NO OMFG WHY DID THIS ACTUALLY HAPPEN THOUGH I JUST LIED DOWN FOR TWO SECONDS AND THEN EVERYONE’S SURROUNDING ME AND MY FRIEND STARTS SAYING “we are gathered here today to mourn the loss of Blake” AND I SHIT YOU NOT THAT HAPPENED WHY HOW WHY DID YOU JUST LIKE HOW CAN YOU SEE INTO MY MIND I’M SCARED NOW
What else would it be it is the same for choir and band Choir we sacrifice the lip singers and easy a kids it is fun And band does that really need and explanation all I gotta say is umm low brass and low woodwind that that is it
fr. one of my friends on the cast for Secret Garden (beautiful play by the way) just lay on the 4 poster plank, and we just took one of the blankets and laid a shroud an said the prayers to the theater gods
My little brother is a boy AND a decent actor AND attractive which means he gets handed all the roles while me and my numerous sisters with years of theater experience are over here like "good job baby enjoy your privleges"
My first play, the romantic interest literally had five lines but he still didn't memorize any of it until we were a month from the show and then he had changed half of them. He was lazy and disrespectful. In conclusion, guys will always get a part. Even if they are terrible.
We are doing Les Mis at our school and there is literally NO GIRL roles for my year group (well there was Young Cosette but the teachers gave it to a Year 10 instead of anybody in 7,8 or 9) but there was only one Year 7 boy who auditioned and although it isn't a big role he got the biggest boy role out of all the Year 7,8,9 and 10s. He got Gavroche
0:50 Yall, the M-word is no joke. Someone kept saying it during Newsies, and our Jack lost his hat for half of the show, a stair broke the day before opening night, and one of our lead Newsies rolled her ankle the first performance when pirouetting.
My school was doing Newsies and someone said the m word. Kathrine got a concussion. Crutchie got a 100.8 fever and wasn’t there for two performances. Our jacobbis deli sign fell in the middle of King of New York onto a bunch of dancers. All of the mics suddenly connected to each other so you could hear everyone backstage talking. And a table cracked in half while a dancer was on it. That was a fun show
I am scared on what the m word is. I am in theatre but haven't been in a performance so I am not truely a theatre kid so I am scared to ask one of my theatre friends only because they have an in school performance tommorow, and real performances on the 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd. I might ask about that after they finish the performance. And after my teacher takes down the stage because she has to climb a ladder to put everything up and take everythong down.
May Flower Yep. private school for ya’ we are actually renting a actual theatre for the play, this is my first time doing a school play but not my first performance. This is my 8th musical I’m in XD I’m just new to the school and my old school didn’t do plays
Bruh i'm a theater kid and i wandered into the library to return smth and the book club (composed of several other theater kids) started chanting "one of us" at me I got out fast
@@707coded THANK YOU. I really hate it when people are judged by which musicals they like And sure, if they think there a know-it-all because they know Satisfied that one time, yes that's annoying But I hate it when people are judged JUST because they like Hamilton, or BMC, or even Beetlejuice, it's stupid Were a community dont put other people down for liking popular shows, there probably popular for a reason >:/
Awkward Abby It depends upon which version of the song. They may have just been doing the solo version that is in the songbook, not the one where it has Glinda’s opening argument with Elphaba.
2:56 When she be a boy I died of laughter. I literally would've never gotten any parts if there were enough boys in theater. All my high school roles were the male roles.
"Mess up your lines and they'll feed you to the band kids" ... The sad thing is I'm a band kid who knows that a few of our band members used to be theater techs
Me: so do you want to see the Scottish play? My friend: um Me: you know the M WORD My friend: oh you mean MA- Me: AHHH NOOOOO My friend: right yeah so I’ll wear my green dress? Me: NO GREEN!!!!!!! My friend: on second thoughts I’ll just go to the movies
why does everyone hate be more chill it’s so underatedddd😭💗 edit: i don’t think it’s underrated i just think that people judge it way to hard because it’s not even bad
Does anyone else's tech week consist of only going through Act 1 and then doing the first full run through of Act 2 on opening night? .....No? Just me?
1:35 I love all of those musicals *wipes tear* I remember watching Into The Woods for the first time. I nearly shit myself. An experience I will never forget.
2:13 triggered me because our male lead right now is failing and our dirctor keeps canceling practice so he can study and it’s cutting into our practice time
I wish people knew about musicals like Dance of the Vampire. I mean like- it's in Russian, but it's so great. The soundtrack, the plot- everything. Just listen to An Invitation to the Ball and you'll understand.
3:13 Wicked, Hamilton and Hadestown: Those guys wish they were us Mean Girls, Dear Evan Hansen and Beetlejuice: Oh ok ok, but at least we’re not that guy Moulin Rouge, Waitress and Be More Chill: Well at least I’m not you know who Cats: WORDS CAN HURT!!! 🤣🤣🤣
I love musicals but got into theater during quarantine and I have dance so I’ve never been in a musical but through watching these I feel like I know a lot 😂
2:57 I’ve literally been a girl twice out of the 12 shows I’ve done cause I can sing low and I’m masculine-ish (I’m genderfluid and AFAB) but it worked like I’ve gotten at least a pretty good supporting role every time so…
i’m a theatre kid. i go to an outside school company and there is different classes for ages. i was in juniors when i started and i got asked to be in show team which is a team you specifically get picked for. during that audition we had to sing a song and i have good vocal range and all that crap but i had a BIG voice crack but i still got in 😭
6:40 something like this actually happened to me and my friends. We asked the teacher if we could quickly look at the cast list when we go upstairs and she said “no I want to start class” we proceeded to sit in her class doing nothing for the rest of the period.
The chaos of a show that has to be put on in just a few months and a very small cast is crazy. everyone and i mean everyone has quick changes and our tech week is coming up. wish us luck
The playbill one reminds me of something that happened once. Me and my friends were talking about how Thirteen was such a fun musical when we did it and my sister pulls out the playbill for it and goes, "heres the playbill"
I really wish ride the cyclone was more popular amongst theatre kids. Not once in my life have I seen a theatre kid compilation with something involving rtc :(
