the joke is that this is a normal sounding shop theme because retail employees always hate you and want you to leave but will never say it to your face so they can keep their job source: am a retail worker who hates you and wants you to leave (politely) ☺
@@flynnoflenniken7402 the only good things that came out of the pandemic were masks. I’ve worn mine since the day they gave them to us. It’s so nice not to have to think about my whole expression. I can just smile with my eyes
- Apologies, sir, but we need to close soon to square the register. - But you're just a game NPC... - True, but even we need our beauty sleep. Plus, we're unionized now!
Too accurate. At my store we do an announcment every 5 minutes for the last 20 minutes. You still get people coming through with full trolleys right at the end.
*looks back at the person, confused but then the person smiles, making me uncomfortable. looks left and right, then right down, thinks quickly, fakes a sorry smile* o- oh uh thanks *and well, slowly leaves but the second im kinda through the door, i 🏃♀. SEE YA!. now outside i just, i dunno, from there anything could happen. i mean, expect going back in, you know? welp that was my scene, byeeee!*
To me it sounds like a place that is trying very hard to be inviting but is slightly too sterile for that, after cleaning up the bodies from their previous victims.
aaasjknbdf i wanted to joke about how every retail worker wants their customers to leave, but sometimes you can't even tell because of good customer service haha
No fr cuz its like are u for real going to get out by the time we close? We are open until then so we will stay open of course, but as a customer are you gunna do your part and be out by the time we close? And some are rlly be rude about it for some reason, i told a group coming in that we close in three minutes, and the dude im ringing up turns to them and says “Nah guys come in its the law that they stay open” turns to me and says “its your job” like they rlly dont actually see us as human its kinda wild, he got defensive when deadass its part of my job to remind you we r closing soon 😭 man sorry for the vent, this happened recently and mannnn rahhhhhh. Like if you think u can self serve urself frozen yogurt in three minutes by all means, but i know for sure that most of the time, theres rarely ever a person considerate and understanding who genuinely gets their stuff before close. 😔 shout out to all those kind customers fr
@@zucchini3857I always feel kind of guilty going into a store just before they're closing, but I make sure to be as quick as I can be whenever that happens at least. I'd never give an employee grief for my bad planning, that's kind of wild.
now that you say that, it kind of has the vibes of something that might go eerily silent right in the middle, like as you walk down the longest aisle in the store and there's something mortifying at the end
It has like fae vibes to me. Like some mysterious beings are inviting you but either really don’t want to or you really shouldn’t go, but it’s up to you if you do.
This song perfectly sums up the awkward anxiety one feels when windowshopping for 10 minutes and then abruptly leaving the store to avoid making a scene with said anxiety
“Srings Pizzicato” i sincerely apologize about the extreme lag in this video and srings pizzicato, i am so sleep deprived and my macbook is 10 years old hee hee
Literally in the exact same situation lmaooo. 2015 13" macbook air, the thing has lasted longer than I expected and is still going. I couldn't imagine myself screen recording on it but hey making music is still fun and it does the job. Great stuff btw!
@@RummanNaser AAHBFKSJD YEAHH 😭😭 usually it’s not this laggy, but i forgot that my macbook can’t handle having like two applications open simultaneously haha but thank you and it’s nice to see someone in the same boat :D rip to us
@@hiheyon BAHAHAHAHAH NOT BEING ABLE TO OPEN MORE THAN TWO APPLICATIONS SIMULTANEOUSLY IS SO REAL LMAOO. The struggle is real 😤 Either way at this point I'm just testing the limits to which I can take this mac. And as they say limitation breeds creativity :D
My local hardware store just plays the "Bro-COuntry" station constantly, so I make sure I just grab what I need and buy the item and leave as quickly as possible, before I hear too much about Blue Jeans, Trucks, Beer, Red Cups, and Cut off Shorts.
This feels like a Pokemon shop theme song. So it's upbeat and catchy and you like it because you only hear it for a little bit because shopping trips are so short...but it also feels a little too fast paced and anxious lol. Nice work.
great dude!! one thing i think you could add near the end is more accents and stacattoe'd rythyms to produce that feel that the shop is getting tired of you and is barely containing their impatience. Definitely subscribing!!
@@TheRealBatabii ..okay? they're not using it as a derogatory term, they're not directing it at someone else, they, as an autistic person, are using it as a comedic self description. i don't see what the issue here is?
It's amazing how the title tells you what you're supposed to expect and you'll just accept it at face value. Other working titles include: POV: Watching the beginning of nuclear armageddon in slow motion Elevator in a Roblox idle game You're building a bear at Build a Bear Workshop Underwater cave that's on fire Spaceship restaurant orbiting Saturn and the service is taking too long Brazil Brazil Isn't Real Christmas music if it took place during June in Brazil Total War: Brazil - main menu theme Casino full of grandmas 11 rabbits eating grass together I'm going to assault your family (politely) Qin Shi Huang Di's taste in music if he was from Brazil
This came into my recommended and it really captures the awkward “store is about to close” atmosphere in a playful way! Listened to some of your other songs and I really like them, especially “if i meet you again”!
Oh lol at my store we close fitting rooms like 30 minutes before close, and then once that’s done usually the fitting room attendant helps close the rest of the store
The silence in the middle is like the shop taking a second to stare you down like "they're STILL here??" before remembering to be polite and continuing on with the music
There's something quieter in the background that feels just barely out of sync (maybe it's the percussion line, but I really don't know enough about music to say for sure), but the woodwinds are loud and busy enough that it easily fades away, especially in combination with the quick(ish?) tempo and the melody never straying too far from its designated collection of notes (nor repeating the exact same pattern twice-things being the *slightest* bit off kilter is the name of the game, it seems). The pauses that hang for just a moment too long truly make this 1:21 tune a masterpiece.
i imagine the moments when the music suddently stops is the store clerk saying "sir, the store is closing in three minutes" the the client just looks at them and. dont get the memo. and keep trying to shop
This is brilliant, it sounds like it's trying to come to an outro at the end of every two bars, and yet it keeps going. There's an unspoken "okay, fine, we'll keep going."
Ah, the feeling of being a retail worker. A customer asks to come in 5 minutes after closing, and because of store policy you have to let them in. They stay for another 30 minutes, keeping the manager from closing the registers and you from starting cleaning procedures.
As a retail worker who often has to work at closing, we want everyone to know that we’re closing and we will be watching you the entire time to pressure you to leave without saying anything. Basically “Take your time, but at your own risk”
@@mrosskneThe asshole tax. Personally, I only ever charge people for bags if I hate them. Making me stay open after closing time makes me hate you. I'm on a timer and you are running it down.
@@mrosskne I suppose there's a certain point at which you stop _shopping_ and begin _trespassing._ I'm not sure exactly what that point is, but it does exist!
This feels like it would be in undertale then you’d find out that the person running the store had some crazy dark background story and one of the giveaways for people to find that out would be going to the sound track and seeing the name for this song be “theme of a shop that wants you to leave (politely)”
Absolutely nailed the vibe of a cute little shop in a JRPG where the dialogue trees with the shopkeeper keep getting increasingly and hilariously more passive-aggressive.
I'd listen to this all day long 🥰 this evoked the wonder and whimsy I felt playing pokemon, raiding every nook and cranny of the towns with serene bangers like this massaging my ears. Thank you ever so much 🥺
I remember once going to Menards with my family to buy stuff and all the employees were either helping us or standing and staring at us. We were confused till we learned that they’d closed 5 minutes into our visit and we’d been in there for like 20 minutes.
this sounds just adorkable!! i listened to some of the other lil tunes you've made and they're all so adorkable and cute and really good!! you're so good at composing :0 keep it up :3 (i wish your tunes were on spotify @A@)
I really love how active you are responding to people 🥺 You genuinely seem so sweet and I’m so glad I came across this video because I love the music and it matches the vibe you’re going for hehe
This feels like window shopping and a different store clerk every 3 minutes asks if you need help finding anything or tries to give you the best deals except you have already told them you aren’t buying anything
