Traded a Glarry for this? It's clear who got the best end of this deal ;)

Ah it was the BB604 specifically. Everybody's heard of the Yamaha BB but they usually think of the roundier PJ's

I've seen a couple of the BB604 go back in the last few years in my area, just didn't have the funds to grab them in time. Yamaha is so underrated by most players. Also heard good things about Nathan East preamps in various models including this one. Did you club the guy on the head with the Glarry and just run away with the Yamaha? That would make more sense :P

Lmao, no, she wasn't a bass player but wanted to learn at some point. She wanted it as a different option and she didn't like active basses. IIRC she won the yamaha playing poker, which is even funnier.

Well you definitely came out better on the deal. Even if the Yamaha was rewired as passive, it would still be so much nicer of a bass. I started on a BB200 back 1990 and it's probably why I never really went much into Fender stuff, the Yamaha was just so good that Fender stuff at the time couldn't really keep up. I've only owned two fenders ever, most of my basses are Japanese made stuff (Matsumoku and one more mysterious one but should be one of the various ones from there in the early 80s heh)
