Hats off to the both of you! I have a small driveway that I had to go out and snow blow on 7 different occasions just to keep up with the plow piles at the end of my driveway and let me tell you, just that was exhausting. I can’t imagine having multiple accounts to clear for employees come morning. You both really show the hard work it takes to own and operate a business. Stay safe.
@dominick253

Just wait until it stops snowing and do it once.
@vendbiz8076
@vendbiz8076 2 года назад
@@dominick253 That would be ideal, but since I’m on a hill, the snow at the end of my driveway becomes slushy and heavy making it difficult to use my snow blower. As the snow melts, water carves out a tunnel in the snow banks and runs down the hill. If I waited until the snow stopped, I would have to hand shovel and I’m getting to old for that haha. My neighbors waited until the snow stopped and while they were working away removing heavy snow, I was already done and relaxing. 👍

Dang I didn’t make the video! Lol! I waved to you when I was leaving Frito Lay Industrial Park yesterday. It was probably right before PQ showed up with McD’s for lunch. Big fan of the page. I had my own lawn care business for 5yrs while working a full time masonry restoration job. I couldn’t grow enough working full time days to make the leap. After 5yrs I got burnt out working 7 days a week construction & lawn care. Now I help my cousin out of Louisville with big snow events. They are husband/wife team same as you guys. They have a backup plow truck in the event one of theirs go down. I use the backup during big events to have 3 plows going.

The worst snowstorm ever was November 2014 15 miles south of Buffalo, New York smack dab in the middle of the snow belt. We were only supposed to get 3 ft of snow in the most persistent snow band areas, and ended up getting 7ft 4 inches of Thunder snow in just 32 hours. Living right in the middle of the snowiest snow belt in Western New York you know you are screwed when you start hearing thunder every couple of minutes with wicked lightning strikes. 10 inches of snow per hour Is not unusual in these parts. I honestly thought our six foot snowstorm in just 22 hours would never be topped, but the Snowvember 7.4 feet crush it by 16 inches! Lake Erie is the biggest baddest Lake Effect snow-making machine pummeling Buffalo NY Rochester NY and Syracuse NY often with no mercy. In just the past 3 weeks we have gotten over 34 inches and my town should hit our 315 inch yearly average by spring ✌.

Get yourself a balaclava and a enclosedsnowmobile helmet. No snow down the neck and no snow in the face anymore. It is almost like your in a heated cab. You can put a communicator on the helmet and can listen to music or communicated with your team, Get a helmet mount for your camera and attach to the helmet. If you decide to run a helmet do not run a jacket with a hood as the hood will fill with snow. You will be rocking with no snow in the face

My hubby works, so it’s up to me to clear things to the barn & take care of the 2 horses (mine & a friend’s). We got 12”, it’s a challenge! Western NY gets the lake effect off of Lakes Erie & Ontario, so we can get slammed! 1/8 mile midget track around the flags! LOL!!! God bless you both! I’m doing this & just turned 71!!

Traffic can get scary after a bad snow fall. A few years ago the news showed the state of Virginia city traffic with cars slipping and sliding in only 1/2 inch of snow lol. Up here in Canada, we still wear our shorts if it's only 1/2 and inch of snow and it's not until there's 3 to 4 inches of snow on the roads that we slow down our driving. My wife just reminded me that it's HER that wears shorts when it's snowing (while she helps me shovel the driveway and front sidewalk), and it's just because she still gets hot flashes lol. When we first moved into the neighborhood, the other people shoveling snow just stared at her in amazement. Then she shouted to our next door neighbor, in a very loud voice.,....."Hot Flashes", and grinned. He told his neighbor and you could see the info go up the street and down the other side 'til the person just across the road from us told her..."NOW I get it"!

I did snow for over 20 years , some storms ore relentless . Had a Walker with snow blower . U just wear the snow . It can be so tough , especially with ice . U just want to give up . But u can’t . Hours and hours in the cold , stuff freezes and doesn’t work . And sometimes u are on contract so the big storms are always profitable . Then I just went back to less sites and then each year took on less . We did tons of hand shovelling , plowing , blowing . I decided that I worked hard enough April to dec , need time to recharge and rest in the winter . . Now I bought a sawmill and make live edge lumber . Just do 7 to 10 driveways now, no pressure . I feel for them it’s extremely hard work in tough conditions . Thankful they can lean on each other . It shows how resilient they are . Keep up the good work . You appreciate the warmth and coziness of your home after it’s done . Then when the checks come in you remember why u worked so hard .

You are both amazing guy's. Now i totally hate the snow, but where i live in Ireland we do not get anything like that, and could have a winter without snow. I am never going to complain again about the snow we get when and if we get it. After watching you working your butts off and not all from inside the warmth of the truck. I just worry too that when you are so tired. would you not be better of going to sleep in the truck where you are keeping it running for the heat. while having a snug warm blanket to put over yourself. Better safe than sorry. Please stay safe, and bring a box of gloves with you to take the wet ones off. I still think you are amazing and i take my hat off to you if i was wearing one. Thank you for the great content that you bring to us. I appreciate you so much. Your channel is the one i try to save till last, It's kinda like leaving something you love so much on your plate till last cos you want it there but don't want it gone either LOL. if that makes any sense at all. Our son in law works for a lawn care company and they plow during the winter as well. He would come home long enough to get about 3 hours of sleep the past 3 days and right back at it to keep up with the snow. They have several 0 tolerate accounts in multiple surroundings towns on top of other businesses and residential accounts.That is the same storm that came though Illinois and dumped 15 inches. They closed all the roads interstates in the area overnight to allow the plow drivers some sleep as well. Hats off to you and your wife as well as all emergency personnel, city, state, and all other plow drivers

You talked about TQ sorry PQ getting to tired. That was me last weekend here in delaware. We didn’t get that big of a storm but running around getting everything ready Friday, then a 3 year old that didn’t want to sleep Friday night, means I was up for over 36 hours. I had to call my partner and have a relief driver come in. As you said you get to a point you can’t stay awake. Just starting out in the plow game (over 20 years ago) I would stay up for 48 hours sleep for 3 or 4 then do it all over again. Now that’s when the east coast got storms like you guys are getting this year. Any more after 18 hours I’m calling in my relief and I’m down for at least 8-10. Keep up the great work and stay safe. Till next time keep salting keep plowing keep making that money.

I talked to another business owner years ago. He owned a mini golf place here on Cape Cod. I own a lawn sprinkler business here. We were talking about going to work for someone else would be really tough. The question came up “Would you want to go back and work a 9-5?” We both agreed, “ No way, I’d rather work 80 hours a week and have freedom. Not sure if that makes sense but it does to me” Why do we work so much? So we don’t have to work at a 9-5. Cheers warm up. Your videos are great.

You may be eating a cheeseburger sandwich minus the bread but at least it’s not a vegetarian burger minus the main part the burger part!! The most important part of the meal!!! I definitely can tell you that I wouldn’t be able to make it with out some kind of meat at every meal that I might have during the day!!! Remember keep up all the hard work buddy!!! Oh and when I would plow snow during a ice storm I would always put my stuff inside so that it would be nice and dry ready to go and next at the beginning of the sei would go to menards and grab the biggest box of the biggest and heavy duty trash bags that I could find!! I would use them to put over my stuff to keep clean in between jobs that way they wouldn’t be all Ice covered!!! You might think the bags are a waste of money but it definitely would help me out from my stuff from freezing up and having down time!!! You have down time you are loosing money plus if I happened to loose a bag for some reason going down the road it wasn’t that big of a deal!! I think In the past 5 or 6 years that I have been really pushing snow I only lost one or two bags!! Plus you can keep using them over and over until they are torn up to bad that they are not doing the job good enough!! I’d just have a box of bags behind the seat all year long and if I needed one for something else I still had them in the truck!!! Just a thought for you!! It definitely worked for me!!!!

You can always put a black or any type of trash bag over the handlebars and the control panel to keep the ice off

Don't hurt yourself. Push that sewer grate in place with the plow. A storm like that is typical here in Southern New England. We get everything.

What do you think about using propane torches to melt snow/ice?

Maybe next year try using a full face or one with a shield on it motorcycle helmet. Put some rain X on the shield. Also try cover up your controls on your grandstands to help with that icing.

You kids keep growing your business and you might have to step up to a loader with a snow box soon. Those big lots can get overwhelming with that much snow! Maybe something you could park at that site and go from there if you have other big accounts nearby? Maybe park the little skidsteer there for pile management if you get a snow box for that unit? I know...I know...it's easy to spend someone else's money! LoL Stay safe and warm...and take power naps!
