The part of the vid where the laptop falls and smacks dude in the face is a reference to Sebastian Bach former singer of hair metal band Skid Row. He criticized FiR for using laptops during their live performances. Love how Ronnie always throws shade at his most recent hater in his videos
@@TheBlackSpeed Things I noticed 1. He says he’s going to brandish a weapon while triggering the bomb in the plane. He jumps, plane exploded, he keeps going. He is the weapon. 2. The snakes are indicative of snakes in the industry that pretend to be friendly because, of course, Ronnie now has multiple Gold tracks and a twice platinum track. 3. On the stage he says he’s about to go Darth, Disney, Infinity while standing on a stage in front of what looks like Storm Troopers on the deck of one of their starships 4. The church is a metaphor for the orthodoxy of the music industry. Where you have to do things a certain way and stay in your genre lane. People are trying to get him to quit doing it and the demon he spoke with is him, telling him to keep going. 4. Eventually he gets pissed and goes over the top and destroys the entire industry with something over the top because they told him not to. In effect, this song blew up the orthodoxy of the music industry and then the world.
The number of the plane which is on his tombstone is the year his prison sentence would have ended. The priest burning was his disdain for televangelist. If you notice the good book is not on fire.
Great reaction! Please check out the live version on CaliberTV. I never listened to rap before Ronnie. But I gave it a chance because of Ronnie. I'm still more a metalhead, but I now have Tom MacDonald and some Tech N9ne, Madchild, Dax, Krizz Kaliko, etc on my playlist. Greetings from Germany
Awesome reaction!! You can tell when a reactor really likes a band rather than just talking and FIR is one of my favorite bands. I'm 61 and just starting to appreciate rap, though, and reactions are what got me interested enough to check it out, but I def like the way Ronnie raps.
Well to answer your question.. I'm am for sure a white guy who loves metal. I think Ronnie and ren rap well. But I also know they are no tech, Rittz, bone thugs..etc. I actually like some real rap as well.
Do we all like rap?? I’m older mid 50’s. I do like rap and have for quite a while…. But my typical music to listen to is rock, heavy metal…. The groups that pulled me into rap would be older like Biggie stuff like that. Then we get into Eminem and he’s the one that caused me to get into rap even more…. Next rapper I really enjoyed was Tech…yes Tech Nine and I love him!!! Seriously Tech Nine is incredible…. I also love that he crosses into metal a lot. Most people my age don’t care for rap… but I 100% can see the talent it takes to be a good rapper… This guy and this band have been blowing my mind!! They are so good and I’m not sure the world knows this yet. You don’t see this level of talent often…. And they have it!! Great reaction!!!
I wouldn't say most people your age don't care, cause remember, I grew up in the hood and all I saw were old heads bobbin' to rap. So I think it'll always be cultural. I could say most people I know who are 50+ don't listen to metal, but you would probably say you know plenty haha. It's all relative. Point being, we like what we like and all music is good music. Glad you recognize that as well. Yeah, Falling In Reverse is nuts. Can't believe how long it took me to finally catch up to 'em. Agreed, this talent is generational. Appreciate your words!
Chuck D and Public Enemy taught me rhythm in the '80s and were the reason i became a drummer. Tech N9NE influenced every piece of music i ever wrote while playing in Pitt's Drumline. Started listening to metal around the time for the percussion parts. Now i love both equally. This was great. Thank you.
That's the thing about Ronnie..... his vibe, his voice, songwriting, everything is fucking awesome. And he truly understands rap/hiphop just like he understands rock and metal. He just gets it!! No wonder guys like Tech N9ne wanna make songs with Ronnie... it's cause the dude is incredible. He's my favorite artist right now and it isn't even close.
Tech N9ne is one of the best (and in my personal top 5) to ever do it. I like to say he's one of those people that's your favorite rapper's favorite rapper haha. A collab with them would be amazing, I bet Ronnie would absolutely be enamored with that idea. They need to make it happen and stop playin'!
New Sub from the UK. Great reaction !!! I think why so many like what Ronnie and Ren do is because you never know what you are going to get from each song because they can bend differant genes of music together and it never fails to work. Def do the live version its crazy insane and will make you love the song even more.
UK IN THE BUILDING! Love from Texas. :) And I would definitely agree with your analysis and assessment, nothing like being surprised by high talent. And yep, live version coming!
I grew up with Biggie, Pac and Nas (to name a few). Modern rap doesn't compare in the slightest to what was being released in the 80s and 90s. You had a lot of variety of messages from the older songs whereas newer rap (mainstream rap that is) doesn't really have any message or lessons to learn. I've gone more into the metal scene as I got older, and you have the variety of messages and lessons being in the lyrics of the metal genre as a whole (which includes mainstream). Music composition wise, rap, even older rap tends to stick to a single beat without much variation to it. Without variety in the music composition, it doesn't hold my interest as well. There are exceptions to this of course, and I love it when time signature changes are integrated in the lyrical delivery, but it sadly isn't the norm. As a genre, rap is very formulaic and is difficult to step away from the formula without changing the genre. The ones that do, typically are ones that listen and appreciate other genres or are in bands. But, you don't really see rappers going above and beyond to focus on their vocals and learn new vocal techniques. You tend to see rappers who go to producers to make their tracks, and rap producers stick very tightly to the formula instead of branching out and doing something that really stands out. This is why I love metal, the genre as a whole loves to grab inspiration and techniques from other genres to put into their music. Djent - Progressive Metal with Jazz influences. Symphonic Metal - Power Metal with Orchestral and Opera influences MetalCore - Metal, Thrash and Hardcore influences CrunkCore - Lil Jon, Crunk and Metal Just to name a few.
It’s funny that you ask that question about- do I like rap? I love the way Ronnie raps- it’s the way he raps in his rock voice. Due to listening to Ronnie I have started to appreciate Rap, but honestly I don’t listen to much straight rap music. I like it if it’s switches genres.
Bro, I'm late, but I'm someone who doesnt listen to a lot of rap. I love certain artists (like boogie w da hoodie,) but i LOVE the way ronnie raps. I can understand almost every single word, the lyrics are FIRE, just CRAZY good. That's also why I'm a huge fan of twentyonepilots. Same deal. FIR goes HARD.
U know why I'm here. U must watch the live version by Caliber TV. Just remember not all priests and pastors are good. Jesus will be doing the same to them when He comes back. Last Resort finishes this video up
@@carolynbifano yea I've watched this video 100s of times with different reactors. God is always with me and I try and let people know not to look at just the surface of the video but the depth in it is awesome
I am a metalhead at heart. Always have, always will. Having said that, I love almost every genre. In particular I grew up listening to old school hip hop. I have loved watching Ronnie improve in his multiple genres and abilities. He only continues to get better and peice his genre bending music to a purely cohesive result. He quite literally is a musical genius..
His reimaginings are so incredible. He takes the exact same lyrics and gives them new meaning. This song in particular makes me see my daughter's struggles in a very personal way. It helps me understand.
Somehow I'm just now finding your channel. I'm much more of a hard rock/metalhead than anything but love Falling in Reverse, both their hard rock songs and their rap songs. Also love Ren ever since hearing Hi Ren. Aside from an Eminem phase back in the day, haven't listened to much rap. But good music is good music. Guess I gotta browse your channel for more Ren and FIR now.
The algorithm doesn't respect the low sub greatness haha. But I'm glad you made it! :) Haha yes you do. And I even made it easy and put everything in playlists so you don't have to search for. Enjoy the rabbit hole!
In general I'm not a fan of rap/hiphop, in my first many listens to nu metal songs that have rap portions those parts are my least favorite part that I suffer through to enjoy the rest of the song, but after a while I start to appreciate even the rap portions. for me I think it's most important that the voice brings something musically to the equation and there's just a lot of trash rap out threr where it feels like the voice isn't adding anything but crappy poor grammar on the nose crime advocating nonsense. I feel like rockers that add rapping to their songs may have a bit more attention focused on the voice doing more than delivering lyrics which makes it easier to accept.
Listen 😂 I’m a HUGE rap fan, Ronnie and Ren are AMAZING- I’m a huge Kendrick and Cole fan (they’re in my top 5 easy). But I listen to EVERY genre. In terms of musicians/lyricists/artists in general Ren and Falling in Reverse are some of the best. Billie Eilish is another one with AMAZING and unique artistry. 👌🏽her videos: Lovely, Hostage, and Bury a Friend are ones I think you’ll enjoy for the artistry alone.
Interesting that the priest goes up quick and so does the cross... but the Bible falls away untouched by the flames. By the end of the song I was thinking he took a page from Cube, jackin beats and styles... fun song. Into serious metal and punk rock for about 40 years but plenty of discs on Rap-A-Lot and everyone on the W/Coast in the 80's...Spice 1 is sitting next to laptop. Good music is good music. Thanks for the reactions.
Tbh newer trap and rap mixing with metal core and edm is what brought me more into rap and hiphop. I grew up listening lot of hiphop and rap by proxy but never got into it that much (was a sad numetal kid growing up and while numetal does have hiphop influence in it it only scrapes the surface barely). I think for me it was the exposure by artists that I like who do genre bending that got me accustomed and through that I got deeper into understanding and appreciating the artistry in a whole new level and now it has become big portion of the music I listen to. So yes and no. I started liking rap because how for example Ren and Ronnie do it but they also took part in opening a whole new scene to explore. I'm still more fan of the lyricism than the sound of rap but its quickly blending. And yes this is my fave FIR track.
I don't necessarily like today's rap......UNLESS it's well done in a way that I can enjoy it. Being a white boy growing up in the 80's , I like old school rap. Beastie Boys, Bone Thugs n Harmony, 2 Live Crew, Rob Base, etc etc.........I love rock and metal........While this would never be one of my favorite songs, I love the video, the energy and respect the hell out of the artistry. Love it
I think what FIR did with their music is bridge that gap between people who love hip-hop/rap/trap and those that love emo/metal/djent. I enjoy seeing the rap fans' reactions when it switches to rock and vice versa for metal heads. While I don't listen to rap as often as I do rock/metal, seeing artists dipping hard outside of their respective genres is fucking brilliant, and it makes you appreciate the lyricism and musicality of each genre. My opinion on certain music genres over the years definitely has gone from "I don't listen to X" to "if it's good music, put it on".
To answer your question I used to listen to quite abit of rap when I was a teenager like Eminem, Dre, 2pac fell off it abit when I found metal. Because of Corey Taylor from Slipknot I discovered Tech 9 they did a song called Wither together and blended both genres beautifully and of course falling in reverse do what they do and are amazing at it. For me personally it’s the blend of both.
Waaay too long...... you and me both! I just discovered them weeks ago and my daughter was like.... whaaat, this is my YOUTH Mom. I grew up with Ronnie Radke back in his Escape The Fate days. (She's a little punk and doesn't like his new music. Kids these days, amirite?)
I love rap!!! Rock, reggae, blues all music and Ren and FIR mixes genres, been into it since Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park etc. Alone is my favorite song by FIR
Great reaction! I love that you love Ronnie's songs so much! What you say about the respect for music it's so true! If there was only one person on earth never forgetting where he came from, it would be Ronnie for sure.
Oh, and I owe you an answer on the rap music question: I never really listened to rap before I came across FIR and Ronnie. He made me like rap, bc his mixtape was so fuckin good I literally fell for it (btw you should check the mixtape songs sometime). Later I started to listen to Drake and Tech N9ne and ofc Eminem. But I still love Ronnie's rap style, his beats, his lyrics and his vocals!!! the most.
And that's wassup, you respected the genre and branched out to other things, which made you respect and appreciate it even more. Love to hear that. :)@@someinamillion1020
Metal head at heart, but I'll listen to just about anything. i really enjoy this music because it's a great bridge between different communities. Sure there are other hybrids and some that sound like poor mashups, but songs like this elegantly done artistically are the way to go for solid entertainment. My amateur prospective.
Ok. I know this reaction been out for a while now but I gotta say this. This is by far the best reaction to this song I have seen! When you threw off the headphones walked away and all we hear is WTF?! I was laughing so hard because when I first saw the video I reacted the same way! You definitely nailed it bro! Keep it up!
Aww haha thank you for that, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I thoroughly enjoyed it myself! Hahaha I knew yall would find that funny, because editing it it made me lau gh too lol. I'm definitely going to keep going, hope to keep seeing you around!
Im middle aged now but I did not like rap growing up when I listened to primarily metal industrial and rock. I jumped onto the Dr Dre and Snoop bandwagon and had their CDs but didn't really get much else into Hip Hop or rap until my 30s. Finding artists like Aesop Rock and Immortal Technique but Ive recently gotten into more hip hop and rap like Dax. I just like it to have a message and some depth and I think growing up it was hard to find that in a hobunk town with MTV telling me what to like. Of course as a suburban white kid I also liked Eminem and ICP so I feel like I have teetered across the scene but never really respected it until I grew up and that is why I love FIR for their blend of Rap and Metal. By the way I found your channel just now because of FIR and I am loving your style man. New sub.
I appreciate this thought and your perspective. I always enjoy reading people's journey through a genre and how they found what they liked and didn't like. I'm glad the algorithm did its job and brought you here! Appreciate earning your sub. We have a good time around here and hope you'll get that same feeling in my older (and newer) videos. :)
Hey I'm 💯 REN was my gateway to rap but I am LOVING finding more and more great music in a genre I had previously not appreciated my bad...my bad no longer ❤️🔥
Yeah, I totally agree about Ronnie, he definitely respects the game, and is a true student of the culture. See I discovered FIR when the pandemic hit, and they had just dropped Popular Monster, which was one of his first rap/rock songs, and while it's a banger in a half, he just had two very basic verses rapping, nothing crazy that blew my mind, but it fit the song perfect, then in the trilogy (losing my mind/life and Drugs) he started getting a little more progressive with his spittin', especially in Losing My Life, he had gotten pretty fast, it was really good, but not great yet, he missed a few pockets, nothing noticeable to most, and I really thought that would be his plateau, which was still way above average for any rock/rap artists I've ever heard. Then he drops Voices In My Head, and even though there wasn't spittin spittin' in that one, I could tell his delivery was better, then when this dropped, I almost fell out my chair....lol. So it's been really fun watching him hone his craft the last 4-5 years. Oh yeah, this was my favorite, but I dunno, Last Resort reimagined is pretty dope, not sure if that's one you reacted to yet, but it's a friggin masterpiece! As always, great reaction!! ✌️💚
Hey I appreciate you taking the time to type this all out and giving your take. Thank you! I have not done Last Resort reimagined yet, so stay tuned for when I drop it. :)
Ronnie & Tom MacDonald are the closest to Rap I’ve ever thought I would. I’ve spent almost five decades being a metal & punk guy. I also enjoy Vivaldi. Not rap. Until recently.
That's what's up, and nothing wrong with that. You at least still appreciate the genre and understand the intricacy and skill within it. All we and anyone can ever ask for.
I appreciate music as a whole. And while rap isn't my Forte. I like how ronnie and falling in reverse does it cause they use Instraments. I like to hear the rhythm of a the bass, the timing of the drums, thr melody of the guitars. And of course Ronnie's distinct voice.
For sure! There are tons, and I mean 10s of thousands, or even 100s of thousands, of rap songs that already do that, but you just gotta be on the lookout and gotta search. Beyond radio and beyond what's force fed to you. I bet you'll find some hits you'd love.
Love your FIR reactions!!!! I have always listened to some rap, not like heavy but it was def in my mix. From dre, to snoop, pitbull, missy Elliott, Eminem, and even some Limp bizkit and Linkin Park mix. I have been listening to Ronnie since like 2006 Escape The Fate days , and i just love how unique he is, sort of reminds me of Eminem but has more vocal capabilities. He has that aggressiveness in it that just makes you feel every word he says. The emotions drip in every line, all the pain and anger, and i can relate to that. Its very relatable. It makes you want to ride the train with them ya know lol 😆 Anyway i think you should check out one of his older songs that has multiple genres in it, i think youll be surprised. There is no video but its called Rolling Stone, i suggest using the lyric video lol 😆 I cant wait for the next one! Im on this ride with you my dude!! I love it 😊
Haha enjoy the journey with me, we have a long way to go. And also, love your taste and style in music as well! Definitely with you on the Eminem comparison, you can tell he's definitely inspired by the style.
To be honest with your quick clip brought me here and your reaction got me interested. I am a rock/ metal head. Now to answer your question yes i like break ya neck from busta rhymes, eminem, lil wayne, and a lot of the older rap (mainly where theres a message i can understand)
Aye, much love. Glad it could swing you over this way and you had a decent time watching! And yeah, I'll always say rap/metal both have a very similar place in the culture. Glad to see that's true more and more.
The trilogy is similar but different idk how to explain it. I’m hoping they’re some of the ones you’ve already recorded and are editing lol. You will not be disappointed. Losing my Mind, Losing my life, Drugs
Lol I know, I was referring to me as a watcher/follower, not the people in the audience. It was a half joke lol.. I got ya though. And agreed. Handle his business!
Ronnie grew up much as I did... with The Chronic. I bought that album when I was like idk, 13 or 14 and I listened to that shit on RE-RE-RE-REPEAT 24/7 for MONTHS! Then later on I caught the Eminem train and rode that shit forevaaaa. Ronnie has these same influences. (I listened to a bunch of other rap artists in between, but Dre and Snoop and Eminem were the standouts for my youth). I think THIS is why I love Ronnie's rap (and don't get me wrong... when he first started trying to rap, he kinda sucked... no... he REALLY sucked (look up his first rap album... its 90% baaaaad) but I literally just discovered him too, just weeks ago, and went down a long spirally rabbit hole!) His journey with rap is a testament to how much he appreciates it and tried and tried and tried until he got better and better and better at it. The man know no musical bounds!
As for REN... the kid has a fascinating (and heartbreaking) backstory, and he TELLS the story in his music, and he is so multifaceted, raw, and versatile... the passion just bleeds out of him like an artery. He's gritty, he's British, and he tells stories like fuckin' ghetto Shakespeare. He really needs to write and perform plays with Lin Manuel Miranda or something, lol.
Haha you know what's funny, I'm always complimenting Ren's writing and I kind of agree. He should do more than just music, he has a mind for stringing concepts together. It's a skill. And I heard Ronnie's old stuff. Jesus Christ it's bad lol. This man today is SOOOOOOO much more talented.
You may appreciate one of his older songs, “good girls, bad guys” more specifically for its music video and the hip hop history. NOTE: it is not a hip hop song, it’s certainly more pop punk esque lol
I like old-school classic rap, but constantly struggle with most modern mainstream stuff because I just can't relate to the content. It all turns to meaningless noise in my ears. I do better with these genre-blended things. The words vibe with me. I'll listen to anything once, but you gotta make me care if I'm gonna bother listening again.
Imma keep it real I’m not a fan of rap at all. It’s not horrible and I have a healthy respect for rappers because it isn’t easy to do, just isn’t something I’ll seek out to listen to on a regular basis. I’ll listen to Ronnie rap all day long because I know eventually it’s gonna get into the hard metal that I enjoy. And his lyrics are phenomenal. Lyrics will make or break a song for me.
This is a good response and I can definitely understand that. I feel that with other genres, like country. I don't seek it out, but when I know it's about to be unique and/or genre blend, you got me hooked ha. So I understand that.
Bro you need to check out the new falling in reverse song that just came out a few weeks ago song is called Ronald and they a dropping an album in July called popular monster
Great reaction and analysis. I just wish you hadn't put those spoiler clips of The Boys in at the end. Currently watching and bit disappointed at that 😕
Lol I appreciate it, but are those really spoilers? I mean it's just him blasting people in the audience and that's it. He's done that bad in the first episode of the first season. And by now.. I mean damn everyone should've seen it lol. I can't always avoid that, sorry.
You brought up a very interesting question. About Ren and Falling in Reverse and whether we like them rapping or like rapping. I have credited Ren and Ronnie Radke to being able to introduce me to rap in a way that allowed me to appreciate it and really hear it for the first time. I'm a 60 plus year old white woman who never could figure out what anybody saw and wrap that also never really listened to it just knew what it was in general. Ren and FIR are both relatively new to me and when they added the wrap portions or style in their music it was surprising to me and for the first time it's like I really heard it. It has allowed me to now listen to other rap music and hear it differently. To me they open the door for me to try to understand better something previously I could not get into.
That's a fair response and I can understand that. The style they present and the way they rap allowed you to see the genre in a new light, thus you may have a different appreciation for it now. And that's fair, nothing wrong with that at all. Appreciate you taking the time to write that out. :)
I think the Ronnie fans that like him since 2004 with escape the fate, like the way he raps cause it blew our minds the first time he sprinkled it in his music. i know if a rapper you liked just started putting metal infused into his art, you'd love watching peoples reactions that had no idea.
I like all forms of hip hop if its good. The mainstream BS sucks. Lyrics matter a ton with the art of hip hop but mainstream has oushed a narrative that rap/hip hop is supposed to be about drugs and women. Its poetry to a beat and if your poem isnt saying a message it is actually disrespectful to the art of hip hop
I'm here check your reacting this song, because i see you on short video on youtube, btw great reaction bro and then i love this song so fucking much hell yeah
Aye! Glad you took the time to come check it out, knew you'd like it. Appreciate you. And yeah, this song is still probably my favorite one by them ha.
I think bro it’s probably the same for people that don’t listen to rock right? If you like the way Ronnie do then you may be open to more of that style. I listen to mostly metal but I definitely been checking out other stuff because of Ronnie
For sure, it probably is. I just would never like his band yet say I don't like rock. That wouldn't make sense to me considering he IS rock. So that's more of what I was asking, but I get what you're saying.
Next please check a new song of falling in reverse called ronald this song is fucking banger too and then on this song they collaboration tech9nine i hope you like it this song
Any song is my favourite lol love falling in reverse following this song he brought out last resort with is a papa roach cover should watch it's a masterpiece
Alone has been my number one song by FIR for a long time...But this one has been nudging just because , He shows his growth in talent and as a person. He shows that hey I'm not kidding when I say I can do this music thing.
The moment I uploaded this, I had several people say I have to check it out. I'ma take yall advice and do that. Just need time. :) Glad you stopped by and watched!
First things first, this is the first reaction i have seen of yours.... instantly subscribed because you give off a dope energy!!! secondly as someone who loves the golden era of Hip Hop (Yes i am talking about the nineties..... fight me haha) i also love both Ren & Ronnie because as you said, they are students of the craft and respect it! and they both come at it from a very lyrical approach. well that's enough from me, i am off down the Blackspeed rabbit hole of videos!!!!
Haha aww that's high praise. Much love, brotha. Glad you felt the vibe and will stick it out! And nah man that is the golden era haha no need to squabble! ENJOY THE RABBIT HOLE! And we have many more to come. :)
I've watched a ton of reactions and the thing that nobody has picked up on yet is that the speed rap section is inside Ronnie's mind. It's his inner "demon" that he's tapping into when he writes his lyrics. His dark side. The voice in his head. His demon is typing out the lyrics as they think of them. Then they kind of argue with each other as to who's actually creating the lyrics during the last part before he's ejected into the next scene.
Hey, appreciate you calling that out! I thought it was pretty implied, but you're right it's not something singularly called out. It's such a dope visual and powerful moment to see how he's handling his inner turmoil. Seems to be a consistent theme of Ronnie's.
