One of the most powerful psychics and telekinetics on Earth and she's only marginally more useful in a fight than Jubilee. Please support my patreon / tedfufu
0:55 Did Jean for real just TRIP? An entire battle going on, and she just TRIPS? No fighting involved, no epic mutant powers, Jean just struggles with keeping herself upright.
It feels like she purposefully faceplanted so she could pretend to be knocked out and have an excuse to not help out. Although to be fair, she's actually more help prostrated on the ground than trying to do anything else.
@@phillippotee1910 My favorite part is... There is *no goddamn reason* for her to trip on a cord before she gets hit by the beam! She could have just got hit by the beam running just like everybody else. Someone decided "Jean Grey doesn't look useless enough in this scene. She should trip first to make her look worse." and paid extra animaton budget to make that happen.
@@kevingriffith6011 Damn Kevin…of all the times I’ve watched this episode and laughed at that scene, I legit never thought of it that way….dude you’re right lol. Someone on the animation or writing team must’ve hated her lol
My biggest pet peeve with 90's/00's superhero cartoons. Characters like Jean Grey and Sue Storm are written like the most useless eye candy when in actuality, they are the strongest members of their respective teams.
Brent Altemus Agreed! I also always loved how Rogue would have to finish Jean’s tasks because she was too weak to do it herself. I especially loved the scene when Jean fell off the cliff, and Rogue had to fly down and catch her. What I hated is that the writers of the X-Men show were very inconsistent with how Jean could sometimes use her telekinesis to levitate herself and sometimes she could not. Truly, Jean was the weakest of the X-Men in this version of the show. I did like XMEN EVOLUTION, though, where Jean’s powers were played as much stronger and greater than they were in X-Men The animated series.
People talk about the power cord and the broken shield, but I think the one that takes the cake is her proudly saying she's phoenix, and then faints immediately for no reason.
To be fair it's a fairly accurate recreation of the scene from the comics. Of course it probably worked better there, because comic Jean wasn't useless lol.
1:03 Probably the funniest part. Nimrod scans Jubillee and Jean and just decides to blast Jean. Taking out the easier target even though Jubilee has like 1/10000000th the power that Jean does.
The Sentinel had to spend a few seconds deciding whether it was even worth using a energy bolt or just waiting till she randomly fainted to a mild breeze
@@ingloriousMachina it's considered a sub-skill depending on the universe. Like in the tv show heroes the cop Matt starts off only reading minds. His abilities evolve to mind control. For some characters mind control is a separate ability. It's up to whoever writes the characters.
jjnix95 Well she may control a different sphere of power, otherwise I'm sure she would've done that a long time ago Unless she's just so incompetent that she forgot her own power
Lol I remember jeans "Uaaagggghhh" even as a single digit aged kid I started realize how silly it was and laughed every time. I actually looked forward to it, it was so funny.
@Thelondonbadger Congratulations, you figured out criminals break laws. Next week: let's see if you jump to the conclusion that because people still steal, we should make stealing legal.
@Thelondonbadger banning guns has nothing to do with safty, and everything to do with control. Gun control, they want to control your guns, because then there will be nothing stopping them from controlling you. What amazes me is the left wants to call the right fascist, yet if they really believed the right was fascist they would want to own guns, instead they want to control them, like a fascist.
The weaknesses of Jean Grey: - Thinking - Mildly strenuous tasks - Power cords - Trap doors - Any effort whatsoever - Nightmares - Groups of somewhat incompetent villains - Heavy objects - Glasses of water - Life in general (I’ve heard the voices of the people, and imma add some more to the list; here we go!) - seasoned food - A young boy’s trousers - Invisalign - Breathing - Mind Reading - Sending Telepathic Messages of any kind despite the fact that’s literally one of the only things she can do decently and she still manages to f*** it up. 👏 Edit: 1k likes? That’s, like, a lot, I think. Thankies😙
*Villain breathes* *Jean Grey:* Aaauah aaah ooahh (moans in ecstacy then faints) *Scott:* JEEAAAANNNNNN!!! *Rogue:* Uses a tenth of her power to do what Jean was trying to do
2:10 is the best part to me. She's talking shit like she's about to put an end to the fight but as soon as that guy broke her hold she screams out "please!!"
After the first time something like this happened. I would have her in the training sim for a straight 50 hours. You cannot have one of our main teammates gassing themselves out after 15 SECONDS of using their powers
@@darkphoenix3901 she can't kill Apocalypse by herself in movie. and in fact, Apocalypse in movie is also have weird power level. one time he could decapitate couple of thugs head in an instant, but hardly kill one weaker x-men like scott or jean without phoenix
It's actually in line with her original character. Jean was originally the most useless x-man who only really served as a damsel in distress. It wasn't until the phoenix force arc that she became a powerful character
