I don't think there's anything wrong with having a healthy respect for a couple or individuals, but I do think it's a little weird when people start to put others as "couple goals" or just "goals" in general... you only know what they allow you to see, and when you try living vicariously through someone else, you can miss certain opportunities in your own life...imo 🤷🏾‍♂️

I'm so impressed with Devale educating with clear and historically accurate political economic facts. Cultural hype does not translate to political economic power and spiritual wholeness. We can have money and still be murdered. Cultural influence has not and does not translate to less mass incarceration, financial net worth, healthcare, and being brutalized unto death outside AND within our "communities".

Lessons from this podcast: embrace change; you never know how God is going to use you, it’s His plan, not yours. Learn to pivot, if a door closes ITS FOR A REASON. Respect your partner’s vision even if it seems like it’s not ideal for you, and find a way to make it align with yours. Don’t put other couples on a pedestal, every couple has and will have their own struggles. Also submission is simply trusting someone to lead, and that trust is earned.

I appreciate this interview to show me there is hope for what I want and what I like in a partner, friend, husband (if it gets to that point). This was an EXCELLENT interview. So relatable and touched on so many points. I come from a Caribbean household just like Khadeen so I so relate to how she spoke about the dynamics of her parents marriage and how they communicated and it affected being a struggle at times with her being able to effectively communicate with Devale. I know they don’t like couple goals and honestly I don’t like saying it but Devale & Khadeen are being great great examples of what healthy black love looks like. I’m older than them yet I get a lot of gems from how they are and how they move. Can’t wait to get the book!

Yes, he’s a comedian, but even more so, he’s full of a wealth of knowledge and truth, and he boldly speaks THE truth in any room, regardless of trends and popular emotionally charged arguments. He elevates the intellect in discussions. I love how he distinctively challenged Cam’s comment about “all love…regardless the color.” … I love and agree with Devals clarification… Black love is distinctively different, powerful, and revolutionary due to the history of oppression in our Nation. I've watched both parties operate in their platforms. This is by far the best interview I've seen for each party. Cam was very intentional with his questions and Devale/Kadene dropped some monster gems. Vale...much respect to you bro.
