Oh yes I so agree, I always wonder about the people in old photos. My mother had a pile of letters from her mothers family, they used to post a letter othe night before, reply in time for the morning post then reply to that in time for the evening post. No telephones yet the conversations are like they are chatting. Fascinating x

I worked in child care for many years and saw quite a few of these non disciplined children. Sad for them and the problems the will have in school and possibly for the rest of their lives fitting into polite society if intervention not done SOON.

These antique book pages are exquisite, Rachel. There is nothing like an original, but a digital kit of these would be lovely! Those fonts are spectacular! This is a great little ephemera project! I admire your "freedom" in which you work, Rachel. Unplanned surprises can be amazing! TFS

These are just fabulous!😍 I love to listen to all your stories and the one about destiny was just so lovely! and I am so glad you found your one!❤ now the dinner story 😮I wouldn't have been able to eat I would have worried about him getting hurt! Nope I was lucky my girls were good, I told them at an early age that if they acted out I wouldn't take them they could stay home with a sitter😂

Oh hoarding is hard to avoid, isn't it. So much pretty, beautiful, fascinating, interesting..... I am conscientiously trying to use up pieces I've received in happy mail that I've hoarded for far too long. Love these ephemera pieces; thank you for the ideas, Rachel. 😊

Rachel, I just love listening to you talk about the wonderful old papers you find. Here in America, you don't find those old things very papers very often. I will tell you this though when I am feeling a little lonely I turn you on earlier in the day and you definitely make me feel that I am sitting at a table with you in the room in person. Especially when you are hunting around in your room, you should see my room that I sew and craft in itty bitty! Enjoy you weekend!

These old documents are beautiful…they make a treasured gift for sharing. I also worked in a retail setting in my first job. It was a very high end ladies dress shop. I wrapped gifts at Christmas and we made huge bows that had yards of ribbon that then had to be hand pulled. One of my all time favorite jobs was working in this dress shop.

Rachael……when tying anything if you do a surgeon’s knot it is easier. The first time you loop your thread through put it through twice and pull taut. It stays tight while you put your thread through the second time in the opposite direction to complete the knot. It’s like a square not with putting the thread through twice in the first half of the knot. Try it, you’ll like it I promise! Blessings from Betty in Ohio.

These are amazing. Absolutely love this idea. I totally agree with life and destiny. I met my husband of 23 years by pulling out the name of a town out of a hat (had 5 different towns in that hat) and happened to walk into the bar he worked in after the place my friend and I planned to go, was not open.

Rachel: history is one of my favorite subjects in life. These pages are tied together, to be pulled apart. Love the title: “document stitch”. Clever! Look at all the different ways you did things. Fabulous! Your thinking on destiny is smart thinking. There is teeth to that. One more thing, which is none of my business. However, here it is. Without saying too much, the question begs to be asked: what’s wrong with that child or what’s wrong with the parents? I’m full blooded Italian and there was no acting up like that at a restaurant or anywhere else. And if we did, it stopped immediately. Carol from California

rachel these old documents are just so gorgeous. i notice that many of them have a postal stamp on them. did the document go through the mail? i didn't notice any fold lines like they had been folded up and have a postal address. i'm confused! can you tell us how that all works please? thank you! i always love hearing you speak about the papers and their history and the art etc.

I think I've said before, it's shocking for people to throw out such antique paperwork even if it is boring receipts etc.😅, they are still history , but I suppose in Europe, they class them as whatevs🤷🏼‍♀️. It still boggles my mind how the paper hasn't disintegrated apart from a few edges over time🤔. You are excused as much as you like😅, I love your randomness, so natural and down to earth🥰. Hope you have got over the nasty old fossil yelling at you 🤗🦩🦩
