Not gonna lie, I much prefer Pope Pius 13 than Pope Francis.

No you know what? Jude is doing a fucking amazing job at the American accent, it's very convincing, if you didn't know he was British you'd think he was actually American. Fucking bullshit Jude's accent is butchered, it's not.

Am i the only person to believe that the speech he held in the beginning wasn't outrageous? In fact, i even thought that this might be the pope the 21 century desperately needs. Later on i started to doubt that but in the beginning he made decent points. Catholic people have to be way more tolerant in order to be christians.

I'm pretty sure protestants don't believe that man can literally commune directly with God. There could be exceptions though, there are a LOT of different sects of Protestantism.

I completely agree with Alonso about the accent. Jude Law's accent has gotten better but it is not immersive

First take on this is that it isn't pretentious crap, but it's pretentious whatever the opposite of crap is. Pretentious well shot, well acted piffle? Worth a second episode, and it does kind of make fun of religion.

Watched most of it. Found it to be pretty boring to be honest. (Jude Law is great in the role though, and thats saying something cos I usually can't stand the guy.)

I was also thrown off by Jude Law's accent. I was confused because I couldn't tell if he was trying to do an American accent or not. I only realized he was after it was clear he was supposed to be American. Law has never been good at accents, most infamously in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

Not always, but I do get annoyed at all the Brits playing American. In the Preacher I keep thinking how much better it would have been with Timothy Olyphant or Walter Goggins.
