Do you actually know why so many of these horrible crimes against children are legal in the USA?! This is because the United States is the ONLY country in the entire world (yes, literally every country) that has not ratified the convention of the rights of the child. In which precisely that is stated, all children's rights. So, in my opinion, that shows how much the USA actually cares.

Edit: It is currently still legal in 40 states. Most states have a minimum of 15/16 years old. FIVE states have no minumum.. This is crazy to me, Evan, that it is still LEGAL in 46 states for a MINOR to be MARRIED! Not just that but their parents or a judge can sign off on it and it can be to anyone of any age! Also, in a lot of those states minors can't file for divorce in a court of law because they are minors so... why are we the land of the free?

I can relate to the book thing on social gatherings- I come in, no one talks to me for a few hours while I stand in the corner. I finally get fed up and pull out my book/phone to read and what, NOW you wanna talk?? Do I need to look uninterested in making friends to make friends?? If so, why did no one tell me?

Fake Service dogs. Like come on, there are people who need their dog, and you can be sued and/or fined for your dog attacking a service dog. Please leave pets especially those not trained for public access. Your dog lunging at a service dog, can and likely will get kicked or pushed away, if it gets caught before it touches a service dog. Canadian here, and I've always heard "call in" sick. "Call out" is what you do if you're challenging someone to a fight.

fun fact, I stopped buying text books for literally all of my classes in my second year of university, and still managed to get a bachelors of science in chemistry. it turns out, that your profs actually tech you the content of the class, and there are an infinite number of online resources to help you. the ONLY thing text books are good for is maybe to do practice problems. but im proof that even that isnt necessary.

'Call in' makes sense to me, it's the direction of the call, as in 'I placed a CALL from my house IN to the office where I work to tell them I'm not coming in today'. But, I concede that I could be placing my own meaning on it to make it make sense to me, 'Calling out sick' just doesn't sit well in my British ear.

Going off of the one about turning the other way, I'd make it socially acceptable that when you ask someone for directions to a place you have a vague idea of where it is (you know it's "that way", but not WHERE "that way" it is), and they say "oh yes, you want to go "that way" (which is the opposite to YOUR "that way"), to completely disregard their instructions and carry on your "that way" without first pretending to go their "that way" until you're out of sight.

The cleaning thing, I think is a southern thing, most parties in the south the closest friends stay for an after-party/wind down and then clean before leaving. If you don't get to it that night then you text in the AM and see if/when they need help.

Call Out makes zero cents. You are literally Calling In to your work to let them know you are sic. You don't go over to your window and yell to your work that you are sic, that would be Calling Out.

I'm 25 and the not being in relationships things in your mid 20's thing is something that i've had experience with some people having opinions on when they're not warranted. I had 2 relationships as a teenager but once I got diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome when I was 18 I decided to just focus on myself for a while and get used to life with the many hospital appointments and things that came with the diagnosis, plus with a 2 year battle with DWP to get PIP (disability benefits are so rediculously hard to get) there just wasn't the time for relationships. Learning about how if I get into a relationship and maybe we decided to move in together or even if at some point we were to decide to get married, My benefits could either my reduced or completely stopped because the government could deem that I wouldn't need the money because I'd be with someone who has an income and could support me is something I just can't risk. If my benefits were taken away because I was in relationship and that relationship became abusive, just as an example, it would leave me with little to no means to be able to support myself if I was able to escape the abuse. I've had people, including some family members, make remarks about how sad it is that I don't have a girlfriend. I also had some people say that I Should be grateful for the ones who have asked me out and went on to imply that being with a disabled person is such a heavy burden I should be thankful anyone would want to be in a relationship with me. Jessica Kellgren-Fozard has a great video called 'I lost money when I got married' which better explains some of the problems that can come with being on PIP and ESA and being in a serious relationship, maybe one day I'll feel brave enough to risk being in a relationship but for right now it's something that just fills me with so much anxiety and people judging me for not having a relationship since before I was 18 is really not fun to deal with.

I was just a cabin leader for a Teen Summer Camp (in Australia ... so summer and it was CovidSafe), and we had a girl talk session where the topic of knowing if a guy was the one came up. I felt so sad that these girls felt they needed to be in a relationship as teens.

Is there something genuinely harmful about accepting cookies and targeted advertising? I personally don’t feel affected at all. I can tell the big internet universe knows way to much about me (I get jewish-specific ads that’s to say) but I just don’t really care. Is there an actual threat that I should be aware of? When I google it it’s all about advertising which just does not bother me.
