Everyone, I mean everyone should listen very carefully to what Mr Theo de Jager has to say in this interview!!! People have no clue what it takes to put food on the shelves in the shops. Blood, sweat and tears is a gross understatement!!! Please, please, please people, appreciate your farmers!!!

Mr Theo de Jager thank you for your insight in farming. As a farmer and activist in conducting workshops on farming would like to make contact with yourself or your organisation. I like your approach in the process of Land Reform. I hope my note will reach you. I thank you

Great podcast. Translate into the main official languages and get it out. Local radio stations. Local papers. The most common sense and down to earth podcast I have heard. Thank you David

It puzzles me that those who are pro farm murder , pro land confiscation without compensation etc can buy food , take it for granted and support the death and brutal torture of the ones that produce it and keep them alive. Cut the hand that feeds them . Even better in their eyes, murder them. Why ? Its the ultimate evil.

We just go to the shops and assume our fruit and veg will be there. I hope nothing happens with that. No electricity we can live with but we need food and water. Thank you such much an eye opening talk.

I have noticed in my area suddenly alot of 'for sale' signs. Not sure because of EWC , potental interest rate hikes or everything just getting more expensive.

Theo is dead right on the farm murder theme. The ethos, the torture & the kill-the-boer political incentive etc. The ANC is a complete disgrace, so much blood is on their hands and even more on Malema’s.

Sorry but ruminants should not be eating maize. We don't need maize for animals farming. Follow Allan Savory's work to learn this. We also need to establish many more small communitu/family owned farmsnyo be resilient

Really interesting! His partnership model sounds like the best model for nation building and for agriculture. The government seems to get in the way of south Africans making a plan together in every sphere.

Theo presented several lectures to us on our National Security course at the SA National Defence College in 2002. He also spoke at the SA National Defence College Association Guest Speaker Evenings. In each case his knowledge and broad experience was profound. He remains a significant voice to listen to.

I promote regenerative agriculture in a small scale in Zimbabwe and Western Cape. I connect with the local family/community to start vegetable gardens. Also, I introduce them to learn budgeting, healthy lifestyle, and empowerment. It's a very gradual process, but working. Now more locals regardless of the skin colour are aware and willing to volunteer. Thank God for that.

While I agree with much of what DeJager says, especially the tragedy of farm murders, some of what he says does not feel right. It’s all too much like a commercial for the poor oppressed victimised farmer. We are acquainted with and supportive of a number of fine dedicated small and medium sized farmers for whom working the land is a calling. But over the last decade up here in the Sandveld I’m afraid virtually all the medium sized and big Agri operators are simply raping the land. In the entire Western Cape there isn’t a river that has escaped rampant damming, over abstraction and draining of the aquifers. If this is sustainable, city dwellers can look forward to empty shelves and fridges in the future. 🤔

He is so right. My family still does not have title deeds to the land my great grand parents and my grand parents bought and farmed until the forced removals. In fact our wondrous government gave it to the local chief as though he had any rights to it and no-one is prepared to right this insane wrong, so we can't actually use it. As to murders in South Africa, yes those grisly things do happen with reference to gansters and more harrowingly, where gender based violence is concerned. I used to do work for POWA, it was dreadful then and its worse now. That, of cause doesn't mean any of those things are acceptable. My family (Tswana) have been victims of farm violence too. That any life is so cheap in our country is ungodly.

If you don't know how to fund your next planting, why not get the local community to invest in the crop? I don't get why farmers always turn to banks when they can get direct investment from the end user? Community Supported Agriculture!
