This iPhone bug (Mac OS as well) is rendering aspects of the device useless. It seems that when a specific foreign character is rendered in any app it causes a relaunch of the springboard. Afterwards, the effected app can no longer be opened unless some kind of rescue message replaces the offending one.
Let's hope Apple patches this iPhone / iOS / OSX bug ASAP. It appears to be affecting iPhone, iPad, MacBook etc.
