That is genuinely the entire reason I love these games. I've only played the first kiwami and haven't beaten it yet. But everything I have seen is so dramatic and serious, but mixed with such stupid and silly stuff that is played completely straight. It is such a weird mix, and I absolutely love it so much.

@@bexxebu5913that is true but I feel like 1:24 is like some kind of weird dream the guy on the ground is having before the smack snaps him back to reality, and with a connection to the dream like what happens sometimes in real life when you’re subconsciously aware of something while you’re asleep and your brain inserts it into your dream.

The thing that proves just how good Yakuza is is the fact that it can have both very serious, very heavy dramatic moments, and also very wacky, borderline cartoonish humor moments in the same game, and somehow neither of them disrupt the mood of the other whatsoever. Making those co-exist so seamlessly is not possible outside of a real masterpiece.

Love this! What could have made it better is if you spliced some majima segments throughout and in order. So after every like seven scenes, one where he dresses up as a woman, then pops out the sewer, then just wants to play darts. Kiryu-chan!
