@@marvelfanatic9535 i felt that they wrote themselves to a corner, the individual xmen do not have enough time to build compared to avengers where most of them get their own solo films, marvel better give each other them a good solo film before forming the xmen!!
"There is a power BEYOND good and evil. The power to CREATE and the power to DESTROY." It's more than just the nostalgia of the 90's, these cartoons mean something to our generation. Seeing scenes like these as a kid expounded my mind and imagination in ways I'm still to this day discovering. Big shoutout to the writers and producers of the time who PROPERLY borrowed from the source material and created this masterpiece.
The cartoon kinda was Wolverine centric. He’s was the most popular character at the time. There were so many episodes where he at least had to be in because of the characters popularity.
Shoutout to Catherine Disher (voice actress for Jean) and Norm Spencer (voice actor for Cyclops - RIP). Their voice acting for the entire Phoenix + Dark Phoenix Saga is a MASTERPIECE for any animated show I've ever scene/heard - including anime.
The Phoenix and Dark Phoenix saga is the greatest comic book adaptation of all time too bad the movies won't follow the model of what this classic show did.
The way she dissed Storm's power as mere annoyance and then complimented her as strong because of a heightened sensation when she has to struggle to "get at them"/"combat them" is hilarious to me. Especially since up until that point Storm was clearly the most powerful of the X-men 😆
Lol. You really think Jean cant just Dismantle stroms Very Being? A mere elemental powers is only a Piece of powder when facing The most Powerful force in known Creation
Phoenix"Why do you care about this body" Cyclops "I love her" Phoenix""Love......I do not understand your answer is unacceptable" captures perfectly what this story really was about what I really liked about the original phoenix stories before the retcons and revivals of Jean and later trash like Avengers vs X-Men kind of sullied it was that it managed to be cosmic in scope yet strangely intimate in a way to the xmen team.....it was a cosmic love story that was grounded in sacrifice for loved ones.
@@rotyler2177 I’m late but she doesn’t control weather but the atmosphere at will. If she wanted to take gravity away she could as well as apply it ten fold. Storm is so strong fr
And Kinberg (producer/director) gave a quote to Total Film magazine where he stated outright that “[We must] find a way to ground it so it’s not too intergalactic.” sooo someone's lying. We can't have both..
The original X-Men debuted in 1963. That comic was cancelled ca. 1970. The "All-New All Different" X-Men debuted in 1975. The original Dark Phoenix storyline began in 1979 and concluded in 1980. The X-Men cartoon premiered in 1992, adapting stories published from the seventies, eighties, and nineties, grafting nineties characters into the narrative where they weren't originally, and for the seventies/eighties characters who were there originally, they were mostly redesigned to wear their nineties costumes. I think that's what "Peter Parker" is trying to convey.
@@PORUNGAable No the Phoenix was definitely defeated in this timeline. Maybe ther was a other timeline you saw but that's not important because marvel want to make the timeline happen in the movies were she was destroyed by the Scarlet Witch. Also the Scarlet Witch is way more powerful than the Phoenix... If she say "No more Phoenix" there is no way for the Phoenix to live. Also the Phoenix is weak to chaos magic so....
@@Nezukooooooooooooo1234 actually the Phoenix is still active, as the nexus of all psionic that has, does, and will exist it cannot be destroyed. Yes admittedly it can be banished but not killed.
@@darienshields9218 The Scarlet Witch is way more powerful than the Phoenix. Also the Phoenix can die like every other cosmic creature... And the Scarlet Witch destroyed the Phoenix with Jean Grey together. Why you say something what never happened. The Phoenix was killed by Scarlet Witch so..... Also the Scarlet Witch is the God of Chaos...
yeah i said it a while ago. by while ago i mean after the last stand. that they should have just used the entire light and dark phoenix sagas from this series as a journal as to how it should have gone.
Scott: "Defend yourselves. But remember, Jean is up there with her. Be careful." Storm: "I call upon the power of the hurricane." Me: ☠ Storm was like, do you not see the cosmic being trying to destroy us??
Does nobody cares mean anything to you? Guess what? We're not here because of some stupid trailer to some god awful film. We came here because we love the 90s animated series.
Cyclops determines to defend himself and asks that everyone be careful not to hurt Jean. Storm:"I call upon the power of the hurricane" I don't think that is what scott meant, Storm.
ItsJairo if only they could learn from Logan and make ALL of their marvel movies that way! They obviously can't all be rated R, but good grief, can we get some good writing and great character development of the villain??!!!!
@@solidsnakemgs2180 just like the 6 infinity stones.. the cosmic intity thats too powerful than those stones.. and oh! Thor's lover..Jane? She was almost posessed by a cosmic energy too.. and the fantastic four also.. just that jean got the most powerful energy. So sad for the others
lolelolalol2 I agree, this will always be my favorite adaptation, yet I would have loved to see how X Men: Evolution would have handled it, I’m sure just as epic!!!
Man when I tell you I love Storm in Rogue in this series. Those two played no games when it came to protecting the team. The Phoenix force is so interesting. The X-men didn't know all what it could do. For anyone who don't know the force is the nexus of all psionic energy. It can absorb it, redirect it. Transmute matter and all. So directly hitting it with psionic energy attack typically won't work. It is immune to it. Storm and Rogue were really the only two X-men here that could've really battled it. What some people don't know about Storm in the comics is that she can manipulate the elements running through your body and not directly attack you with energy. If this wasn't Jean and had this series shown this part of Storm's power too, she could have caused extreme wind pressure and exploded the host from the inside, or froze it's organ, bones, heart and shatter them or cause the host to go brain dead by manipulating the electrical forces in it. Phoenix would've had no choice but to leave the host's body but she would have put it in a cosmic egged for a time to heal it. This was Jean so of course Storm wouldn't even attempt that. As we saw, she got worried when Rogue started absorbing her power, Again it wasn't energy directed at her. Had she not thought quick enough to get Rogue off her, Rogue could have potentially weakened her.
Jeff's WCW2K Universe 95-97 that’s what I mean, I love both the soundtrack in this episode and I love how Rogue’s always looking out for Storm as a sister, in fact that’s what I love about all the X Men, they look out for each other like they’re family. That’s something what Bryan Singer missed
"Ducks!...I HATE...ducks" Another funny line: "What is this?"Catch the X-Men" Day?! This episode is legendary and the voice actress behind the Dark Pheonix is iconic.id be so scared of her if she were real...
I guess one of Dark Phoenix’s powers is hair growth too, cause she’s got some major volume in this fight. If destroying the universe doesn’t work out, she should audition for a hair commercial.
she can reorganize shit on a molecular level, that means she can destroy an entire planet or turn it into something else, Phoenix here is not killing everyone in 1 sec because jean is suppressing her power.
I've compared depression with Jean/dark Phoenix...and the part where she talks about love got me. With dp, it's brushed away. Dp (Phoenix) doesn't and or blocks love but love is want keeps us alive...if we don't have it we self destruct, and destroy people around us...mainly because they don't understand or not there.
This is the true Dark Phoenix.. it's phoenix itself who speak and control Jean's body and use it power.. Not like in the Dark Phoenix movie where we can see nothing about the Phoenix..like speak, power.. in movie it's all about Jean.. I mean she have consciousness even she lost control and she speaks and not the phoenix.. and in ending she even be a good person, I mean she help the X Men to defeat the alien.. and this is not the Dark Phoenix.. this is just she use a little bit of Phoenix power.. Dark Phoenix is where the Phoenix control Jean completely and lost her consciousness like in this video
@@BiG-JuPO1O1 The Phoenix Force doesn't have emotions since it's a cosmic primal force however upon merging and being hosted in Jean, it experienced feelings of fear, love, anger and lust - hence why the Dark Phoenix is so destructive. It's basically an all consuming infinitely powerful force having it's first taste of an emotional breakdown
@@cainyourkids That's because it found Jean as it's rightful host, at the same time experiencing human emotion from it's host. Mostly she doesn't care much about anyone emotions.
They won’t adapt the Dark Phoenix storyline in the MCU. FOX X-MEN already fucked it up not only once, but twice. It left a bad taste in a lot of peoples mouth I’m sure.
@@supremedreams6789 I could almost forgive them for non-Ms Marvel' powers Rogue (never) but, fucking Sanca as Jean?!! I'm done hoping they do X-men franchise any justice ever. Sad.
@@supremedreams6789 You know the sad thing, the MCU did it's own version of Dark Phoenix with Wanda and it was better than either of FoX-men's attempts.
@@youcantspellhandsomewithouthan In the 90s TV series it is Rogue and Gambit as you see how many times he tries to seduce her and sometimes you see her jealous it is funny.
Lol at the Doctor Strange and Thor cameo at the end. If Wanda hadn't gotten popular in the MCU, I wonder how it'd be like if Jean/(Dark) Phoenix would be the one to co-star in Multiverse of Madness.
love how storm isnt afraid of phoenix. she was holding back her powers because it was Jean. storm couldve gave phoenix a fight long enough for others to get away if they wanted.
Cam M, Jean Phoenix is powerful. The hungry galactus excuse is bullshit cuz he was fighting Rachel who is a way inferior avatar compared to her mother (YEAH, people want to deliberately forget that important detail). You all also seem to forget there are different versions of Phoenix and there is the Phoenix Force itself. Jean as White Phoenix of the Crown is the most powerful version of Phoenix as it is an avatar who can use the Force to the fullest extent. I believe any incarnation of Phoenix, Dark, Green and obviously White is at least a universal threat. White Phoenix is multi-versal especially if she is in the White Hot Room. White Phoenix would turn Galatus into her bitch as the universe she was holding to fix had him in it. Galactus is definitely not more or as powerful than the actual full Phoenix Force itself, as it doesn't even have a tangible body/form that he can attack and is actually multiversal because it exists in multiple universes.
I agree about white phoenix but for the regular version the comparison with galactus I think is fair.rachel is much weaker then her mom but she is stronger then any other host such as cyclops or magik....she is a worthy avatar probably the only one other then her mom of course......all the others are pretty mediocre and certainly lack the power and control of those 2
Storm had to step up as captain coz Cyclops was simping over Jean and let his feelings get in the way of the team. Then when Rogue saw Phoenix attack Storm, she was like "Aaaawww heellll to the No" and jumped in but couldn't do much. LOVE Rogue.
It's crap like this that explains why people hate mutants. Would you be at ease with someone like Jean Grey around to act as the host for some batshit crazy cosmic firebird?
Except the Phoenix Force isn't a mutation, it's an interdimensional cosmic entity that just seeks out a powerful host body. Check out the TL;DR Phoenix Force for me info.
Okay I don't think anyone knows this but the PHOENIX FORCE is a entity tasked with destroying and restarting universes that can't function correctly. Therefore it thinks its doing its job.
I don't think storm can use her powers to its full potential on Earth because she could completely wreck the atmosphere and the climate a battle in space would be cool tho
LOL What? Storm get low-diff by the phoenix with no effort at all, stop with your nonsense here, seriously. I like storm but what you're saying here is nonsense. You just saw storm here get taken down like it's nothing here. The Dark Phoneix causally destroys galaxies just from moving through it all. Storm would get annihilated even with all her power. It's NOT comparable, AT ALL.
