Great video explaining how the pointer dog works! Added to the Wiki (since you mentioned it... :) - thehunter.wikia.com/wiki/Dogs#German_Pointer_Community_Videos
I just got a German Pointer, but was given no option to name her like I had with my scent hound in the past. I'm stuck with a nameless dog now which is a bit odd. I wrote the support team but have not received a response yet. Have you ever encountered this issue? Anyway hope top learn this new dog as I've only taken her on about 3 hunts so far. Great video.
Bloodhound is a fun dog, but I found her only really useful with bow hunting on a bad shot. Such as using the longbow on an elk. A bad shot could mean the wound time is greater than 20 minutes. Instead of doing all that tracking yourself, you can just put the dog on the trail. I also found the GPS on the bloodhound to help alot as well. You could put her on the trail, go afk to grab a snack or something then place a mark on the map where her GPS says she is. Then just run to that mark and continue from there.
It wasn't too bad. The main hurdle is the 5 minute cool down between commands to search. That gets reduced to 2 minutes and then 30 seconds. When it gets reduced, the dog can level faster. Quickest way are the hares on the Roo map. Find their holes and you can just point the dog at the same rabbits over and over. Boring, but it works. A dog treat after a point helps too.
@@lycon7000 I'm still reading them. If I remember correctly treats give a bonus on top of the last successful dog action. I would give the treat right after a successful point. I'd let the dog finish his pointing.
@@chelsygaming20 I think I talk about that in some of my videos. But a good way is to go to BRR and just have the dog spot the rabbits in the same hole over and over. Give the dog a treat after each spot. There is a 5 minute cool down for the first while though so there is no quick way. Cool down gets decreased to two minutes and then 30 seconds. I believe I state the levels in the video. Can't recall ATM.
