I good tip with the mig Welder, find a scrap piece of steal the same kinda thickness your gonna be welding, do some practice welds or even just a tack weld and listen out to the sound of the weld you want it to sound like bacon sizzling
Chris, you need to clean that tip on your mig torch. It looks like your cone and contact tip are super dirty. If you don’t have welpers, go buy some and just shove it in the tip and spin it and grab big chunks off the contact tip.
When you fill holes like that on your trunk too, realistically If you’re new you have to do the hole by filling 1/3-1/2 of the hole stopping, then filling another 1/3-1/2 and so on. Make sure you fill over the top of the hole a little for when you grind. Make sure everything melts together too for no holes. I went to school for welding, and am currently a professional metal finisher.

those glasses are made to be form fit. heat the orange part up and bend it so it "hooks" around the back of your ear. they sell them straight because everyones ears arent shaped the same!
When welding sheet metal 0.23 wire should be what you use. When it pops like that, it means its too hot for the wire speed. Your on the right track to tack them like you were, you just need to get the settings correct. Use a few scraps to practice and check your settings. The larger holes, a little piece of sheet metal is best. Overall looks decent
Good work on holes more you do it the more confident you will be and easier it gets the brass helps a lot tho also there is a grinding disc called a poly abrasive disc it will only remove paint and rust so wont sand down the metal or scratch the metal work there super cheap and will keep the comments section from whining 😂😂

Instead of getting new skis lift one of the skies and see how bad the carbides are replacing then will save you some money instead of getting hole new skies
