dont get me wrong, i love any incarnation of the Oh Sees. but man do i wish i couldve seen dwyer with bridget, petey and mike. their chemistry is fucking incredible
Maybe because it actually looks like a true band, not only like John's project? Although I LOVE for instance the last incarnation of the Oh Sees, just like you.
I saw them the past weekend, at the last date of their EU tour, for the 2nd time. I even got to chat to the band after the show, they're all top blokes, and i have to say, they're super tight sounding nowadays! Very different material at times but 100% OSEES nonetheless!
Way too underrated. Thee Oh Sees are the most influencial band of the 2010s hands down. No Oh Sees means no Ty Segall, Fidlar, King Gizzard, Growlers, Wytches, ect. people need to start recognizing how important this band is
King Gizz have already said Thee Oh Sees are their favorite band, and I can't help but wonder how far Ty would get if John wouldn't have pressed his first record on Castleface.
This is very true, I think it is cool that Thee Oh Sees are now getting a lot more recognition because of the amount of current bands citing them as an influence. I was turned on to Thee Oh Sees by King Gizzard as I think a lot of people were and if more bands who take inspiration from Thee Oh Sees start to get as popular as King Gizz then Thee Oh Sees will be recognised as the hugely influential band they are. Kinda same thing how Black Flag gained a lot of respect after Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers and pretty much every other good band from the 90's were referencing them
I remember first listening to "the coconut" after downloading a bunch of random music on to my sony xperia t as a 13 or 14 year old. A year or 2 later gta 5 came out and I thought it was crazy to see "the dream" on the in game radio as it was one of my favourite songs and none of my best friends who were avid gamers like me could understand my enthusiasm for it. Thee Oh Sees are absolutely fantastic and it's crazy to notice how much they have inspired other bands even John Dwyers' Zippy Delay style of playing guitar has been imitated by certain current guitarists. I just remember putting on those headphones and having my face melted , it was such a contrast to everything else I was listening to at the time like the strokes or RHCP and the punk energy the bands recordings have follow them all onto the stage with every incarnation of thee oh sees which is something a lot of bands simply just don't have. Anyway I LOVE thee oh sees!! Also I miss the walkman app on my old crappy phone.
This lineup is awesome and it bums me out I never got to see them, living in the Bay 2008-09 and 2012-2015. I worried that I blew it and missed something I can never get back. Then I watched a recent performance of the new lineup performing "Ticklish Warrior," and I smile because I've seen the new lineup seven times in the last year and a half and they are still the best live act on stage. Sadly, this lineup will never reunite because, like Seinfeld, they had their moment and now its over. They enjoyed the shit out of themselves when it was happening. They went for it together and they were so fucking good. They left some of my most cherished music in their wake. Thank God for THEE OH SEES. They rock even harder now, just in a different way
Never got to see this lineup, but I saw the new lineup end with this song last month and it was the most rock and roll thing I've ever experience by a longshot. Nobody rocks harder than Thee Oh Sees.
All their drummers are like super stressed when playing, their faces are like "OMG I'M GONNA SCREW THIS I NEED TO FOCUS OMG OMG". It's like he's feeding them the same drugs
@@hammies. I get that 100% however let me reassure you, no one is judging anyone at an oh sees concert for getting rowdy no matter how you look doing it
@@hammies. have always been anxious to get in a pit or something like that, but when I saw ohsees in November 2021 I finally did it and it was the most fun I’d had since covid started, if you ever get the chance to see them, 100% do it, tbh more people would judge you for just being stood their looking unimpressed hahaha
I have not seen a band this good since At the Drive-In....pure creative explosion. And Brigid Dawson is the coolest chick on this planet. She should get the Kim Deal award or something.
every member is so talented john is of course killing it, but the drums keeps my head bobbing, the bass hits so hard and the keyboard was really piecing everything together amazinh
@@heckicusdoomicuswizardus1382John Dwyer plays fast and melodically. That on its own is good, but he is extremely tasteful when it come to his playing. Knowing how to keep things energetic and insanely catchy is a skill not many pentatonic abusers have.
Contraption every night Paint out the lights It stops all the feel ups That go under the tables Is that what they say? And I am destination The jewel of a song A well cut appetite A spread that has been wasted That's all they say So, pull your nets right in Find a couch or table And recreate the zero, You suspect you are Yup, that's what they say
as far as I've seen petey uses a normal tuned fender jazzmaster through an EQ Pedal into a bass amp and john tunes his guitar down one full step maybe for easier bends on his burns double six.
J'apprécie la fondation de ce groupe de ce moment là., comme pour ACDC ,quand il y avait Bin Scott, ensuite je ne les ai plus écouter.sans la voie de Bon Scott ça n'avait plus ? 🤷♀️💐💐💐🙋🦉
