Let's give some context to what he is saying. Imagine plates of cookies. Each plate has 10 cookies on it. If you take one plate, you have a total of 1 x 10 = 10 cookies. If you take two plates, you have a total of 2 x 10 = 20 cookies. If you take three plates, you have a total of 3 x 10 = 30 cookies (and so on). IF YOU TAKE NO PLATES (OR ZERO PLATES), you have no cookies! Thus, 0 x 10 = 0. Hope this helps!
