Thank you for saying what I have been trying to tell my friends. I am a citizen of the US but grew up in the Middle East. i moved to the States in 77 and joined the navy. things were not perfect, but compared to what is happening now, there is no comparison . at least people could talk about anything and agree to disagree. today you can't have a conversation with someone because as soon as you say something that they don't agree with, they resort shouting and, of course, the name calling. this has torn friends and families apart

If only our mainstream media would be as honest!

My deep respect to Dr. Victor Davis Hanson

I’ve followed politics for nearly 60 years. When Barack H. Obama came on the scene, I had a bad feeling. No, it wasn’t his race, it was the speed with which he was in the limelight. He came out of nowhere, to become the front runner of the Democrat Party for President. He was basically a nobody. A community organizer from Chicago, a state Senator then a junior Senator in our Congress. He maintained no voting record. Clever. His rise to the top was a very well choreographed plan to put him in power to CHANGE our nation. He campaigned on CHANGE. Not all change is good, we have since learned. He and Michelle, were the first President and First Lady I have ever heard state this country was bad, wrong, not the greatest nation in the world……be not proud of her. I was repulsed by their attitude. From the beginning he was anti law enforcement. He admitted once he knew nothing about the case, but the policeman was wrong. That is Obama in the nutshell. He’s a divider, not a unifier. His ideology is to breakdown everything the USA stands for and replace it with a socialist society. He openly admitted he’s a socialist. He was put forward as a Democrat and loyal Dems voted for him. What a fraud. He has done more damage to this great nation than anyone else in history. He’s still causing damage…..he’s probably in his 3rd term covertly calling the shots with barely coherent Biden, at the podium. My first impression of BHO was accurate. He was the Trojan Horse. We let him in.

I'm an old guy, and I watched all this happen. I thought we were getting somewhere, in spite of the unrest that began with King and Jackson. We actually were making progress, however slow. But once we were divided into tribes, all progress stopped. The military is a real problem, for reasons he mentioned. I'm sure there are other obvious problems staring us in the face that we don't dare discuss. Are we going to be divided into a set of reservations, which we, older people, will remember as states? Will we be forced onto these reservations at the point of a gun, or will we go willingly knowing the alternatives are death and destruction?

About fifty years ago I was talking to my Father about racism. He told me that the most racist institution in our country was the federal government. It took me a while.

I grew up in a small town in Colorado. By small, I mean about 750 people. We had no people of Black and very few of hispanic descent. However, everyone said "Hello." It didn't seem to require knowing you. They were just being polite. When we drove past someone; we waved. It was just the way we lived. That does not exist in cities or even highly diverse communities, because no one knows who is their friend and neighbor or not. Ours is not just a society where adults have taught their children and the children of others to hate, but it is an impolite, unkind society. That is a horrible statement about how we raise and educate our children.

I was with friends having a few drinks and one of my friends, who happens to be of Hispanic decent, called my a racist for saying that a lot of illegals really don't drive very well during rush hour. That sparked an argument with my friends. I settled the whole thing by sticking up for him but I called him out on his indoctrination in political correctness. Because that's what it is. That said, he won't talk to me anymore after being friends all of our lives. I suppose I'll see him at our 50th class reunion later this summer. I hope we at least could talk to each other.

In 2008 I was visiting my daughter in London.- she was a university student at the time . We went to a local bar for a chat and that very night Obama won the presidency. It was being shown live on a big screen and there was a positive atmosphere. I turned to my daughter and her boyfriend and said: "Im sorry but I don't get a good feeling about Obama. He seems too good to be true and when someone seems too good to be true things usually don't go well" The people on the table next to us over heard me and became angry. They complained to the bar owner and we were asked to leave. Ive always had good instincts about people and the future and I have always paid the price for it as well.

Wow thank you this helps my understanding of what’s going on so much! I found myself telling my kids you need to find out how much Native American blood you have! Hoping to open some doors for them. They have it on both sides, yet did not use it for higher education etc. I’d rather do as MLK said and just enjoy my friends not have to dig for a reason to be able to get a good job/career/position. He’s right. I’m 55 now but when I was in my 20s, I lived and worked in Manhattan. I had many black friends and I chose them not because they were black. It’s because they were really good guys. I judged on meritocracy and surrounding myself with people of all races and colors, because they met a hopeful stander that I had , now I think of race 10 times more because I see how bad it could affect me as an old white guy. I fear that they’re looking at me in a certain way not because of who I am, but what color I am and I currently have no black friends to no fault of my own other than the color of my skin.

Since Biden took office, there seem to have been more unfavorable results in America. These results include effects on the markets, such as price declines and sharp increases in inflation, as well as bank failures. I wonder if the sudden increase in interest rates will help value investors or if it would be wiser to stay away from the stock and financial markets for the time being.
