Really helpful video, thank you, especially as the manual only came in Chinese. I bought it but came across some problems and am wondering if it's all normal or if I have a defective product. Thanks in advance for any feedback! (1) The machine emits a squeaking sound every few seconds. (2) When switching from normal mode to night mode, it takes about 1/2 hr - 1 hr to become quiet. (3) Humidity level never gets to my target of 50%. The lowest it's gotten is 53%, in a room that's much smaller than the advertised 50 sq m. This is in Kuala Lumpur, where average indoor humidity is 60-70%, so I would have thought you could achieve 50% in a tiny room with closed door & window. (4) The first time I switched from night mode back to normal mode, humidity indicator jumped from 53% to 62%. I wasn't able to recreate this (but I've only had the machine a couple days).
@homekitnews
@homekitnews Год назад
Hi, I’m not sure what the squeaking sound is, but as there’s only a fan as the main moving part, I can only assume it’s this. As regards the change in volume when switching to quiet mode, check whether you have “drying after power off” option enabled. This normally only works when it’s turned off, but it might be the reason for the issue you’re experiencing too. If it makes no difference, then I’m not sure what it might be, sorry. Finally, as regards humidity levels, make sure there’s enough free space around the unit itself, and also ensure the filter is cleaned regularly. These will all impact the functionality of the unit.

I found the handle really hard to remove, and it took me ages to do so. I'll probably just leave it off anyway as I carry the whole tank with two hands when emptying. The little plastic floating thing inside the tank doesn't seem to have any kind of connection to the main unit, so I wonder how it knows when full (weight maybe?), and what if anything that floating thing does. It doesn't appear to be a switch. Thanks again for your video.

Could you please provide information regarding the temperature of the airflow emitted by the dehumidifier during its operation, specifically, does the air flow tend to be cold or warm?
@homekitnews
@homekitnews Год назад
The airflow coming out of the device tends to reflect the general air temperature of the room in my experience, so during the summer it can be quite warm, unless you have the AC on, and the room is cool, in which case the air is only slightly warmer. In winter (even though winters are mild where I am), the airflow will be cool.

@homekitnews
@homekitnews 6 месяцев назад
It’s the same for my device here, but aside from manually brushing the dust off, I don’t think there’s anything else you can do. I don’t believe there’s a HEPA filter available as it would be too thick to fit in the thin area.
@UnikumMitsubishi
@UnikumMitsubishi 6 месяцев назад
@@homekitnews thank you for reply v interesting, only had for a few months, quite a lot of dust, not sure what the metal fins are, do yours bend easily too? Going to try and cut a filter to fit, else will just put my air purifier horizontal and push air through it first.😂
@homekitnews
@homekitnews 6 месяцев назад
@UnikumMitsubishi i assume the fins are part of the process of humidity removal, but how I’m not sure. Maybe heat dispersal. If it’s this reason, it makes sense the fins are quite thin, to let heat disperse faster. I’ve tried in the past to be careful with cleaning them, but admittedly it’s not easy. If you’re getting a lot of dust, an air purifier is certainly an important piece of equipment for your home, and not just for the dehumidifier. We have a dog, so a lot of dust and hair is generated.

If your room is adequately temperature controlled with an AC, then it’ll pump out cool air, but on a hot day with little climate control in place, it’ll push out warm air. So essentially it reflects the surrounding temperature to a large degree.

Hi, thanks for the detailed review. Were you able to check if there is another mode that it will let it go lower than the auto mode you tested? I think the promo image speak of some night mode. I was interested in this mainly for the declared noise levels, which is equivalent of a 13L dehumidifier, but 45db is more in line with the other 22/25L dehumidifiers. I should import it, and it gets quite expensive, so it should be worth the extra money.

@homekitnews
@homekitnews 5 месяцев назад
@@ChristianBrandoni Hi, the specs I show near the start are basically from the Xiaomi (Taiwan) website, and although the website removed it as a listed product a while ago, it seems to be back with slightly amended specs (11L now instead of 10L). However, the 10L mentioned is not related to its capacity to store water, it's related to how much water is removed from the air per day, based on specific temperature and humidity levels. So in this case, the new listing shows this (once translated to English) "Daily dehumidification 11L (27℃/60% relative humidity), 20L (30℃/80% relative humidity)* ". I hope I understood you correctly, but if I didn't, let me know. Here's the link to the webpage in question - www.mi.com/tw/product/xiaomi-smart-dehumidifier/

@homekitnews 5 месяцев назад
@@ChristianBrandoni in all honesty, whilst it’s been great for me, a couple of others have reported a specific problem that relates to it failing, with a specific error code. I haven’t had that, although the display has slightly failed in the last few months, so some of the LEDs failed, making it harder to discern the numbers on the display. Considering you’d need to import it, it might be safer to buy locally.
