Its' the sense of community that drives Philly born and raised. Many of us have generations of family here and even if you move away there is no place like home....Good, bad, and the ugly we come together to deal and heal! PERIOD
You have to talk to more than one person from one place in Philly to get different experiences. I have never lived in the hoods of Philly, I lived in a neighborhood and I am 71 years old. Will Smith didn't live in the hood, Kevin Bacon didn't live in the hood, Richard Gere didn't live in the hood, Some of Roots didn't live in the hood, some of Boyz to Men didn't live in the hood. I'm just saying this scene represents the inner city.
The people of philadelphia can make the deal or break the deal for you; A honest review without saying too much. If you can survive the trashy streets, the loudness of folks, unnecessary bad attitudes and lack of consideration for others and respecting others peoples community from the Philadelphia people, then good luck. The violence is always present due to Lack of respect and consideration of People and other peoples Community around the city. The folks can get very nasty, rude, ghetto and seems violence is the only solution to solve all issues for them. Oh yea you don’t have to live in the hood to experience some of whats being said. Philly has a competitive nature and people are always jealous and pretending only to try to stab you in the back later for something they envy about you. Leaving the nest can be helpful to fully see why you can appreciate Philly without actually living in Philly I grew up in Philly and left many times and still I appreciate where I grew up without living there.
