Theme to Woody Allen's "Sleeper" 

Sleeper is one of my favorite woody movies i can watch again and again

I want this at my funeral.

Song is "'Tain't Nobody's Business If I Do" from the 1920s by Porter Grainer.

That Dixieland music Made that flick for me as I had played a clarinet in my childhood , it was made the flow of the movie for me like a shot in the arm to any major points. I actually was wishing that that theme wouldn't stop playing! So now it doesn't have to!

This was the piece of music that began for me a life long love of jazz, when I saw Sleeper when I was about 12.

The only thing better then HEARING this tune would be to SEE the original performers playing it!

This is how Dixieland is supposed to be played: fun, lose and a little sleazy. It was bar music, and unfortunately too many Dixie groups now are a little too neat and tidy; an emphasis on technical proficiency over the right 'feel' for the music. And it has to have a tuba on the bass line. I respect the slap-bass, but Dixie should have the big horn.

I'm happy to hear how you recorded this for upload. I still remember listening as a kid to a cassette of this track I'd made directly off of my VHS tape of the movie.

@jellycracker Preservation Hall Jazz Band from New Orleans, but for this you have to get the sound track. It was recorded specifically for this movie, and that's Woody on clarinet.

The Italian version of the movie boasts this good idea; the title appears EXACTLY in the same instant when the trumpets start playing. I assure you, this adds something to the music. It was made by the video operator who made the videocassete. In the original version this doesn't happen.
