This dance is known as Chindimba. In many cases, it is Yawo chiefs who perform this dance.
The dancers hold mchila- whilsky in their hands to show that they are free people. In Africa, mchila represents freedom- mtendele/mtunjelele/umutende
In the past years before the Yawo embraced Islam or Christianity, Chindimba was performed during the funeral ceremonies.
