’t usually charged their ki because 97% of the time their opponents will not let them
It's disappointing that anytime a highly anticipated popular game is coming out there's always certain people that always wanna trash on it and slander it to cause controversy for no reason, that's not to say you can't criticize something but it's like these guys just can't stand the idea of people being excited for a highly anticipated popular game so they always gotta tear it down, say delusional things about the game because they're jealous and want the game to fail, some people can't ever just be happy so they always gotta ruin it for everybody else because they're miserable, they always gotta try and ruin the excitement for everybody, pathetic, perfection didn't stop me and this guy won't stop me either, I'm playing sparking zero in the next few days, end of story
Well hopefully when the game comes out it's not trash. I I'm a big BT2 fan . Unfortunately I dislike BT3 an raging blast an saga . I hope this isn't another cash grab
Lets not forget that Raging Blast was a litteral successor to DBZ: BT, the gameplay and mechanics were practically identical, although it failed it was still one of my favorite DBZ game franchise
I don’t think this guy wanted to do a review of sparking zero but his job was like “suck it up and do it anyway.” He is definitely a side scroll fighter lover.
I don't agree with the guy but: 1. He didn't do a review, he doesn't have the game. 2. "Side scroller fighter lover"? That's the original form of fighting game, why are you saying it like it's a bad thing?
That guy is clearly misinformed. Seriously, how can someone hate on a game that’s set to be one of the best Dragon Ball games of all time? It’s best to avoid him at all costs; he only spreads negativity and clearly lacks understanding.
Why would water make them slower though? He claims to be a dbz fan, but these characters can fly THROUGH BUILDINGS without scratching themselves, yet he expects water to slow their movement at all???
Fighting in water is basically like higher gravity in a sense but like 1.1x gravity and your expecting people who can blow up universes to be slowed by water wtf
12:58 he also seemed to ignore the fact that Dr. Gero and Android 19 can't charge Ki like all the other characters, and instead has to absorb it from their enemies, which from what I've seen, is an interesting way to turn a weakness into a strength. They don't have to worry about being vulnerable during Ki charging, as they can't do it, but can instead, gain Ki by absorbing it mid-fight. A very interesting trade-off and attention to detail.
@@strippymcroe6534 Well he's been sent off to jail, because he tried assaulting his girlfriend, or some shit, not too sure it's been a long time He was an actual psychopath
@@crysosisback7115oh he's not off the platform. He's still making TV reviews. Like every couple weeks..he's deleted any videos with game reviews though
The most common critique I hear for sparking zero is "the game is gonna be so unbalanced".... duh that's kinda the point Yamcha shouldn't be able to smack around Beerus when he could barely hold his own against a Saibaman
That ain’t gonna stop me from slapping my dads ass into the ground with Yamcha also they are doing character points so let’s say if you were to pick someone like goku mui you would have less character to choose from to stop people from picking mui and beerus and broly vs Yamcha hope this made sense 😉
I love fighting games and I follow many FGC content creators who, just like me, are exited for Sparking Zero. It is because we know what this game is, different than this clueless reviewer.
He said “water doesn’t slow you down,” most of the characters can destroy a galaxy easily and the weakest ones can destroy a big city AT LEAST, you think they can’t ignore water resistance? Wouldn’t that just make gameology yap more? If it was added they would say it makes the game “more sluggish.” Like TF?
oh man the whole video was just "man i hate that this arena fighter takes place in arenas" " why 3d i like 2d fighters" , it looks perfect , its what we have been hoping to even get a peice of for years. its not currently out selling cod on PlayStation due to it not being what dragon ball fans want. we wanted an updated bt3 and we are getting it , we wanted it to play the exact same, we wanted it to feel the same and after years we are getting it. dlc characters, online play , new story arcs, built in what if segments, possible support for years to come , 12 year old me had dreams of a game like this as each new peice of media came out and the modders added the new characters to the older games i knew one day we would be able to see it for real . took way to long but i cant wait to play a game that looks like what it really felt like when i was young
Bro I swear to god if Sparking Zero changed up the gameplay people would complain how it’s “not close to the source material” people can’t be happy with what they get nowadays
I didn't preorder until the GT trailer. Im honestly concerned because the main way I enjoy gaming is qith local multi-player with my kids. This game is lacking in that category. We are huge db fans.
I think we just found the SuperItachi/Paragon of FighterZ. Imagine thinking that if you take the most successful and beloved game in the DB franchise, DONT change the entire formula when making a sequel and instead build on the existing concepts, and then claiming the game is a stale, non competitive, out of date game. Bro isnt just spewing hot takes, he is vomiting up straight molten trash.
The dude claims the story isn't moving forward. YET, the game is literally advertised to have the story go to the TOP. They also forget that 3/8 story characters are primarily SUPER characters. How is that not moving the story forward when they have you playing as Jiren of all people.
Charging is always a risk/reward - I don't see how this is clunky. We get it, dude rly hates Arena Fighters, but what he pulls out of his a** in this review is absolute insane. Hell calling sparking zero a cash grab is so insulting. Can't be serious. He didn't even mention custom battles ! He could make his own story. Anyway this game will not quickly fade, it will be an all time classic.
First and most important, I pre-ordered the game and will be playing as soon as I can. But im not gonna lie, I would go crazy if Farmer with a Shotgun was a choice!
@@ismaelbouissef4436 Eh, more like Guilty Gear with DB Characters. I like the game, but I was never good at it lmao. It's definitely a game for fans of Street Fighter/Guilty Gear/Tekken, etc.
@@toomberrebmoot9244 yeaah i loved mortal kombat 11 and tekken 8 ( still enjoying tekken8) but dbz is dbz man no 2d stuck left to right shi*t....thank god we got sparking
Becareful not to be like this reviewer. Judge FighterZ by what it is, and its been really sucessful as a fighting game. Corners are part of 2D fighters.
Honestly this is kinda par for course for critics. They often have no idea what they're talking about and are people that hate what they don't understand.
It just seems to be a taste thing. I have not seen anyone who is deep in the Dragonball community not feel super excited the the Sparking series coming back specifically.
@SHENGEKKA u just repeatedly fought clones with no personality and he has the audacity to criticize a story mode of a game that's not even out yet only because he would prefer a 2d db game
@@Masterroshiproblem1 yes exactly could have been way better that was the only low point for me with that game.. well I also wasn't a fan of the assist combo mechanic too but it grew on me over the years. But yes the story mode was just awful. I hope fighterz 2 fixes that if they make one.
Just because all these games have flying and air combat, DOESN'T mean they are arena fighters. Xenoverse is an RPG, Kakarot is focused on story with very unchallenging combat, BUDOKAI ISN'T EVEN 3D! Not to mention all the other random games, which don't even look *at all* like an arena fighter. The Tenkaichi games are arena fighters with complicated mechanics. Criticism is always a good thing for a game, as long as it's constructive. But this is just wrong.
The fact that those 3 games play completely differently from each other makes it an even worse comparison than I could ever imagine. Where does a 2D fighter even fit in this list???
His biggest problem was not understanding the games and comparing them to fighterz. Arena fighters are not competitive by design. They can make them in ways that make them "fairer" or more competitive, but it will do very little. I mean, bt3 has super armor, which certain characters can break faster than others. How can you see that and say that it was made with competitive scene in mind? For another example look at mha ones justice 2(which does have a rather competitive scene from what i recall): it has a character that can punish you for having your character have ANY voice lines...
When he mentioned about the ki charging I went "hang on you can do the same in fighterZ and still be vulnerable".. He says he is a dB fan but is obviously a side to side fighterZ style gamer. Sparking ZERO is the ultimate realism DB experience you can get with environmental damage, more better than anything we have ever got.
Its weird bc he mentioned wanting something accurate to the source material yet preferes a fighting game which is knowhere near accurate in terms of pacing to the show. Also complains about a charge button which exists in fighterz
Honestly, after a while, i stop watching that guys video . I even commented at his video telling him that he never played a db game. The guy has a problem with ki charging, a mechanic that even fighterz haves
My cousin who isn’t even a fan of the show, he just kind of finds it a little out of his taste, but he enjoys bits and pieces of it and after I showed him the gameplay of sparking zero he told me “I’ve never been excited for a Dragon Ball game but I am now” so usually I just sum up the people who give it bad reviews as people on the spectrum Or people who just cope really hard over their favorite games dying because the better ones coming out
Tell me you don’t understand what an arena fighter is without telling me you don’t understand what an arena fighter is. FighterZ definitely spoiled this guys perception of what a dragon ball fighting game can be. “balance” isn’t the focus this time around and that should’ve been obvious
8:05 he was a fan I couldn't tell by his lack of knowledge on the series of games calling gachas arena fighters and failed attempts to act as if Tenkaichi 3 to this is not a big jump graphically
Budokai was very comparable to MK Deadly Alliance if you ask me. Budokai was my favorite due to it actually having combos and moves that couldn't be done simply by pressing a trigger and another button. It feels like they had to dumb it down to reach a bigger audience.
Its because Budokai catters more to a fighting games although having its unique mechanics and flavor. Budokai Tenkaichi is an arena fighter which is very different. They are different games doing different things. We like one type more than other, but we gotta judge games for what they are.
Imagine being angry that GTA5 plays pretty similar to GTA4. In my case, the only criticism I have on Sparking Zero is the lack of interest of the developers for Split Screen in a FIGHTING game that has had split screen since the 1rst Budokai Tenkaichi.
Was looking for reviews, seen this, watched the video your reacting to, came back here because you earned a sub my dude. Couldn't agree more on every take, appreciate the realness, had me laughing a few times. Keep it up! Maybe we will get to throw down against one another when the game launches!
I went to go look for the video before I commented on this and couldn’t find it. Glad he realized how retarded he looks and they made him delete the video. My comment still stands that someone who cannot differentiate between other genres from games doesn’t belong on a channel called Gameology(Gamology?).
His latest videos are getting... a bit ridiculous now. Like him claiming SZ too cinematic to do complex combos but acting like BT3 wasn't as cinematic. Or how we know now its not just Square, Square Square. Is it as complex as BT3, probably not in every retained area, but he acts like XV2 is way more complex, when the game only exist because of BT.
The only disappointment i get from sparking zero is the story ,for example like frieza vs goku namek, the ending should be ki clash just like bodukai Tenkaichi 3 but in this it doesn't,n i rather have person press r3 to progress story then watching slide show
This guy probably is one of those guys who say Smash Bros is one of the worst games ever made by humankind because it has random things. He can't see games are not made for everyone, if he loves Fighters, he should play fighters.
I'm all for constructive criticism but i watched this guy's video yesterday and he's just hating and yapping. The game looks amazing I'm happy with everything they've done It looks like the developers put their heart into the game. Are there more they could have done like adding more maps to split screen and adding android 17 ex. But I'm extremely happy with how the game looks so far. Can't wait to get it
Bro made this video because he wants FighterZ 2, im crying 🫰🏽😭 how does he complain about controls and charging ki, when that is literally an aspect of EVERY DRAGON BALL GAME… INCLUDING LEGENDS! Ain’t no way he made this video and it’s not satire. No way.
Whats sad is i bet this guys subs will actually list to his shit opinions and not buy it without experience it themselves, i hate people that listen to other people's opinions then see for themselves
LOL. The classic "My channel is dying so time to start grifting for engagement" phase. A temporary solution for now, but it's guaranteed career suicide.
